The Mueller Hearing? Your Response….

As a Democrat, I will not vote in the primary for a candidate who does not support impeachment. THAT is my part.

» Posted By TOCB On July 31, 2019 @ 4:16 pm

The bottom line is that Democrats control the House and the House has the sole power to impeach the president, while the Senate has the sole power to remove him from office. The Senate cannot impeach and the House cannot remove from office.

In fact, the Senate cannot even remove from office UNLESS the House FIRST impeaches. The process begins in House. Right now, the Democratic controlled House is the only governmental body with the authority to hold president accountable for the crimes he has committed.

If Mitch McConnell is asked why he did not remove trump from office, right how all he has to say is that trump was not impeached by the House. In other words, the Democrats did not believe trump has committed impeachable offenses. Otherwise, they would impeach him.

I think THAT will do more harm to Democrats in 2020 than ANY policy position being debated.

Trump has given us enough evidence and we have had enough time to examine the evidence, so it is not rushing in, to carry out justice. It is time to rush the hill and take our country back. If the House do their part in LEADING THE CHARGE ON THE GROUND, we have to have confidence that the American people will do their part in bringing in air support. It is time to shit or get off the pot!.

Everywhere I go, more people are talking about impeachment than ANYTHING else. Politicians need to get out of their bubbles and listen to their constituents. At this crucial time we don’t need a vote whip, but rather stateswomen and statesmen. I saw a bumper sticker the other day here in Texas that said, “Trump in 2020”. To me, that sticker said, “I am a racist”.

EXACTLY!

I think Pelosi and Democratic leadership are dead wrong in that strategy. A lot of people don’t participate in the democratic process because they don’t believe their votes counts. Having a House majority who refuses to do their job supports that sentiment. What difference does it make if Democrats get more evidence of trump’s crimes IF they are not going to do anything about it? The only thing that supports is that the votes of now 77% of the Democratic base does not matter. What then is the incentive for supporting Democrats???

The House can complete an impeachment trial in two weeks. Then it goes to the Senate. The Senate could also complete their part in two weeks and they may very well do that to prevent being in a conviction trial during a campaign season, especially since they have no defense for not removing trump from office. At any rate, impeachment and removal of trump SHOULD BE part of the political discussion in 2020. It helps Democrats in that discussion IF they have done their part. If the House does not impeach trump, the Senate does not have to defend the indefensible of not removing him from office. To me, this is a no-brainer!

No prudent person needed Mueller to confirm trump committed obstruction of justice, as he OPENLY did it boldly and unapologetically. It is also evident to a prudent person that he knew of and encouraged his team to work with Russia to influence the election. In fact, he publicly said so. You might recall he said that Flynn was simply doing his job by talking to Russia before the inauguration about relieving sanctions, and if Flynn had not done this, trump said he would have instructed him to do so. Of course, he did not actually say “sanctions”, but he knew that is what Flynn talked about.

Trump has several problems, one of which is that he is as dumb as a rock. He is also a crook, a demagogue, a con man, a psychopath and a narcissist. Did I miss anything?

I got the impression from Pelosi’s comments yesterday that she is leaning more toward impeachment. It now becomes more of a logistics issue.

Pelosi said her goal is to build such a strong case for removal from office that it would make the Senate look bad in the eyes of voters if they don’t remove trump after the House impeaches him. I like that approach better than what she previously said about a bipartisan impeachment. Yes, it would be nice if republicans put the country’s interest above their perceived party interest, but I don’t expect them to do that.

Although Mueller did not commit to saying trump and his minions conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election (which they clearly did and Mueller documents much of it in his report), he did say trump attempted to obstruct justice, AND THE ENTIRE WORLD SAW AND HEARD TRUMP ATTEMPT TO OBSTRUCT JUSTICE IN REAL TIME.

Of course, I would have begun impeachment even before the Mueller report, but I was willing to wait for the report. Now that the report is released, there is no excuse for not impeaching trump. I really think it is better for everyone that the republican Senate does not remove trump from office, because if they did, Pence would become president a SURELY pardon trump. If trump remains in office as an impeached president, voters will likely hold that against the entire republican party.

Trump Claims The Women in The Squad Are “The Real Male Chauvinists”

Adlib, this is why I like to post a video of some of the things people say. Otherwise, who would believe the President of The United States of America would say such a stupid thing?

“Trump advanced his new strategy in also accusing the four Congresswomen of being misogynists. “Not only do they hate people of other races but these Democrat women are the real male chauvinists! They purposely act empowered and confident just to threaten insecure male egos so men will turn around and oppress women. This is what they want! Because next to being racist, socialist, Communist, plastic straw haters, these women don’t see women as equals. If they had their way, women wouldn’t be able to be as free as men. They wouldn’t have the right to go where they wanted to go, do what they wanted to do or be gainfully employed in the many human trafficking opportunities available to them,”

And what about this one? Remember trump saying that he really WANTED to release his tax returns IF they were not under audit, but because they are under audit his accountants advised him not to release them? Well, apparently the House Ways and Means Committee actually has trump’s tax returns because the court ruled that trump’s argument against Congress having the power or authority to get them was childish.

So what does trump do? He sues the committee to prevent them from releasing the tax returns. Theoretically, I suppose it makes sense that Congress would not release anyone’s tax returns to the public, as even if the returns are found to have damaging information, that information is private until the person is convicted of something related to those returns. HOWEVER, how does it look to a prudent person (not a trump supporter, but a prudent person) that he would sue to prevent the release of tax returns that he CLAIMS he wants to release???

Some things these people say are unbelievable. You wouldn’t think the mind of a person who completed law school would process words in that manner. Trump is not a racist because if you are for him he would NOT send you back to your ancestors country of origin? What a STUPID thing to say? Unless of course, you are a racist.

And some of the so-called politically strategic things they say are equally stupid. Graham also said that if Democrats impeach trump, republicans will win the House and the Senate and trump will be re-elected in 2020. Other than Nancy Pelosi, who would believe such a stupid thing. In reality, if Democrats DON’T impeach trump, that scenario will no doubt play out.

Is America Racist?

The primary basis for racism is ignorance. Ignorance in turn, often influences humans to do evil things. Therefore, ignorance and evil are often intertwined.

» Posted By TOCB On July 24, 2019 @ 4:02 am

Racialism and racism. An interesting comparison. As I appreciate it, racialism is an attempt to justify racism by making the case that scientifically or genetically, people of different skin tones and cultures are of a different race other than the human race or homo sapiens, or within the human race. In essence the terms are synonymous.

We elected an African American President because we are not racialist. We rendered him powerless because we are racist. Why then, do we as Americans want race to be the central issue of our public life (Unless you are non-white)?

“Non-white” people don’t want race to be the central issue of our public life. THAT is actually a racist statement/belief. “Non-white” people don’t choose for race to be a central issue in our lives, white people actually FORCE that on us. If white people treat “non-white” people like they treat each other or like they want to be treated themselves, there would be no reason to even consider “race”. Do “non-white” people ask to be treated differently? If YOU were treated differently than others, would that be an issue for YOU?

Trump: The Storm Of Our Own Making

I am sure you are aware that although the preamble to the Constitution begins with, “We the people”, many people could not initially participate in the democratic process outlined in the Constitution. That has changed over the years and that is something all Americans SHOULD be proud of, in one sense. In 1789, only white male landowners could participate in the democratic process, and even with this select group, the Electoral College was created to basically counterfeit what this select group did if the college thought they made a mistake.

Today, “We the people” includes all Americans. It is absolutely frightening to me that most Americans would choose someone like Trump over someone like Hillary Clinton, even with the many lies about her that were promoted for over two decades. Although Trump frightens and angers me, I am not disappointed or surprised in things he does and says, because I expect someone of his character to do and say those kinds of things. What really disappoints me are my fellow Americans, and quite frankly the Electoral College system. Reality is that had it not been for the Electoral College system, Hillary would be president and the USA would still be a beacon of hope in the world.

I heard Bill Weld say the other day that if the republican party continues in the manner it has operated since Trump took it over, the party will become known as the party of racists. I hate to disappoint Mr. Weld, but the republican party has been known as the party of racist for decades. All Trump did is answer the call of the party.

What do they see in Trump? A Look at the Psyche of the Trump Voter….and why it so mis-leads them

In 1956 the Republican Party did not have white southern Democrats in it, although black people could not vote or live and work with white people in most of the country, north, south, east and west. This is the period of time trump and his supporters think was GREAT.

Your analysis of why trump’s supporters stick with him reminds of a song written by Curtis Mayfield, The Cocaine Song. Trump is the Pusherman/ Con Artist. However, a very large factor in their support for trump is racism and fear of the rapidly changing demographics of the USA.

I’ve met many people over the years
And in my opinion I have found that
People are the same everywhere
They have the same fears
Shed similar tears
Die in so many years
The oppressed seem to have suffered the most
In every continent – coast to coast
Now our lives are in the hands of The Pusherman
We break it all down
In hopes that you might understand
Don’t make no profit for The Man

They Hate Our Country?

Apparently the majority of the House Democrats agree with trump at the end of the day, as they voted with republicans to kill an impeachment resolution. Either they believe trump has committed impeachable offenses or not. If they are not willing to impeach him, they obviously don’t believe he has committed impeachable offenses. And if they continue with hearings and subpoenas, without a willingness to impeach, they look like they are just playing politics and harassing the president. That can’t bold well for Democrats in 2020. It appears that Democrats have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by letting trump get away with murder when they have it within their power to hold him accountable. If you can’t trust Democrats with a little power, why should you give them more power?

“Go Back to Where You Came From…”

Trump is saying he didn’t say “Send her back”, but rather his supporters, who he called patriots for chanting that, said it. Democrats should run not only on trump being a racist, but that the GOP is a racist party that is supported by racist voters. What are the chances of racist republicans voting for ANY Democrat, including Biden? IF anyone who voted for trump in 2016, votes for a Democrat in 2020, the reason will be because they are not a racist and won’t support a racist party. Democrats will build on their voter base by appealing to people who don’t normally vote and a huge turnout from the base. It is a total waste of time and energy for Democrats to try to appease racist republican voters.

You are entitled to your opinion. As you know, I think that approach enables trump and his supporters. If a child or a criminal or anyone misbehaves with no consequences, what do you think that person will do? My guess is they will continue to misbehave. Not holding trump accountable due to perceived political consequences is effectively condoning his actions. What most congressional republicans are saying about trump’s racism is essentially that yes, trump is a racist, but that is ok because I am a racist as well. Congressional Democrats likewise are saying, yes trump is a crook but that is ok because I am afraid to confront crooks. When I asked the question of should we allow ourselves to be as low as republicans, your answer as I receive it is, yes.

» Posted By TOCB On July 18, 2019 @ 7:27 am

If the “bulk” of the voting public actually wants trump to remain in office, THIS is a “shithole” country. One definition of a “shithole” country is one whose voters elect an “asshole” as their leader. I absolutely reject the notion that the majority of Americans want trump to remain in office. Will republicans vote to remove him? NOT A SNOWBALL’S CHANCE IN HELL! Should the rest of us allow ourselves to be as low as republicans are, for ANY reason? We each have to answer that question for ourselves, including the Speaker of The House. There is no doubt in my mind that 100% of the 137 Democrats who voted to kill the impeachment resolution believe trump has committed impeachable offenses AND he is unfit for the office of POTUS. However, before any of those 137 Democrats say another word about how republicans are not taking a stand against trump, they have to look in the mirror. I am of the conviction that WE as a people, get the government we deserve. If WE are not willing to reject trump by using the constitutionally legal tools WE have been entrusted with, then WE deserve trump.

This latest intentional vile bigotry will likely cost him a million votes in terms of voters he losses and new voters we get, etc. unless the Dems F it.

Don’t look now, but I think congressional Democrats have already F’d it up. You and I disagree on this, but I think the unwillingness to impeach trump makes him look stronger than Democrats, and as I have said before, most people prefer strong and wrong over weak and right, or even weak and wrong. Democrats look weak.

Plutocratic Rot

Justice John Paul Stevens was appointed to the federal court by Nixon and to the Supreme Court by Ford. Some say he was the leader of the liberals on the court when he was there. What he really was, was an impartial justice. He did not consider his ideology or the ideology of the president when he considered a case. He simply applied the law. I get a lot of flack when I say there should not be liberal or conservative judges, but rather impartial judges. It should not matter if a judge graduated from Harvard or Yale, or from a state university. What should matter is that a judge has a history of impartially applying the law. Supreme Court justices don’t make laws. They interpret the laws that are made by the legislative branch as to the constitutionality of those laws. There is no liberal Constitution or conservative Constitution. Liberals and conservatives are subject to the same Constitution. As long as we make our laws liberal and conservative, our justice system will continue to be unjust.
