I just feel that the GOP may becoming the Whig Party with their purging. » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 5:52 pm A little fun news from your buddy Murdoch, Kalima :http://thinkprogress.org/2009/11/09/murdoch-beck-right/ » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 5:26 pm I read the story about the “tea bag party” in FL. this morning @Think Progress. What are they going to do? Split the 18% the GOP has? » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 3:48 pm That word “takfiris” I have only heard used by reporters living in Pakistan. they were all trying to explain their disgust of the “common folk” of their veiw of the taliban. Odd, you never here that word from the talking heads. lol » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 3:43 pm That’s sick. Plain sick. » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 3:13 pm Are the Mullahs in Iran any different than what the Pakistanis call the Taliban in their country? Takfiris, Common street thugs, extortionists, gangsters….. All in the name of some “purity of the Faith”. » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 2:56 pm I do not pretend to know the answer, but I do worry about whom will pay the collectors, reporters of the news. My local paper just dropped McClatchy News service and they have had to curtail some of their international offices. It is an all AP paper. » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 3:08 pm Kalima, Good morning! While I have as much sympathy for Murdoch and his NewsCorp as I do for Bernie “Made-off” complaints about his shackles being too tight, I do worry about groups that aggregate the news. Sites that charge their advertisers based on their “clicks” and do not share their reveune with the actual people that do the fact gathering is having a detrimental affect on their news gathering. Do sites like HuffPo help defray the costs of actually having a staff in Iraq,London,Tokyo….? Where will our “news come from when the reporters are gone? Will the web be left with only Facebook accounts of their dog peeing? How is it possible to write an informed opinion without some basis of facts? (Goodness, I am agreeing with “Pox Snooze 🙂 ) » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 2:18 pm Some Interesting Stats Re Congressional Reps/HC Industry Dollars Thanks. Is that BC/BS ? » Posted By bito On November 9, 2009 @ 6:05 pm The filibuster is covered under “Senate Rule 22”. I Will have to do a search on when it was first imposed. “The Nation” had a good article on it a while ago. As far as your objection with the Senate, that was the “grand compromise” of the convention. Blame Madison. The very word “Democracy” cannot be found in the constitution. The word “republic is used. Fair, unfair? I would hate to see a reopening of the Constitution when most people believe that the “Bill of Rights”need to be changed. » Posted By bito On November 8, 2009 @ 5:18 pm Time to go and do my drugs!LOL meds. see you all soon. From stage 4 to remission -as of right now. » Posted By bito On November 7, 2009 @ 7:01 pm Thanks Kalima, but my potassium is fine and dandy. No cramps but some other really bad effects of not enough of just plain old table salt. That’s what I mean — weird. » Posted By bito On November 7, 2009 @ 6:57 pm If we don’t GOTV in the midterms, he will be the next speaker. I am bit perplexed?
Someone help me with this and who said it. At one time a Rep was accused of taking too much money from the lobbyists and he stated:
A Rep worth his salt will smoke their cigars, take their money, drink their best whiskey and screw their “women”. Then vote against them!
I believe it was during the 50’s.
Next Repug bill
3 months at a time.
Weird!
