Evil ol’ Dr. Trump prescribed another killer therapy for COVID-19 this weak, more likely to kill it by killing the person it’s in. Injecting disinfectant into people and somehow, getting ultraviolet light inside them (if you like sauteed liver, this might appeal). This insane recommendation that even The Joker would see as a bit too crazy, has apparently scared Trump away from taking questions yesterday or appearing today.
So to celebrate his prescription for losing re-election with his plainly exposed lunacy, this weekend’s music thread is about light (but not inside your body). Sunlight, light, fire, and all things bright are in the spotlight this weekend (and after everything going on including staying inside so much, we can all use a bit more light in our lives!).
Now it’s your time to shine by sharing your favorite songs about light, the sun and being bright…far brighter than the evil “doctor” in the White House!
झिलमिलाते जगमगाते – Shining, sparkling
खुशियों में झुमकर – roaming in joy
और यहा जल रहे थे हम – and here I was burning

Yes, I went from Rammstein to this. My brain is a terrible thing to imagine living in, so don’t try
And back again.

I added the YouTube embed so it would display! Nice pick!
[Frank Sinatra]
Hey Questinia! So nice to see you here! Hope you’re doing well and staying safe and healthy.
Had to fix the embed so Frank was in the spotlight!
Hope to see more of you!
It was better live, but
I always prefer a live version in the Music Thread. Good pick!
Also, c’mon…
Perfect choice! I’m kind of nostalgic for that era in these Trump-Covid-19 days but the past always looks better because it’s in the rear view.
Of course! Jeff Lynne was surprisingly accomplished for someone with lower name recognition than many of those he played with and produced. Very talented guy and ELO were unique.
Still going strong, is our Jeff! I’ve been a fan since his days with The Move. Saw them live in Dublin, way back. He’s in the Hall of Fame.
Yep, saw ELO in concert in my youth and not too long ago, I had the real pleasure of meeting him in person. My impression was he was such a class act and good guy, still very down to Earth.
If you’ve seen that Tom Petty documentary, he’s featured in a good portion of it, highlighting his influence on Petty’s career and of course, their collaboration in The Traveling Wilburys.
He’s well known to folks who really know music but I was just saying, I don’t think he’s as well known to the general public as his talent and accomplishments should make him.
What a career!
