Pessimism in the Age of Mass Manipulation and Plutocracy…

First let me say kudos to you dear abby for a very thought provoking post !! When I graduated college in the early 70’s a group of very close and loved friends and I debated buying some land and starting a commune !! It got pretty close to happening but some of us got cold feet so it never came to fruition. I must say that there are days that I wish we went through with it. Life in the “real world” can get so frustrating and mind numbing !! So what does one do ? We can go on with our daily lives ignoring all around us and paying little mind to politics and the world around us —- but we wouldn’t be posting on web sites if that were the case. We can stay involved and try to change things, live OUR lives the way we would want others to live theirs. Raise and educate our children to be aware, open minded and be respectful of all people !! Live our lives proudly and know that we have done something to help others is also so important, volunteering can do wonders for one’s spirit too !! But we must also take the time to ENJOY our lives, feel the sun on your face, enjoy the beauty of nature, spend more time with our families and never never stop reading, traveling, learning and growing !!!! —– Peace —-

Hi all, I thought I read yesterday that Reid wasn’t going to push the anti-trust issue !! I was very upset to read this because I think it is a vital part of any health care bill !! Hi all I will not visit Huff Po from midnight to midnight!! The Grayson comments caught my eye. I too have cringed a bit lately. I really like the guy. But he should dial it back a little. I would hate for him to be thought of as a joke. Glad to be with all of you !! Bluejoni2525

I See A Lot of Familiar “Faces”

Hi there I’m still trying to get used to it here. I haven’t posted much yet. I do love reading all my favorites here though. You caught my eye when you mentioned Marcos. That is Marcos S. if I am not mistaken right?? The other day I was going back and forth with her and she threatened me about not adhering to HP policy and how bad things happen to those who don’t!! I told her that I didn’t take kindly to threats and she couldn’t take any criticism. What a bully ! I don’t mean to bring that negativity here, but I thought it was interesting.I don’t know what they are thinking over there because they’re driving out great posters. I guess that is it for now. Thanks for the info AdLib!! Posting without dashes and spaces will be great and will take awhile to get used to. The lack of respect for longtime posters is terrible. I am a fairly new poster to Huff Po (this year) and I love to read all of you so much !! I used to frequent right wing sites (where I was the “troll”)like Beck’s 9-12 site. They had a very low tolerance for us “trolls” there. I was banned twice and then banned for good on the new site. Their administrator said he found out where I lived and was going to send someone to my house. I didn’t believe him I knew he was trying to intimidate me. I don’t know why I am spewing all this but it is an odd little story. I know some of those horrible “people from that site go to Huff Po and they would stop at nothing to get some posters. I had one post a reply on Huff Po like “Bluejoni2525 I remember you. New home not for long”. Thanks for listening !! Will talk soon Bluejoni2525

Hi everyone I miss you all very much !! I am glad I can read you here. I know everyone is working to get you back. I saw some weird stuff going on last night with new posters.
