One time I was out campaigning for a low level office, and had a neighbor a couple of blocks away from me, the mother of my son’s good friend for 4 years, say to me “I would invite you in, but I don’t let Democrats in my house.” Yes sir, that’s right, welcome to middle class suburban ignorance. Many of them arrive here and think they are living large. Livin the dream. I too, am tired of the old “welfare queens up north lie. My good GOP girlfriend just told me that her sister lost her job because she was drinking on the job, and now she is on social security disability because she suddenly has back issues. But i will say that in my experience, many working women and married women, and union women are Democrats. I have met many, many, ignorant Republican women who never had to work and it is painful for me to listen to them. They tow the GOP party line because they are too dumb to know better or because they just mimic what their “hard working” husbands say. Their husbands, of course, work harder than anyone else’s husband and they have the “I’ve got mine, you go get your own,” attitude. The next question to little miss BonBon, should have been “How has it affected his views?” “Which ones in regard to Egypt?” But because it was not probed further, I would have to say it was a set up situation. And King certainly would not stand up for Obama, and he acted despicably and said he still believes Obama is a Muslim. The guy is a moron and reminded me of a used car dealer. “Well the car is clearly dented and rusty.” “No, its supposed to be that way, it came like that.” Maybe we should assemble a group of teenagers that agree with us and tell them to talk about what they think about Palin, Boehner, the religious right, and anti-abortionists who kill people and think its justified. But I also met engineers who were hugely educated in the arts and everything else, hungry for learning. I think that hunger has a lot to do with it also. I see the same problem with nurses and other techies I have met who dont have that liberal arts to balance the technical. The goal should be lifelong learning. Dont stop.
