Then we’d be mirroring the Mother Ship. My pea brain is going to approach this like one giant team research project — call it investigative journalism/reporting as it were — and the gathering of facts is just the beginning. Oh, and I do believe identifying ourselves as former HPers, stating why we left will give us more credibility and have a greater impact. What AdLib had to say yesterday makes sense: “First, I think for such a letter to have impact, it needs to be detailed instead of presenting general criticisms. We could use this thread to coalesce the specifics and details of what we want to say in this letter. I think it would be positive to recap some history in the letter first: a. I am also a Recovering HPer and have reduced my peeking to maybe a couple of times a week now. I must confess it’s been difficult, but survivable; does amazing things to lower the blood pressure as well. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 23, 2009 @ 6:33 am Hey abby, Welcome to the Planet! It’s so nice to see familiar names here, and so many of my “favorites” departing the Mother’s Ship! π » Posted By boomer1949 On December 23, 2009 @ 6:27 am I just did as well. california49sd57 I spy, I spy. I had no idea the MotherShip was putting out her own egregious promotional videos too! Thank you, thank you! » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 1:23 pm Absolutely beyond waaaay cool! » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 11:25 am Yes, it’s the season; only wish I’d seen Sheh’s “Surprised Kitten” video before I replied to you. I’ve watched it several times and am still laughing. I reread my idiotic reply to your weekend edition of Un(der) Reported. It was whiney, not to mention rude. Sorry for being such a Witch. π » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 9:30 am I’m willing to sign my real name; I’ve done so for other things. However, I will go with the majority since I believe it’s a group/community decision. Oh, and I liked her so much better when she wasn’t popping up on my television screen on a daily basis. It troubles me that everyone is being seduced to board the “MotherShip.” » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 9:02 am Aha, the minute I saw he is a Psychologist and Professor at Emory, I knew his conclusions would be questionable. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 8:57 am nellie, I’m in, but will need some guidance. Everyone here has so much more experience than I — sometimes I feel a teeny weeny intimidated. Nevertheless, I’m willing to push up my sleeves and do whatever I can for the cause. I think after the New Year is best as well. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 8:50 am Cher, Thanks for asking. I learned something NEW today! » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 1:13 pm nellie, Only three times? It is going to take me the entire weekend to digest all of the information. You are in much better shape than I. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 12:51 pm MEDIA COVERAGE OF HEALTH CARE REFORM Cher, Thank you – how true. The MSM looks only for ratings. Headlines are hyped. Teasers and segues have taken a tabloid turn. The only “news” many people see or hear comes from the non news programs which only focus on celebrity (I won’t bore you with a list). Uncle Walter has been spinning in his grave, and I doubt he will stop any time soon. And yes, thank you Bill Moyers. Unfortunately, the folks who should be watching his program are too busy watching Family Guy. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 3:56 am Patsy, I watch NOW every week; fantastic, informative program. You are right, it needs to be expanded. Thirty minutes is not enough time. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 3:42 am The look on Lieberman’s face? They’re Republicans, » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 8:25 am Dear God, What a way to start my day! Have you considered stand up? 2nd City in Chicago just celebrated its 50th Anniversary; I’m sure they are open to new talent. On the other hand, I bet Al Franken could put you in touch with the right people. Heck, maybe he even has the name of a good agent. As for Coburn? What goes around comes around, and he will get his in the end! » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 4:14 am E’cat, Undoubtedly! » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 4:05 am Thank you Sue; I am glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to do something that didn’t require over stimulation of the brain cells. I have a friend who will not watch serious television programs or attend serious movies. Why? To quote her, “I don’t want to have to think.” I guess that’s okay, but ALL the time? Same when I attempt to write — sometimes I need to let the old cells thaw out. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 3:26 am The Rules of the Road (aka Terms of Use) https://planetpov.com/faq/terms-of-use/ » Posted By boomer1949 On December 21, 2009 @ 1:40 pm π » Posted By boomer1949 On December 21, 2009 @ 12:47 pm Can you imagine what they’re like sans a quarrel? » Posted By boomer1949 On December 21, 2009 @ 11:45 am You know…brain, thought, fingertips, keyboard, type, and submit? π Somwhere in that chain of events, Sue hit submit before my thought made it to my keyboard. π » Posted By boomer1949 On December 21, 2009 @ 11:42 am You took the words right off my keyboard! » Posted By boomer1949 On December 21, 2009 @ 11:37 am Health Care Bill Clears Senate Test One of many reasons I abandoned the “MotherShip.” I knew I could learn so much from the talented and humble folks here. My mind is a terrible thing to waste. π » Posted By boomer1949 On December 21, 2009 @ 1:11 pm The 7 Mountains of Influence In Culture and Why You Should Be Concerned Thank you Sue. My daughter’s friend became very involved in Campus Crusade while in college; she had a significant change in personality and behavior. She believed her “job” was to reach as many people as she could, including close friends and relatives. To that end, she was always asking for donations so she could pay her rent, buy food, pay the light bill; all so she could continue her “ministry.” For her work-study student friends, this was an enormous pill to swallow since they were actually working and going to school. I wish I had $100 for each time one of them said they thought she had gone off the deep end and joined a cult. » Posted By boomer1949 On December 21, 2009 @ 3:56 amComments Posted By boomer1949
