lights at stadium

As in the evil land in Lord of the Rings, Mordor, the Unseeing Orange Eye over the White House spreads darkness wherever it turns. And as in the Tolkien story, its threat has brought together so many people of conscience to fight and defeat that dark, destructive force.

Evidenced by the increased activism and enthusiasm behind The Women’s Marches, Never Again, Black Lives Matter, boycotts against those spreading hate in the media, teacher walkouts, Democrats winning in deep red states, etc., the light of humanity is rising up and pushing back against the darkness (and just wait until the November elections!).

So this weekend’s music theme is about light. Songs about days, sunshine, moon and stars, all things bright and shining that defeat the dark.

Let your light shine through this weekend by sharing songs about all things bright and beautiful!

Lovely Aquarius, Perry Como was always my favorite crooner. Such a nice man. I remember his Christmas shows, a real class act and smoooth!

How did I miss this one AQ?!! I played that record over and over many, many moons ago! Still have the vinyl! :) Thank you for posting. I just listened to it again for the first time in about 30 years!!

Hi, Fergie -- Thank you for my all time favorite from those sixties, such a great song that still “shines” brightly! :) Well, a few weeks ago my younger daughter fell on the slopes while skiing and tore three of the four ligaments in her knee including the ACL. She has a brace and crutches for five weeks, then surgery and another five weeks after that with the brace and crutches. :( So the surgery will be around the end of April, she will be back home with us for a while -- what was that old saying that you never stop being a parent. 😉

It snowed here last night, about two inches and has been cold in the 20s and 30s. Yet my daffodils have bloomed in the front yard! -- These investigations into the fraudulent and treasonous activities of the orange moron and his malicious minions are starting the countdown to booting ’em all out of office. As Meuller continues to find more evidence for indictment/impeachment -- that blue wave coming in November just keeps getting stronger! -- Hope you and DH are doing well, take care. :)

Hi Aquarius! I am so sorry to hear about your daughter -- Yikes!
She has quite a long and very tiring journey ahead of her, as will you, as her Mom.
I wish her all the best and that she recovers well.

Imagine it snowing there still in just about mid April! Yet nothing will keep the daffodils from blooming -- amazing and beautiful. Good analogy for nothing keeping the Blue Wave from coming in November! Please goodness these treasonous cretins will all lose and Trump may resign. Impeachment so difficult to accomplish. Crush those around him and see what happens! It is so sad what he has done to America. Not forgetting what the GOP did to President Obama for 8 years. They put Party before Country and now it’s going to bite.

Ah, DH and I are muddling along! I hope that you are doing well and take care also.:) But you will be busy! All good thoughts sent your way. You are so good.

Thank you for the good thoughts, Fergie -- always so nice to “talk” with you. :) Loved that “many, many moons ago” -- I still have a small collection of 45’s from the sixties that I bought with the money I earned from babysitting! And we still have a record player that works from the eighties. We also have some 78’s, mostly from my husband. -- Glad that you enjoyed Perry Come, I remember his Christmas specials and liked his smooth style as well.

As for the Not-My-President and the GOP, I hope that will be a hu-u-u-u-u-ge bite! 😉 Hope the week goes well for you and DH, I’m doing good as spring is finally pushing back winter. And as the investigations are pushing back as well -- each day brings us closer to getting that orange fraud evicted from the White House. :)
