Displaying 1,351 To 1,380 Of 5,801 Comments ST, why not do just that and take the money out of the military budget to do it? » Posted By Nirek On September 2, 2014 @ 4:09 am Monica, sorry I was rushed when I responded before. Had to cut my answer short. So I agree that education is key in making the changes to the country. Change the attitude of people, change the economy so that nobody is left in the poor house. Math and science are very valuable for people to know and understand. Monica, thanks for the article. You are correct. » Posted By Nirek On August 31, 2014 @ 2:30 pm Absolutely Monica, let us here at the Planet start the re-education of people. Science is the key. Facts are the basis for science. I’m all for science. » Posted By Nirek On August 31, 2014 @ 10:56 am Undermining ISIS on Five Fronts- The Emerging Strategy Murph, I agree that we should not be the force that does the job. To overcome the enemy the people of the region need to do it. We can assist though with air strikes. » Posted By Nirek On August 21, 2014 @ 5:45 pm The Revolution Will Be Criminalized…Unless You’re White Yes Monica, we must come together and work as one people to make the world a better place. Makes me think of the movie “Independence day”. The world was under attack from outer space and we all were battling the same foe! Great movie , too. » Posted By Nirek On August 20, 2014 @ 1:56 pm This is getting out of control and scary, Ad. » Posted By Nirek On August 19, 2014 @ 2:26 pm What Can We Actually Do to Stop The Conflict Between Police and Minorities? Brodie , even if he was not an outstanding citizen, he didn’t deserve to be shot dead in the street and left there four hours. » Posted By Nirek On August 25, 2014 @ 5:34 pm Monica, Kalima has great ideas. Small recorders? I never thought of them. But they may not cost too much today. » Posted By Nirek On August 24, 2014 @ 2:54 pm KT, I second your post! Monica is a very special person with a great heart and intellect. » Posted By Nirek On August 24, 2014 @ 2:50 pm Monica, if we are brainstorming we need to list ideas no matter how silly they may sound. I think we need to talk with each other instead of yelling at the other guy. Stay cool and really listen to the other side. » Posted By Nirek On August 23, 2014 @ 3:58 pm Excellent article Monica! Outstanding, actually. You write with passion and clarity. All I can do is say I agree with you. I kinda wish I could get my thoughts down as clearly as you do yours. » Posted By Nirek On August 22, 2014 @ 6:02 pm The Weekend Music Thread-Mishigas

The discrepancy between the top and bottom is way too big. » Posted By Nirek On August 19, 2014 @ 4:33 pm Thanks, Kes, Bernie is quite often right on many issues. This inequity of pay is certainly wrong. It is fine to pay the CEO more than those who work for him/her but not so much more as they are now. » Posted By Nirek On August 18, 2014 @ 11:25 am Thank you ST, the inequality of pay for work is absurd. When the CEO is paid fifty or more times the amount the lowest paid worker is, I do not think there is an incentive for a good job. The person doing the work that keeps the company going is the one who ought to be paid better. If the CEO were to do the job of the lower paid person he/she would see the value of the worker. » Posted By Nirek On August 18, 2014 @ 3:55 am Ferguson: Why Does a Mostly Black City Have Mostly White Government & Police? Kes, are you saying that this is at least partly a Southern white thing? That is kinda what I think. » Posted By Nirek On August 19, 2014 @ 1:13 pm Hey Brodie, that disgusts me so much that I stay away from all of those sites. This place is more civil and we are all friendly. » Posted By Nirek On August 18, 2014 @ 4:10 pm Brodie, I’m glad you wrote about it. Sorry I missed it the first time. I don’t think I was here until 2012. Again it seems like we should be beyond this kind of thing by now. In 1968 when MLK was killed I was stationed at Fort Meade in Maryland. There were riots in DC and we were sent to disperse the rioters. I have more to say about these riots. Some of our training for riot control was the psychology of a riot. They told us that there are instigators who get people fired up and then disappear. Leaving the folks who are angry to face the police. I had a lot of training on the subject. In no way am I excusing police shooting anyone, especially someone with his hands up. » Posted By Nirek On August 18, 2014 @ 1:25 pm Brodie, reading the story from the link gave the shivers. I am white, so will never know what it is like to be a black man. It must be frightening to be pulled over and have guns pointed in your direction. Especially here in America. I have been shot at many many times in Vietnam, but that was expected. Here right on I 95 near Baltimore it is not acceptable! My friend, I’m so sorry that this kind of thing still happens after the civil rights era. America should be ashamed. I am. Profiling is wrong based on race. Peace to you my friend. I hope some day to meet you and many others on this site. » Posted By Nirek On August 18, 2014 @ 12:04 pm Monica, that link is an eye opener! I for one had no idea that there were so many “pigs at the trough”! So many of them are foreign countries too. Outsourcing is bad enough but to outsource defense spending is worse. Thanks for the link, Monica. » Posted By Nirek On August 18, 2014 @ 11:35 am SLM, I can only agree with you. 100%! » Posted By Nirek On August 18, 2014 @ 8:04 amComments Posted By Nirek
We need to make greed a bad thing again. Remember that GREED is one of the deadly sins. Corporations, many of them anyway, seem to think that greed is a good thing. They’re wrong of course. The point is we need to educate Americans about the evils of greed. Corporate greed especially.
That is “brainstorming” and it works!
Let me add that is is disgraceful for that company to have lowered the starting pay rather than raised it.
