We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving but now that the obligatory family togetherness, gratitude and sumptuous meals are over, it’s time to focus on things that matter most, getting the items we want and getting them at a discount. You know, The $pirit of the Holidays?
So this weekend, the songs will be about things, any possession or object at all…whether or not it’s on sale!
Grab your wallets and and cattle prods, we’re heading out to the “thingee” malls!
Add your own doorbuster songs before they’re all gone!
Wow!! That has to be Lester Young playing the saxophone. I love his music. My mother was a big fan of Swing and had every album he played on, no matter who the lead artist was. I still enjoy listening to that music. Of course you know I love Charles Mingus. 🙂
Hey Monica. I thought you might enjoy this piece. I love Lester’s playing, it was the epitome of smoooooth.
Lester is not on this Mingus album. Unfortunately, he died two months before this was recorded. There are two sax players on this album, Seamus Blake and John Handy. I think that’s Blake on the intro. Beautiful sound. 😉
I could have sworn that was Lester Young, sounds a lot like him. I am going to have to get some of Seamus Blake’s music, and you are correct, a beautiful sound. Thanks for the info, and the Mingus video, you’re correct again, I loved it. 🙂

Not a song but a classic.
Perfect, Fergie1!
