Need you say more?

The “It’s a clinker” came last year during the campaign when Candidate Obama came into town on a Sunday…ooops…and had the audacity to attend church, and, and, and, OMG he actually spoke…in a church! Scary place…very scary place…NW OH. Any area West of of Interstate 71 begins to tread into Crispy Critter’s claim to the state.

Okay…Jeopardy Question of the day (winner gets to have turkey at Emerald’s and then go play Wii at Scher’s…Who is “Crispy Critter?”

So let’s see…

If we have Emerald’s turkey, your partner’s Wii, and we all show up, we should have a fabulous PPOV partay!

Scheh…

re: Sue’s 10 year old grandson. I have 3 grandkids…8, 5, & 3. They’re never the problem. The “Problem Award” goes to? Their mom — my daughter — she’s 37. Not cute at 37 — trust me!

Sue,

My daughter teaches in a small Northwest Ohio town. Poor thing can’t go to Walmart, Meijer, the Mall, or the restroom without hearing…”Mom! There’s Mrs. D!”

Of course, it’s usually after school or on the weekend. No make-up, sweat pants, etc., etc. But she has to :-), otherwise someone will be offended and report her to the school board. Like being a Doc, but the pay is much less.

Emerald,

You can write “PISS and vinegar” if you so desire, you won’t be sent to the moderator’s office. πŸ™‚

Great news — we’re all so happy for you!

javaz,

kind of like the MSM voting HP and Ari the go to place and person for unbiased “journalism?”

Just goes to show what continuous concussions do to a football player’s brain.

A Festivus Message

Marion,

Oh thank goodness. I didn’t ask before I did, but I did anyway. I’ve sent this to Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and a very good writer friend gave you a great thumbs up. I know it will go beyond our cyber walls. Woohoo!!

» Posted By boomer1949 On December 24, 2009 @ 9:38 pm

Welcome dannie! Great group here at the Planet, heh, heh. It’s amazing what civility, respect, and compassion does for one’s mindset.

» Posted By boomer1949 On December 24, 2009 @ 9:35 pm

Eeeeew! I remember — what a nightmare!

» Posted By boomer1949 On December 24, 2009 @ 12:05 am

marion,

My sentiments exactly…Bravo!!Bravo!! Excellent piece, no holds barred, and speaks volumes; a privilege to read. And, in all honesty, catharsis (for me too) at it’s best.

Again…Bravo!!

btw — I’m sure I’m older than nellie to “stands on chair,” so I just sent the link to my dear Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

Oh… Meh… Gawd!

Scheherazade,

Reminds me of A Beautiful Mind.

No Matter What Americans Say They Want a Leviathan in Charge

KQuark,

I just finished reading Andrew Sullivan.

What really gripes my tush and makes my blood boil are those who continue to criticize President Obama. They are conveniently (or ignorantly) ignoring what has been accomplished in the last twelve months.

Of course, the RW Republicans are just pissed off — like a bunch of grumpy old farts — because Mr. Obama is forging ahead with or without them.

Although I don’t agree with everything that’s transpired, I can honestly say I’m comfortable having this man running things and representing us and our nation.

C-SPAN Caller Fears Prayers for Byrd’s Death Affected Inhofe

nellie,

I decided a long time ago that the whole lot of them are dumber than a box of rocks. Come to think of it, the damn rocks are smarter!

Survivorman Circa 2009: Somewhere in NE Georgia Hospital

AdLib,

We’re also extremely fortunate because God and His Aunt both chose to speak to all of us. Not every blog can add those two to its list of contributors.

KQ,

I felt so much better afterward that I hadn’t really realized how sick I was. A good friend said she couldn’t believe the difference and wouldn’t have had she not seen my recovery.

nellie,

Actually the best part was that my ex-husband was there with me because of our kids. Mr. Dilaudid and I embarrassed the Hell out of him because we were running off at the mouth and being impertinent. πŸ™‚

» Posted By boomer1949 On December 22, 2009 @ 4:43 pm

KQ,

An excellent list. We must be our own advocates, and we should always have someone who can pick up the slack when we’re unable.

I wound up in the ER several years ago. I kept telling them I was sure it was my gallbladder and the doctors just stared at me. Kept telling me why it wasn’t — because all the tests were coming back negative. The yahoos decided to keep me overnight for observation; did one more test at 7 the next morning. Came back at 9 and told me they were going to release me because they couldn’t find anything.

Well, I was on Dilaudid for pain and had just had a full dose. I told them I was refusing to go home, had them call my family doc (who sent me to the ER to begin with) and my surgeon from a previous operation. When I said call my surgeon, I got, “You have a surgeon?” I said you’re damn straight I do. They found her, she came to see me, had me admitted, and added me to her surgery schedule that day. Mr. Dilaudid and I had a wonderful afternoon.

I was released the next day, but when the doc came to see me right before she signed me out, she told me it was a good thing I refused to leave. My gallbladder was so diseased that had I gone home it would’ve ruptured, and I would’ve been dead within 48 hours.

I hate it when they (the docs) think we’re stupid and don’t know our own bodies well enough to know when something just ain’t right. Jeeze!

Feel better, and as AdLib wrote, we’re all thinking about you.

HP Truth Campaign

Cher,

Oh I know. If my memory serves me correctly, dim bulb that I am, Facebook was just the beginning. It’s what’s developed since then that has become a crime.

Cher,

Here’s something I just read over there:

Cher,

I saw the red flag when we were asked to link to Facebook…it’s gone down a slippery sloap from there.

» Posted By boomer1949 On December 23, 2009 @ 11:33 am

Cher,

Compare and Contrast, yep sounds good to me. But then again, I’m only starting to think I’m brilliant; you might not want to rely too much on my blinding light. πŸ™‚

abby,

Me? Experienced? Trust me I often feel like a fish out of water, little fish in a big pond kind of thing. That said, I have learned so much in my short tenure here that I’m starting to think I’m brilliant πŸ™‚

» Posted By boomer1949 On December 23, 2009 @ 10:43 am

nellie,

I hear you; just misunderstood the “what sour grapes?”

I still think it’s a brilliant idea and am with you regarding waiting until next month; not something which can be accomplished overnight and it’s important that it’s done well and with 150% credibility. πŸ™‚
