Mainly the right who calls everyone else Facist, Socialist, Communist when all the time they are themselves learning the traits of facism and practicing the tenants themselves. I see it especially with the Dominionists I write about. I think it has been shown that Murrow did have similar issues to what the good ones have today. CBS was, at that time, moving toward the infotaining and wanted people who were brainless and all CBS had to worry about was big egos. IMHO Paley was a coward. He knew what Murrow was going to speak to and had to know his passion so nothing he said should have been a surprise. They were close friends after all. You may be right about Limbaugh but I think someone like West can be just as dangerous because he is doing his thing out of the public (general) eye. There are flashes of his attitude but no one takes him seriously. I do. I think he is one dangerous man and someone like him has the wherewithall to sneak around out of the mainstream and do his damage locally. Then from local to regional and from there to national almost all without any media scrutiny. Perhaps to laugh at him but egods it is not funny. And there are “agents” of their kind all over in government across this country. A coup from within is not out of the realm of possibility. You know I was only 5 in 1958 so I really don;t remember any of that. I do know what is going on now and to tell the truth I am reading a WWII set of novels and from my previous research on that time period I see the right using the tactics the facists did in Nazi Germany. It is kind of hard to explain but in their dealings(especially the religious right) they seem to revere facist ideals while at the same time they call everyone else who disagrees with them facists. I think some of them pretend to not know the difference so they can fool people. I just may do some more research on the subject and write it up here. The only sorry point of all of this is the people I have mentioned do not have a daily platform except for Amy Goodman and Thom Hartman and they are not on the “regular” stations. Said 60 minutes was intentionally putting Israel in a bad light. 60 Minutes and Kroft stood their ground and aired the show. Because it was all true and the Israelis have walled in those Christians. Where there was a robust population of approx 32k it is half that now. And the Israelis did that to them. I hear you about black and white tv. I can remember coming home from kindergarten and my mom was watching As the World Turns. I also remember Romper Room and Captain Kangeroo. I am sure my parents watched Murrow but I have no recollection of the show. I am such a fan of Moyers and I just wish he had more of a mainstream exposure. He would probably cause problems similar to Murrow and our lamestream media could not handle it. The Truth sometimes does hurt but the truth will also set you free. {sigh} I know and I could not have said it better. To tell the truth I do believe we are coming to a melting point. That black man in the White House was just too much for some white trash and they have guns. I think to myself that I just want to hide in my little town and avoid it all but I know I won’t be able to do that. That is why we bought another house. We decided that the money my husband has sitting in a 401k is better spent on a home for us than losing it in the stock market. We still have mine to lose but I guess we will have to take our chances on that.
Looks like our fasting from the MSM is actually a really good thing. You know I don’t really miss them. I read a hell of a lot more now.
