You can watch the debate live and participate in the live discussion on our Live Events page, you can also see and join the discussion in the Live Events widget that will appear on all pages thirty minutes prior to the debate (don’t forget to refresh your browser in order to see it). Please feel free to join our “pre-show” live chat at 5:30 pm as we ramp up to tonight’s debate.
It should be an interesting evening, hope to see you here!
So… Mitt Romney is as obvious in his lies as Jon Lovit’s SNL character Tommy Flanagan: Pathological Liar, and the media drives the narative that says that he won the debate?
Jim Lehrer was so bewildered that he couldn’t moderate, the President didn’t know he was there to do stand-up comedy against a deluge of lies upon lies, and some of the undecideds are thinking that Romney made a good case — BASED ON NOTHING BUT LIES?
Jesus Hussein Christ.
The media does like it’s horse races, and since Rafalcal lost the dance contest they want to give Mitt the last dance.
Idiots.
And truly, I do say again, Idiots.
So let it be written.
Friends, I listened on the radio last night and was disappointed. President Obama let Romney get away with all his lies. Never calling him on his “facts”. Jim had no control and was awful.
It turned out as I expected.
Both performers stayed on script and made their mark.
Both actors got an A.
A draw. Neither achieved separation.
But, they both said what “they” would do; both ignored the fact that the President does NOT write laws; both ignored the fact that President does not actually control what all those other economic and political actors do.
Yes, thank you. The President doesn’t write the laws. It always bothers me when people attribute spending and deficits to Presidents. Congress controls the spending.
I was disappointed by both candidates. They both support the status quo with minor tweaks around the edges. I like the Green Party more and more every day.
I understand.
Neither party – both having a lot in common ( which partisans do not care to believe) – and are part of the system – are very unlikely to propose fundamental change. Minor tweaks fits. The phrase’minor tweaks’ fits.
Sad, but true.
12 million jobs!
Incomes will rise!
Health care for everyone!
More military!
More teachers!
All with lower taxes for everyone!
He promised us everything but balloons and birthday cake.
And he just machine gunned all these promises.
I think he was on Ritalin.
Okay, it’s almost over. I couldn’t stand to watch, because watching/listening to Romney drives me crazy. So, what’s the verdict?
I know you all will probably say that President Obama won, but what were some of the high points? Low points? On both sides?
Would love to hear from those who had the fortitude to watch.
Good evening/afternoon everyone.
The debate starts at a 10 in the morning here, and being as I can’t watch or listen to the lies and comments by a bunch of RW tools and Right leaning sympathizers on CNN, I’ll be watch it on C-Span on my computer. I can’t multitask because of my vision, so I’ll catch up with you after the debate. Go get him Mr. President!!
Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!
See you later.
See you soon, Kalima!
Had that Fave 6th Grader here today so I’ve been off the radar, but she’s doing homework now and I’m tuning in the debate!
Over an hour now and Obama wins hands down. As for Romney I’m waiting for his nose to grow, or for someone to beam him up.
Lehrer was too weak and let Romney control the debate by cutting off the President while letting Romney continue. Double standards in a presidential debate is unforgivable. Shut up Romney, your lies are deplorable.
Romney: “Thank you Mr. President for tuning in”. WTF!!!
DailyKOS had a good article today about swing state polls. But the thing I noticed was how most of the swing state polls favored McCain last time around, especially in states with a big minority population. In fact in 8 out of 11 swing states Obama’s poll numbers were underestimated in 2008. One poll was spot on and the two other polls were off only 0.2% in Obama’s favor. Meanwhile Obama’s support was underestimated by a whopping 10% in NV, almost 9% in WI, 4.5% in CO, 4% in NH, almost 4% in VA and even 1.5% nationally. Of course the GOP says the conspiracy is that the polls are over counting Obama’s support when in fact they are probably just more accurate this year.

Will be here tonite too. Looking forward to watching with y’all
I’ll be there with bells on.
If that’s ALL you have on, we don’t want to know.
I am anxious to see Mitt put his foot in his mouth again.
It’s possible but you’ve got to think that Romney is going to be so over-rehearsed that he won’t answer questions spontaneously or directly.
So, I’m with you, hoping we see some genuine Romney gaffes but even if not, no way will he out point Obama on the actual substance of the debate.
“I am anxious to see Mitt put his foot in his mouth again.”
You speak as if he ever pulled his feet *out* of his mouth in the first place.
It’s a well known and established fact that Republicans tongue bathe their feet constantly, it’s a foot fetish – Read up on Dick Morris.
😉
Thanks for making me laugh, Auntie!
You don’t mind if I use your first name do you?
You’re correct (right) the GOP seems to have hoof in mouth sickness.
