Corporations Are Religious Extremists Too!

Majority rule is what makes law. The idea that only ONE person does so is just a misnomer.

Again, it is never about one person but that the legislation is driven by a majority. Yes, Weiner may have had the mouth to challenge what Pelosie said and was attempting to do, but that does not equate to ONE person one outcome.

You should never be under the impression that this current situation is because of ONE person, but of the many.

One person can ot change Congress, but the many can…whereas I wouldn’t use Weiner as an example, I do agree that we need to work together.

If the Supreme Court decided that all corporations are “people”, how then could you not see that they would decide for corporations in this case?

People = corporations then anything that applies to private individuals would do the same for corporations under this premise.

As far as the statement that “we have had worse”, I question that what lawyers and politicians do in the future will not widen this horrific berth.

Who here did not see that the “Supreme’s” would not end up ruling as they did? I would venture none and it is on that very ruling that this Court will be continuing to rule AGAINST the individual and FOR the corporation.

I truly hate to say this, but this court will go down in history as the beginning of a horrific trend in our history.

Reductionism is a derogatory term used oftentimes to minimize the points of your opponent when your own efforts remain a bit obscured. And yet it is incredibly helpful to the gist of the debate if we clarify and/or simplify our densely written laws. It would help us all if we could get beyond such terms and discuss the actual efforts in the legislation.

You claim that all of this is about “This issue is about a corporation…having the right to discriminate on religious foundations” and yet there is a very distinct difference in how we view church and state. The problematic issue is that the SC has wrongly determined that corporations are now “people” and in so doing have now spun numerous theories which will be tried and tested for years to come.

You claim this is NOT merely about contraception but the entirety of the corporate needs in contrast to the women’s right to birth control. The problem is not in Killgore’s supposed “false premise” but in a badly written and formulated theory that huge corporations somehow have the same Constitutional rights as an individual.

I’m aware of the stats in the SC decision and the irony that those very same men appear to not even “get it”. This topic is so intrinsically personal and the notion that so many men believe themselves to be more knowledgeable than us mere women, is totally senseless not to mention inaccurate.

Heck, if you hear what some men are claiming where women can get contraceptives than their own true ignorance about the subject is revealed.

McDaniel Lost…The Shot Heard Around The World

People like McDaniel only serve to widen the already almost impenetrable breach between the left and right. Now, where we can never hope to agree on all, we can always hope to discuss the issues at hand.

I’m sickened by the rights insistence that they are the only ones to whom our country should answer. Instead, I only wish that those despicable sorry…can’t help myself) who represent the “Tea party” that they will begin to understand that we need to TALK not dictate.

Kalima, my condolences. Depression then (and even now) was not something you never spoke about. I had to wait for 39 years to learn that my grandfather whom I never met, hung himself as well. And to my amazement, I found out that his youngest daughter never learned of the horror until I began discussing it with her. Can you imagine, she must have been at least 68 or so and was still being told “the family” storyline. Shudder…
