This tax is designed to collect $117 billion over 12 years, and the Big Banks are crying in their beer. Meanwhile……
Major U.S. banks and securities firms are on pace to pay their people about $145 billion for 2009, a record sum that indicates how compensation is climbing despite fury over Wall Street’s pay culture.
An analysis by The Wall Street Journal shows that executives, traders, investment bankers, money managers and others at 38 top financial companies can expect to earn nearly 18% more than they did in 2008
Hi Kalima! I am so excited to actually be here at the same time you are! It’s great to see you! I trust all is well with you and yours!
I had hoped that the President would drop the hammer when he got health care done. It looks like it just may be passed and Chris Matthews said the White House had “breathed a sign of relief” this afternoon. While the earthquake in Haiti has put most everything else on the back burner, this gives him a chance to come out as the strong leader I believe him to be. It’s nice to see it!
BTW, I’d love to see a video of you with your castanets, whirling in the street! LOL I can just imagine! 🙂
Hi Emerald, it’s great to see you too. We are all plodding on over here, time waits for no man, woman or child.
I saw your comment on MB the other morning, was intending to hang around for a time but got so sleepy, it’s that time of the year and I have also been busy clearing out our Junk Room upstairs. Today is Day !0 but I’ve decided to take a break until our next trash day on Tuesday. I’ve had a few laughs up there in the coldest room in our house, the things I’ve found are unbelievable and why did I buy them or who on earth thought that I needed this and that when they gave it to me, it’s been fun.
I absolutely loved the President’s statement…not only the statement, but the way he delivered it. He was pissed off royally and it showed! Good for him! It’s nice to see a little bit of that campaign “fire in the belly” coming out. I hope we see a lot more of that when it comes to fighting for the American working people! Somehow I believe we just might!
Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week's events begins tonight at 7:00PM PT. Hope to see you then!

Hey Murph!
AdLib2 hours...
Dell and many other corporations are having difficulty dealing with a workforce that is becoming obsolete with the advancement of AI technology, a problem most corporations ignored earlier, believing they have time or that they will always need the level of employees they have to provide the products and services they offer to the general public and their overseas customers.
These are not people who care about a democratic republic form of governance. For them, giving people rights is non-conducive to what they want to do, dominating and controlling everything they see in their sight line. They believe this will enhance their bottom line and make them even more decadent than they are currently.

That is one of the funniest bits on “Family Guy.”
I had a feeling that he was saving his ace card, I knew that he wouldn’t let you down once he had a handle or a grip on the HCR bill.
