Yes, I like Laurie Anderson, she creates interesting stuff. The concert must have been great! I watched a few videos with her and Lou Reed, and thought it was interesting how they communicated through music. Then I came to find out that they are married – makes a lot of sense!

Ok, it was only the Eurovision Song Contest and although it’s not at all apparent, the contest is about the composers and not about the performers. Still I think Anna Rossinelli (because of whom I paid attention to the show in the first place) should have been amongst the top 5 (and most certainly not last!!!). Not the best song, but an excellent band from Basel, Switzerland:

And yes, getting people like Rachel and KO to speak out was one of the main reasons for the Emerald series – nobody seemed to react on the so called progressive credentials right after the AOL deal (let alone earlier). I’m glad that we’re too slow and they come around on their own…

Yes, it’s incredible how the msm DON’T report about large demonstrations if they are not from the right. I always wondered about that, but especially on the HuffPo!

So it is excellent if you post about US Uncut and other good work time and again. As I’ve said before, it gives such another perspective seeing the work so many people are doing as opposed to being force-fed depressing “news” where nothing can be done about.

🙂 The one who put up this video said it was in Basel, and I think I do recognize the Kaserne building in the background.

In India today, ‘Pandit’ is an honour conferred on an expert of any subject or field, especially Indian classical music. Its usage is confined to Hindu male exponents. Muslim male musicians are bestowed with the title ‘Ustad’, and the terms ‘Vidushi’ and ‘Begum’ are used for Hindu and Muslim female exponents respectively.
