It is very busy every time I work there and the folks I see come in to get free food are my neighbors who have lost their jobs or have been hit hard by the flooding and lost everything. Two things come to mind. One , the folks i serve at our food bank take as little as they can and have said “I’ll just take one so someone else can take one too” They are NOT greedy.
“A young boy was on a beech and picked up a starfish and threw it back into the sea. A man asked him what he was doing. The boy said I’m just throwing the starfish back into the sea sense the tide is going out they wont survive on the beach. The man said there are miles of beach and thousands of starfish , you wont make any difference. The boy picked up another starfish and tossed it into the sea and said I just made a difference to that one.”
Every little bit of kindness will make a difference.
Speaking of shelves My brother and I built them after the location was flooded out. It was rewarding to see our labor bare fruit (and veggies and other canned goods).
How about anyone else.
We need to convince more regular people that they are NOT being represented in congress because congress belongs to the multinational corporations (which have no allegiance to the USA) and the 1%ers. We can out vote them if we get more people to see that they are 99%ers.
Another thing is to go with a small local bank or credit union. Don’t use or trust the BIG banks.
The supreme court made a terrible decision!
