From a union worker family standpoint…

This is a planned action by the Repub governors, as discussed on Ed’s show. Look at Ohio next. There are ads targeting unions circulating on TV in many states.

Wow. That’s so sad. How anyone can attempt to bestow some kind of ‘sainthood’ on him is beyond me.

I remember the air traffic controllers strike very well. In fact, I had a very good friend, at the time, who was studying for the exam. I remember my exact thought, “Reagan is an asshole”.

The Deficit of Truth About Obama’s Budget

This is a link from “BlackWaterDog” regarding the President’s budget. I haven’t had a chance to read the entire article, but I think it explains a lot and why knee-jerk reactions are never good.

Bill Maher’s Big Lie Contribution?

So did we or did we not watch Rev. Wright 24/7 on ALL the major networks for almost 2 years, or was I dreaming? Was not the President “accused” of attending that “awful church” for 20 years – the church that taught that even more “awful” black liberation theology? Are these people serious? So the President evidently converted to Islam about 3 years ago after attending a church (albeit not regularly) for 20 years? Here’s what I think. “Muslim” has become the new “N” word. You can say it in public – you can scream it from the rooftops.

An HP Moderator Replies

Welcome flo,

It’s a little intimidating. However, I’d rather be intimidated and learn something of value then be somewhere else and be one of the smartest people in the room :>)

Hey Wolf, glad you’re here. I always enjoyed your comments on HP. As a newbie, I’m still learning my way around, but everyone has made me feel right at home.

It’s “Current.com”

You know, Current TV where Keith is headed. The posters are HP reincarnate. I did make a mistake. When someone said the site was no better than HP. I replied with PlanetPov and somehow the video of Obama/Palin video was embedded in the reply. Ooops.

» Posted By Sabreen60 On February 14, 2011 @ 8:27 pm

Actually “Funky” copied the entire headline and article from HP and pasted on the Current web site. Anybody know why?

» Posted By Sabreen60 On February 14, 2011 @ 7:47 pm

I was over at Current and noticed that they used the exact Headline used at HP re President Obama and budget cuts. I left a suggestion that Current may want to look elsewhere for their Headlines, which often are used to lure people in, and oftentimes the article is quite different than the Headline.

While I was looking for a couple of favorite posters today, I noticed several posters with 500 to over 1000 fans, but I didn’t recognize the names. How did that happen, I wonder?

I left this as a reply to one of his post. I don’t know if he’ll see it because the post was a couple hours old.

I agree. I have been saying for a year that it appeared to me that AH was deliberately attempting to derail this President. I expect this to get much worst over the next year. At some point we’ll see who AH wants to see in the Oval Office in 2012. I have NEVER trusted AH. I know people can change, but a sudden change from one ideology to a totally different ideology, virtually overnight?

Below illustrates one of my primary problems with HP. The huge banner reads:

UNKIND CUTS

Obama’s Proposed Budget Cuts To Target Working Poor, Middle Class

TheN when you read the story there and more in-dept stories on other sites there are no cuts that “TARGET” the working poor and middle class. The cuts are across the board with far more increases to other programs for the poor and middle class.

HP could have AT LEAST contrasted the cuts in the President’s budget with those of the Republicans – as reported by Think Progress. My problem with HP has always been BALANCE – THERE IS NONE.

Proposed GOP Spending Plan Terminates Important Investments In Infrastructure, Education, Job Creation

Hi MIVOTE

I watched HP move from left leaning to the Twilight Zone over the last year.

A Short List of Pres. Obama’s Accomplishments

Sometimes I think it’s the nature of the world in which we live. People are looking for instant gratification. I’ll preface this by saying that I love young folks. I used to be young. I love the enthusiasm and the willingness to work hard. I have learned so much from this generation. I think some may need to understand something that being on the planet a while has helped me keep my sanity (somewhat) and that is NOTHING in nature is born an adult. Everything evolves and changes over time. Patience is a virtue – as long as progress is made. Politics, relationships, whatever, develop over time. Work hard and help make the changes you desire. President Obama has a heavy lift. And there forces who have stated that they want him to fail. He has the intellect and the temperament for the job, IMO. We have to continue letting him know where we stand and what we want changed.

BDM – “and I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like if he gets re-elected!”

I have often wondered if people who voted for Obama in 2008 will be afraid to vote for President Obama again, regardless of his policies, successes or failures?

» Posted By Sabreen60 On February 13, 2011 @ 2:12 pm

Thank you. One of my big disappointments is that the MSM, Huff and others never list or even refer to the accomplishments of this administration. We all can recite the negatives in our sleep because that’s pretty much all we hear, over and over. So thanks again and keep ’em coming.

Everything from “Over There” belongs “Here!”

Good for you. I removed my profile yesterday. It was like quitting smoking cold turkey. I just did it.

Gee, I thought it was just me who had moved away from Maher. I will watch his show if someone is on there that I may want to see, but generally I can’t hang in for the entire show.

Kifaya

A little side information:

I turned on AJE last night and caught part of a story detailing what has happened in Egypt since 2008. It seems that a few people instrumental in the current revolution in Egypt met with a leader of the Serbian revolution. (Sorry I don’t have names). The Serbian shared a lot information and impressed on them the absolute importance of remaining non-violent, along with providing some pointers on organization.

The Age of Obtuseness

I really agree with you. Unfortunately, many at HP would not read the articles. In too many instances the Headlines were merely to garner clicks and bring out the negativity and the trolls. I don’t know how many times I witnessed knee-jerk reactions only to witness the same folks having to eat crow.
