This is a periodic theme for our music thread but this week’s edition goes out to the Occupy Wall Street protesters and movement. Songs about protest, fighting back, youth and change are all welcome in this tribute to people making a difference and taking action to stop the powerful and wealthy in their tracks.

I’ve Had Enough – The Who

We’re Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister

Rockin’ in the Free World – Neil Young

I Won’t Back Down – Tom Petty

Revolution – The Beatles

Your turn!

  1. The weekend is past us now, but I”ve been thinking of a great American hero lately and here is one of his favorite songs;

    And this is a song that keeps him in loving memory’

    L7 -- Wargasm

    My favorite anti-war song. “Wave your flags high in the air / As long as long as it takes place over there.” (Warninng: the lyrics are appropriately explicit.)

    The Who -- Silas Stingy

    Is Silas one of the greedy 1%, or is he just an old guy clinging to what he has left because he’s run out of options?

    Not quite your traditional protest song, but I think it qualifies. When I was a teen in the mid 70’s, I played this almost every day, Black Sabbath “War Pigs”, this is live, it’s fun to see young Ozzy make up some lyrics as he goes along

    How about a little anarchy(in the UK)?
