There is scant historical evidence that the current Republican policy of reducing taxes, cutting spending, or both has EVER worked. Even their homeboy Reagan adopted the policy only AFTER he had raised taxes across the board in his first term AND set in motion some of the most expensive and beneficial social spending programs in American history. I think most people were convinced he would ruin it eventually and he sure did. But it was too late to do anything about it. He had already been re-elected in a landslide. » Posted By ADONAI On February 22, 2011 @ 1:25 pm Keep up the good work Cher! Love is what you’ve been through with somebody. The best proof of love is trust. I WILL CRUSH YOU!! YOU WILL NEVER KNOW JOY AGAIN!!! » Posted By ADONAI On February 22, 2011 @ 4:45 pm All my life, my heart has yearned for a thing I cannot name. Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. Love conquers all. Is that your heart? Let me go ahead and stomp all over that for you. » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 8:03 pm And in that white dress she wore to court. The most any American President has won by is 61% From what I read at the time it happened, people couldn’t understand how he got so many votes. How he won by so much. Had it been a close race, I wonder if people would have been so quick to blame. But the pieces I read seemed to suggest that he had no chance, like you said. And they based that on polling and just asking people. They were amazed he won a single region let alone the whole fucking country! Unless all those people; American, British, Iranian were wrong, which I doubt, he stole that election. » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 2:33 pm Where did I get 85%? Oh well, I just remember it being a ridiculous number and people being REALLY pissed off. » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 2:24 pm The people of Iran don’t seem to care for him. That woman didn’t get shot at a pro-Ahmadinejad rally. And 85% is a pretty goddamn big total to win no matter where you are. But maybe he is legit. Just too much circumstantial evidence going against it though. Either way, he seems like a loudmouthed idiot. » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 2:14 pm That’s fine. They just get weaker and weaker. Look at poor Newt. I hope he has no illusions of running for President. He can barely get into the double digits in polls for his own primary. Best he sit back and say dumb things on FOX News and write books that only crazy people read. » Posted By ADONAI On February 20, 2011 @ 5:04 pm I’ll be so happy when she finally goes away. » Posted By ADONAI On February 20, 2011 @ 4:53 pm Wisconsin, what does it really mean? And here is the link for the Maddow response » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 5:44 pm I was just browsing politi-fact. » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 5:28 pm O.K. Here’s what I get so far. People are pissed that the government is reducing their benefits to make up for a short fall we believe they created. The estimated deficit of $137 million. It’s been said that the governor gave away $140 million in tax breaks to corporations. And this is the reason they have a shortfall. After further investigation, that’s not true. He did indeed approve the tax cuts but they don’t have any bearing on this budget. Also, the claim by Rachel Maddow that Wisconsin was going to have a surplus was also not true. It is true that, despite Walker’s claims, he is indeed trying to get rid of collective bargaining with unions. And that is really the crux of this to me. And the argument can be made that state workers aren’t exactly losing all their benefits. Even after the cuts they’ll still make more than many workers in the “private sector”. But they are trying to remove their ability to bargain with the government and that’s bullshit. I dunno, I’m sure there is a lot more to it than that but that is what I’ve got so far. » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 5:19 pm We totally need a Koch block. » Posted By ADONAI On February 21, 2011 @ 2:00 pm HA! But they are ALWAYS pissed off! Also, I hit thumbs down by accident and I apparently can’t take it back and give it the thumbs up I had originally intended for this piece of Simpsons based punditry. » Posted By ADONAI On February 20, 2011 @ 5:01 pm Here’s my two cents on it: It doesn’t really “mean” anything. This is democracy. It’s good to see. Win or lose, the people have spoken. Things will almost assuredly be different going forward. Hopefully the firefighters and policemen will stand beside the teacher’s union who is most affected by this. Or they may find themselves next on the list. » Posted By ADONAI On February 20, 2011 @ 1:11 pm » Posted By ADONAI On February 19, 2011 @ 7:54 pmComments Posted By ADONAI
