Welcome folks to the Weekend Music Thread. The theme for this weekend is no theme at all.
After the past few weeks of doom and gloom and the usual talking heads nonsense, my brain feels a little scrambled. I figured we should just mix it up good this weekend.
Post your favorite tunes about any subject, by your favorite artists, any genre any era. As always, have some fun doing it. Music does indeed soothe the savage breast, and sometimes inspires it. 😎
The plight of refugees and asylum seekers everywhere. Very powerful.
If you’ve never heard of Paul McDermott, you will have now.

I’m a tough SOB when I need to be, but Ms. Lang just brings me to tears with her soulful rendition of Cohens classic.
There are really no words to describe how she makes me feel. I guess, wonderful, would be appropriate. Whew!
ANOTHER Alberta born songstress KT!
And one of the best ever. She blows me away! Her emotion is in every drop of her performance.

The late great Frank Zappa https://youtu.be/jY1kIYApBJU
Did you know that there is an asteroid named after Frank Zappa? I don’t know the scientific designation, but he has his own asteroid! Quite fitting, I think.
He WAS out there KT 😉
And still is! You know, Frank didn’t use drugs? He drank beer, and smoked cigs, but he was never into drugs. Most people would not believe that, but it’s true.
He was also a very normal dad. Almost conservative in regards to raising his children.
I recently downloaded his whole library.Wow! There is a lot of interesting music there.I listened to his Mothers of Invention stuff back in the day,but didn’t keep up with his solo career
25 or 6 to 4?
The meaning forever will be discussed! I think a wee bit of acid may be involved. All those colors! 😎
