No Longer Lost: Finding a New Home at Daily Kos and PlanetPOV

Beatriz09, welcome to the Planet. I too was on HP for several years. I left when AOL bought it. Been here and love the Planet ever since. I started just reading comments and then posting a comment once in a while. Now I am more comfortable with saying what I think on the Off Topic thread.

I even write articles for the front page. I hope you will read some of them and even write your own. I took a long time to get to it because of dyslexia. I am sure it will not take you long.

Murph, I figured out the trick of the sidebar posts. Click on the name of the poster and it brings you right to the comment. They seem to be the most recent posts that are at the top.

I am still exploring the Planet and find that I am getting better at navigating. Takes this old man longer than some other folks.

7. What’s the longer-term outlook?
Despite the challenges ahead, the long-term outlook is good. Long-term economic growth depends on
population growth and productivity growth – and the U.S. is well-positioned for both. Although the population
is aging worldwide, the U.S. is aging more slowly than China and almost every other developed country. And
the U.S. continues to be a leader in innovation, especially in patents and trademarks. Innovation helps raise
productivity growth over time, again contributing to faster economic growth.
The dramatic increase in oil and natural gas production in North America has lowered energy costs in the U.S.,
creating a long-term competitive advantage. That’s one reason some businesses are moving some operations
to the U.S. And as oil production has increased, oil imports have declined, reducing the trade defi cit and
helping support the value of the dollar over time. Although the U.S. has challenges to face, long-term
competitive advantages help make them easier to overcome.

Funk, until Obama took office the Republicans understood what you say about MMT. Suddenly they are saying that the debt and deficit are so important.
I think they are important but for the reasons in your latest and easiest to understand MMT post. Those reasons are resources and distributions of them.

Excellent explanation of the other MMT posts. You never lost me at all.

Ad and Monica, Smedley Butler took a long time to grow a conscience while Bowe Bergdahl grew his quicker. They both got there in the end. So did I after I saw the corruption in Vietnam. It actually took me less time that Butler and more than Bergdahl.

President Obama has done some good and tried to do more but for the obstructionists called the GOtP.

It is an unbelievable job to undo all the damage done by said dubya. It will take many years to finish undoing all the $hit his admin did.

An Open Letter To Any And All “Conservatives”

Cyndi, as far as the votes against the vets Bill I respectfully disagree that they voted against it for any reason other than they want to hurt the President. The Republicans in the House have power and intend to do nothing that will make Obama look good to the people. They only disrupt. That is why they have a 7% approval rating.
