Tonight at 8 pm and broadcast on most networks is a Graduate America special event, commemorating 2020’s high school graduates who of course, are missing out on having their traditional graduations (though some schools are hoping to hold them belatedly in August). In addition to the musical guests and others, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama will be delivering commencement addresses to The Class of 2020.

So, to do our part in recognizing this year’s graduates who have had to make this sacrifice of an American rite, this weekend’s music thread is about school, youth and great days ahead.

Now it’s your turn to send musical props to all of those High School Seniors out there taking one on the chin for the safety of our society, deserving much appreciation and recognition as they move onto adulthood and college.

Yes, I know my enemies!
They’re the teachers who taught me to fight me!
Compromise! Conformity! Assimilation! Submission!
Ignorance! Hypocrisy! Brutality! The elite!
All of which are American dreams!
All of which are American dreams!
All of which are American dreams!
All of which are American dreams!

I played the violin in my high school orchestra, we had to perform “Pomp and Circumstance” in the auditorium for the graduating seniors…..over and over and over again until all the seniors had finished walking on the stage. 🙂 Turn up the volume in that last minute as a tribute to all 2020 graduates!
