I would suggest you read the book, The Buyout of America by Josh Kosman. For a financial book it is a real easy read and tells many stories of these LBO companies. A Lot of loans are coming due in 2012-2014 and he predicts, as a result of exactly what Romney did, some major bankruptcies or perhaps another mini bailout. The story of Mervyns is a perfect example of how LBO’s are greedy assholes.

BFF don’t stop here there is another one coming out. I only got through three groups in this one……….Creepy is as creepy does but the problem is people don’t take the time to learn about their candidate. You are right this would be a disaster. all the good will President Obama has gotten back for us would go up in a puff of smoke but these people truly think US can stand alone in the world. They are isolationists until it is time to make some money then third world slaves here they come.

That was exactly the point I was trying to make. If Romney wins it is all over and people like Naomi Wolf can go back to making money off her fascism books. She is doing her best to dirty Obama. I kind of dog her comments on Twitter but she deserves it.

I just hope enough people read it and learn.

Go back and look at the video of her original comments. CNN identified her as a Dem Strategist and a CNN contributor. THEY did that in order to boost their slumping ratings. They know she is not in any way attached to the campaign yet they lied about it and if they did not know they are even more stupid than I thought. I also agree with Adlib below about choosing your battles. This was a trumped up sound bite by all the MSM and not one got her position right and all misconstrued her comment. The media is to blame for this getting out of hand and no one else. They need sensationalism in order to drive their ratings as is evidenced with all the “Breaking News” stories that are mostly not really important news.

I have almost stopped watching in total. I pick a couple shows to watch each day but read my own news. My local news covers the national news in a more rational fashion and if i need further info then I will go to the national networks.

I think Obama did fine and as First Lady it was not out of line for Michelle to make a simple statement. There was no bus to throw Hillary under because the only ones doing so were the MSM and their false claims. It is pretty difficult to throw someone under the bus who was not authorized to speak on behalf of your campaign.

Ok I can say it now. A little story:

When we went to Hawaii for the first time back in 1979 we went to the Hawaiian Cultural Center. As we went from country to country I finally figured out this place was run by the Mormon church. These people were working for the church and I don’t remember the park being called out as a Mormon run adventure. It kind of pissed me off because at the time I was so vehemently against any kind of religion.

In 1996 we went back again with my mom and brother. We stayed 4 days on Oahu and my mom wanted to go to the Hawaiian Cultural Center. I did not want to go but I knew she really really did so we agreed to take her. We stopped at the temple because again my mom. I had my revenge. I got in a smoke on temple grounds before the mormon fuzz came and told me to put it out. It was my rebellion for a sneaky religion that took my money without telling me I was supporting a church. Second time was my choice.

Michael Moody did write a book to Mitt but he had already left the church. I have met many mormon people as well and as far as their religion goes, I say live and let live, as long as they don’t try to recruit me.

It is funny I had a close friend when I was young and they were mormon. I went to sunday school with her once and her dad really did have a second wife. Apparently her mom was not complete mormon because she filed for divorce LOL>

You have a point as well but I do believe not only Mitt but others have been groomed by the church to go into politics. Many may have had ideas on the presidency but Mitt and George,Orrin Hatch and Mo Udall are the only ones who have run I think. The rest have gone after the smaller prizes. It is too bad a father’s wish for a son has been dropped onto a person so unprepared to be a world leader.

Surely you jest they would rather pick up the revisionist history of David Barton because it fits the narrative they want to hear. This is also a problem in home schooling and as the Texas textbooks enjoy more circulation, our history will be so distorted it will be difficult to know what is truth and what is fiction. Which, by the way is exactly what the right wants.

Not to fear, though, I have my Peoples’ History by Howard Zinn in hardback and on my Kindle. I can always give real history lessons.

Romney the Private Equity Consultant

Excellent call Kquark. You hit the nail on the head about honesty and the consultant, especially in his line of business. They are only responsible to ensure the fees due to the “management” company are sufficient and the hell with the rest. They even insure such an outcome by borrowing on the equity/assets of the company they are managing. It Is NEVER their money.

Mitt is a seventh generation Mormon and by that his presidency is prohetic by the church doctrine. I will explain that in the piece I am working on for future publishing. Too bad for them and their bad judgement and ours if he actually makes it. I cannot imagine him saving any constitution that is hanging by a thread. That would mean the country is at civil war and he would have no clue how to deal with that.

There is a song somewhere that in part says, “you backed the wrong horse” but I cannot remember it right now.

Edit: I remembered the song and it is somewhat appropriate. It was in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar

My goodness Kalima, you bring a piece of the world to all of us here. Because of you, we can keep up on happenings in other parts of the world, not to mention to your own insights to each post. I may not comment here each time I read it, but I do take advantage of the information you post and share it with others.

THANK YOU for being so consistent and making sure this column is updated daily and taking the time to search for articles and info we need. I sure would like to win that coffee cup with the travel lid next lol. I use my mug all the time.

Pardon me for laughing but a soldier can get pretty drunk from 7 to 8 o’clock at night, hell they can rape anytime, a curfew is a bandaid. This is not only a problem in Okinawa but in general and specifically with the “civilian” help from KBR and other contractors.
