When the Chips Were Down, Mitt Romney Cut and Ran – To France

Funk

You are too funny. Thanks for bringing some levity to my dark side in writing this piece. Hope your kids loved Madagascar 3. We did not go because my grandson went to the ocean with his aunt.

The problem is most people don’t see the damage to the other side because only our soldiers are important. I was in a humanities class during the first Gulf war and our professor told us that Kuwait had agreed to move to a democracy within a certain time frame if we helped them. I am still waiting. She traveled to Iraq as part of a peace mission before the war and was disgusted with our government. She said no real attempt was made to work things out or to at least agree to protect civilians.

Thanks Adlib. This one was really easy. I am no proponent of war so I can talk for days on why we should not do it.

You are perceptive. He once gave a speech to some Harvard business students and he described his young family as not yet paying dividends. Can you believe it? I think his wife likes the money but she may chaste under his thumb. I believe he loves her but I agree with you he comes first.

I read that book and I kind of thought he was kind to them. He certainly did give some good background though on Kevin McCarthy and that tea bagger from SCarolina. I cannot think of his name off hand. Pretty young guy. I may go back and read it again but the first time I came away with the impression he tried to put them in a good light after the initial recap of the meeting.

I hear you Nirek. When we went into Afghanistan I knew we were doomed to another Vietnam situation. I did not know alot about the Russians but I took that opportunity to read up and my suspicions were confirmed.

I am against all war but like you, I would fight for this country if we were invaded. Any sane person would. I bet Mitt would be hiding in a undisclosed bunker location.

I think of him as the Manchurian Candidate. And yes, he is very scary. I don’t believe he even has the slightest idea of what the Presidency entails. Spoiled Richie Rich has never worked hard a day in his life and I think he just might crack under the pressure of the office of President. He could very well, if he wins, cause a major riff and embarrassment for the Republican party they will never recover from. Unfortunately the country would also suffer tremendously.

I don’t hold out much hope that Republicans will come to their senses either they hate the President way too much. Enough to see this country go to hell in a handbasket.

I hear you and I completely agree with you. It is one thing to be against all wars quite another to be in favor yet refuse to serve. They had no problem calling war protestors cowards not once looking inward to their own cowardice.

Actually George Romney was also for the war until he went on a tour of SE Asia. He was running for president and he gave this interview that supposedly ruined his chances. Stay for the truncated interview of George Wallace, man had a temper. This was the Lou Gordon show. Too bad our infotainer psuedo journalists today don’t have balls like this guy.

Breaking Down MSNBC

We all know how I feel about Mr and Mrs Greenspan. Sometimes I wonder if people don’t realize just how close we are to total propaganda in our National Network News. When you have host after host propagating the same lies you, at some time, have to admit it is propaganda. Which makes us no better than USSR, Nazi Germany, Japan(in relation to the tsunami and aftermath and their actions post and prior to WWII)

Adlib

You certainly don;t have to prove that to me. Personally I despise the man. He did all of what you speak of and more. The airwaves are better off without him for sure. For supposedly being a progressive network MSNBC is pulling the wool over many people’s eyes.

Sometimes I want to slap MSNBC would have her on the air after her failure of a husband is mind boggling. If she had some principles it would be different but she has none and is an airhead to boot. She is an embarrassment to them just like the bimbos at Fake News

OM word Sally 6to12 year old kids? thanks for that too. I have alot to get working. The re-education camps Stephanie was talking about were for problem people like her so they can be re-culted again. When she was being followed around and counseled they told her she could go to a camp in Canada or Tx and get right again but she never went in to any detail. She did mention one school she went to but I have not been able to track it down either.

» Posted By SueInCa On June 11, 2012 @ 7:04 pm

Yes, thank you. The only thing with Stephanie was she did not get into detail on those re-education camps and I have been searching for something ever since. I am going to write something up for Gods Own Party this week so I will repost it here in the OT section probably Sunday. Thanks for finding them

I just have to say RATigan is really no big loss at least to me. I don’t deal in hypocrites and he is one of the biggest order.

He made his bones on WALL STREET and I am sure he left there with tons of money. Then he pretends he had some epiphany and Wall Street are all now greedy bastards. If that is so, why does he not make a few big contributions to charity? I am sure those people could use his “greedy bastard” funds. Then he uses the unemployed to run around the country on a “jobs tour” that is really to promote his book. How much lower on the human scale can he get? I will not miss Ratigan and I pity the people in the District or State that he ultimately runs for office in.

That is true but I would still like to tell him to eff off and then when he is not looking trip him. Then play conservative with my hands in the air, “what id I do?”

Thank you for this piece. I have been debating over this scenario for a long time. It is very disheartening to see people(especially people who are visible) to show very little enthusiasm for values. We have so many who claim they are values driven but they lie or they just plain do not know what real values are and when they fail in following those values, they want people to look the other way.

I have to agree with you about the right and even some of the left. It was very obvious as soon as President Obama was elected that some on the left thought he was elected just to satisfy their needs and wants. What none would admit is that they heard what they wanted to hear and not what he was really saying. In some ways I think there is also some disrespect from the left because he is a black man. I know Dems who claim to be so liberal but when it comes down to the nitty gritty they will utter racist comments. We have so much further to go but I must say the African American community has been amazingly controlled when you think of all the disrespect that has been shown to the Prez.

I wrote this piece here about a year into Obama’s administration.
I would also recommend the book I quoted in the piece. I bought it 4 years ago and when I need a lift or to be reminded of the lessons of life I scbscribe to, I pull it out and usually find something good.

I think Marty Balin probably has one of most soothing voices in rock. When I hear it I just relax completely. I was at this concert in 1982 at the Concord Pavillion

Here is the studio version. I was shocked to find the concert on youtube. That was a long time ago and we sat on the grass. Now we sit in seats 🙂
