Moreover there are several strong movements around at the very same time. (Since you have more oversight over these it would be great if you could write an article at one point about the biggest movements.) There was also the Unity rally before the midterms. So those big movements that I know of are “Save the American Dream”, “US Tax Uncut” and the Unity one (whose name I already don’t recall, because they are not all the time in the media). Moreover the unity rally was much more powerful than Stewarts’ (though I liked Stewarts’ and Colberts’ too), but there was nearly NO advertisement on Huff, and only reluctant coverage, and which came on only because we all were talking about nothing other than the Unity rally and were demanding live videos! You introduce us everyday to more movements and initiatives, so I don’t know if I had a practical idea here. Yet it would be good to get information about what they are doing right now and to figure out how to connect them, if they are not already connecting. CONSERVATIVES BACKING DOWN: There is evidence that the massive groundswell of legislative disobedience and grassroots protests that have erupted all over the country have started to succeed in forcing conservative governments to back down. Despite the passage of Indiana’s right-to-work bill out of a House committee, Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-IN) “signaled [yesterday] afternoon that Republicans should drop the…bill that has brought the Indiana House to a standstill for two days and imperiled other measures.” Conservative Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) refused to endorse Walker’s anti-union bill for his own state, saying, “My belief is as long as people know what they’re doing, collective bargaining is fine.” Right-wing Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett (R) also said he has no plans to enact a Wisconsin-style law. Although in Michigan, Gov. Snyder does plan to take aim at public worker compensation, he so far has said he’s “not interested in making Michigan a right-to-work state, or going wholesale after the bargaining rights of unionized workers.” One reason these conservatives may be backing down is because they realize Main Street America is against their anti-middle class agenda. It’s great that I now know the meaning of the Brueghel picture. I think when I was a child my mother, who is from Holland, had a poster of this picture somewhere (or maybe another Brueghel picture), but I never knew about the meaning. I just found it a somewhat scary picture. As for your humbleness: I understand your reasoning, although I find you are simply too humble here. The section is called Art Corner, and not Buddy’s Art Corner, so everybody understands they can post here, and I think they’ll do over time, or some as soon as they discover the new section. AdLib also planned to shift existing Art work into this category. In any case, if within one week or so nobody is posting, I hope you post something new. After all there are several categories that were created and then not really used soon afterwards.
