There are times when it’s important to be there for a friend or express to those close to you, that you care about them. With thoughts of Kalima, WTS and other friends and family in Japan right now and what’s been going on around us right now here in the US, this seems like a good time to let our friends, lovers and family know that we care and are there for them.
You’ve Got a Friend – James Taylor
Kind and Generous – Natalie Merchant
You’re My Best Friend – Queen
That’s What Friends Are For – Stevie Wonder & Friends
Isn’t it Friday yet?
You’re in the wrong time zone for it to be Friday.
But I’m in the proper frame of mind!
In the mood, you might say…
Thank you so much for the wonderful sentiment AdLib. The kind thoughts, prayers and wishes of our members on The Planet, touched my heart and healed my soul. Thank you to everyone. Sorry I couldn’t join in today. See you soon.
I am sending hope and prayers to you and to those that are in your life. May they be safe.
We’re thinking about you and your family, WTS and his and all the people of Japan.
You and WTS mean a lot to so many here, we’re thinking of you many times throughout each day. Hope all is well with both of you today and getting better.
Amen.
Mike de Velta -The Wedding Song (Under the Lilac tree)
A great feature, Adlib.

Did you get the Toshiba?
YES! I can’t wait! They were out of stock on the one I choose…and have to wait until next week…but It is a good choice, for the price I paid…it was fabulous…even with the week wait! 🙂
Good for You! You deserve a nice treat- for a change!
abby, you forgot to put the small, “v,” at the end of http. It should look like this, “https://

vhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgykWqMh4V0
I finally got it! Thanks Kilgore..but still to get things to work on this beast…it’s SO uncooperative!
Well, your new Toshiba will be there soon I guess. If Toshiba makes computers as well as they make TVs, then you’ll have a good one.
Doors–Love Me Two Times;
I REALLY love that one…Next week…I will like it even more!
Fuck it, I give up.
One of the most romantic songs I know, anyway.
Faith & The Muse – Sparks

“love is not dead”
And there’s a taiko drum to boot.
“Never surrender. Never give in!”
First time I ever got a look at this band.
Definitely worth my time.
Not sure why this reminds of France, but it does.
When we first arrived in Paris, and we were supposed to be there for a year, and that ended up being 2 years.
We ended up living in a home in St. Cloud, which was a suburb of Paris, and close to Versailles, but anyway, when we first arrived we lived 3 blocks from the Eiffel Tower.
One night we got a good buzz on from French wine, and took a cab – we asked the driver to take us to a club so that we could dance – and our French wasn’t very good.
We ended up in a very high class tittie bar, and I mean it was high class, and when they told us the price for one drink we left – but at least my husband and I got to see some very high class tits!
LMAO
Honestly, tits for the French are normal, and they like to think that they are above it and beyond, but they are not.
Simon and Garfunkel–For Emily Wherever I May Find Her;
Sorry. Trying to get this one deleted, folks.
“Embedded disabled”.
Damned nubes! (Me that is.)
CSN–Lady of the Island;
Oh Kilgore…THANK YOU!
My pleasure abby!
I think this belongs on this thread…I’m very sad right now…just had a conversation with the SO’s 20 year old daughter and she has NEVER heard of the Grateful Dead…nor had she ever heard of the WHO or Led Zeppelin or Crosby Stills Nash and Young…and SHE only had a passing idea as to who the Doors were or Jimi Hendrix, Janice or the Beatles.
{SIGH} I was born in 1968. SOME of the people who I mention, died when I was a baby. AS I said, I was born in 1968, YET I still know who GLEN MILLER, BOBBY Darin and AL JOLSEN WERE, I even KNOW their music…why do so many kids today not KNOW WHO the basic rock legends were????
Truly, the history of ART mediums from RECENT history shouldn’t be SO unheard of to our young that they don’t KNOW who these icons were…what the f.uck???
MY kids who ARE the same AGE….are very familiar with ALL the artists I mention….shouldn’t they be??? Isn’t all this a part of our culture???
abby, have your SO’s daughter come to a few Friday Night Music threads. That will go a long way to introducing her to these great artists.
{sigh] Kilgore I wish she would! I’m so sad they she has missed out on so much and isn’t interested in opening up her mind. I hope I will have some influence in the future! 🙂
Maybe when she gets a little older.
SO I hope! 🙂
Something to lighten things up for ya, Abbyrose.
You’re beautiful as you feel~ Carole King
Fox, Tapestry is a great album. All of it.
True that.
There was definitely something going on way back then.
Oops…now I’ve probably dated myself.
LOVE it!
Such a wonderful voice! And it was “discovered” by music industry insiders, because she made demos of the songs she wrote for all the Motown groups. Eventually somebody saw to it that her songs were heard in her own, deeply emotional voice.
