Thanks for this. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 6:24 pm OH….AND WELCOME TO PLANETPOV….A GREAT PLACE TO EXCHANGE THOUGHTS AND WORK FOR CHANGE. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:57 pm Local boycotts are now taking hold. People who really detest Rush are coming out of the woodwork. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:56 pm Spoke the truth which many were not willing to hear. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:55 pm Glad AOL did the right thing. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:55 pm Outstandng contribution. Cenk will get nowhere but the paragraph that deals with Portable People Meters. and what they say about his real listening audience is outstanding. Thank you for finding this…I feel a great comment forming for my two other blogs. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:52 pm I like it. I will use it as you suggested for my second e mail. I have also contacted folks in the House and Senate on this. Asking them how we could be supporting such trash with tax dollars. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:48 pm Just read…disgusting…and I so liked her on Raymond….come to think of it her character was a bit of shrew….hmmmmm. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:46 pm Just added my first update. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 3:44 pm UPDATE ON THE BOYCOTT: 13 National Advertisers have now dropped him Newest drops: National advertisers Allstate, Sears, and Tax Resolution New West Broadcasting, KPUA AM 670 in Hilo, Hawaii announced that it is immediately discontinuing the Rush Limbaugh program. Seven other stations across the country have indicated that they are thinking of doing the same. And here is the first of the local stories that I think will start popping up. Local activists are calling local stations to get lists of advertisers and using lists they have generated by listening to the show. From the Kingstown, Va. “Patch”– “Two local businesses — carpet cleaners Hadeed Carpet and Rug and replacement window company Thompson Creek — pulled their advertisements from WMAL (105.9 FM and AM 630), which runs Limbaugh’s show, during that program.” http://kingstowne.patch.com/articles/local-businesses-drop-advertisements-from-rush-limbaugh-show Two companies have responded that they do not intend to drop the show but “appreciate the input”….LifeLock and Lear Capital Who is left from my original list? I may need to edit this because the ground is shifting hour by hour. Is there a way of doing that? HP is such a gift. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 2:07 pm I had the same problem with Sears so I called their customer service number and got transferred twice. Finally got someone at corporate and they took my info. They seemed unsure of how to handle my comment. They are one of the “advertisers” whose linke to Rush is less clear. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 12:58 pm See the comment I left for SnapShots. It spells out how to do this. FCC was very helpful when I called. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 12:56 pm Sacramento….thus the 10AM works. He is on from nine to noon there. I am going to fashion your post into a separate one at two other blogs where I post and publish it there. It really is excellent. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 12:55 pm Excellent idea. I followed up right away. I contacted the FCC after I saw your post earlier. Apparently it is very important to be specific re. the time of the incident. I asked if complaints are in regard to an entire show, they asked if I was calling in re. to the Rush Limbaugh Show. I said I was. They suggested I make my complaint using the dates and use the first hour of the broadcast for my time zone. I found out his broadcast times at http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/stations. So that is what I did. I will include this in my future posts. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION. So happy to see you here at PlanetPOV. I have found my time here very worthwhile. This is a place of real connection and energy. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 12:53 pm You are very welcome. Your discussion gets at the root of the objections to Rush’s behavior. I really like your idea of words of support for those who withdrew. I will add that to my future posts here and elsewhere. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 5, 2012 @ 12:45 pm Huffington Post Hacklines – Vol. 1 There is a lot of evidence in support of that. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 2, 2012 @ 7:56 pm well AB has gone to his reward…. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 2, 2012 @ 7:52 pm It’s a smarmy crowd and it is all in the family. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 2, 2012 @ 7:50 pm I agree with your definition of fearless if you add unprincipled to it. As AB certainly was. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 2, 2012 @ 7:44 pm I saw the original story but not the update. Disgusting. I will pass this on. Glad I have the Planet (which means folks like you) to keep me on the cutting edge rather than the soft/safe middle. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 2, 2012 @ 12:43 pm Completely agree. I know HP is doing this badly. I have complained. But I do not see many other MSM types that are being honest. This guy was pond scum, an under-the-rocks dweller. I had good friends in ACORN and they were targeted because they dared to promote Obama’s run for the Presidency. How “uppity” of them. And Breibart and his minion O’Keefe lit the pyre fire. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 2, 2012 @ 12:25 pm Reaction to Breitbart’s Death… With heroes like this who needs villains “He was one of the most fearless people I ever knew,” a shaken Jonah Goldberg, founding editor of the National Review Online, said on Fox News. “One of his favorite pasttimes was to retweet all of the hate that people threw at him, because he considered it a badge of honor. It was his Wheaties.” Goldberg added: “He was the modern conservative’s iteration of a 1960s radical. He loved the fight.” “He was completely fearless,” Tucker Carlson, editor of the Daily Caller, said. “And he thrived on the brawling.” “What a huge loss, in my opinion for our country and certainly for the conservative movement,” Rick Santorum told press traveling with his campaign. “My prayers go out to his family.” “RIP ‘O Mighty Warrior!” Texas Gov. Rick Perry wrote on Twitter. “The conservative movement has lost a powerful voice in the fight to protect our freedom,” Ned Ryun, president of the American Majority and one of Breitbart’s friends, said. “Andrew was a pioneer in using social media and digital technology to bring a courageous conservative message to America’s grassroots. He did something many in the conservative movement are afraid to do–go right at the left and not back down. He served as an example to the rest of the conservative movement of how to fight for our values without apology or compromise.” Yes, today the world of propaganda, yellow journalism, smear politics, and just outright lying is a little poorer. I feel badly for his family, but that is about it. The man’s role in the destruction of ACORN earned him a permanent place in my hall of shame. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On March 2, 2012 @ 11:47 am LIVE BLOG: GOP Primaries in Michigan and Arizona Shallow and empty is better. I agree. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On February 28, 2012 @ 8:23 pm Romney screamed about it but then video from his days in Mass came out where he told an interviewer he often votes Dem so he could vote for the weakest Dem. Nice. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On February 28, 2012 @ 8:22 pm Just watching Romney’s victory speech….more of the same…. I agree with both of your points re. Romney being nominated and losing. Pretty much my point regarding the push further to the right which trigger that civil war you mention. Romney is, in the long run, weaker than Santorum, and will be more destructive to the contemporary GOP. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On February 28, 2012 @ 7:44 pm Hi there…. The Dems voting for Santorum is a Santorum initiative — robocalls that sound Dem but end with a tag that the call is paid for by the Santorum campaign and they have readily admitted it. Romney was so concerned about this that he was putting forth the narrative that if he lost tonight it would have been because of the Santorum effort to draw in Dems. Now he doesn’t have to use that story. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On February 28, 2012 @ 7:42 pm Hello All….just checking in. I have wavered back and forth this week regarding who I want to win. For a while it came down to my wanting the nation to wrestle over the Santorum vs. Obama vision for America, the Tea Party vs. the Centrist Progressive ideals. I wanted Santorum to win in Michigan and go on to win the nomination. If Romney won the nomination and then lost to Obama the folks on the right would say it was because the GOP had not gone far enough to the right. Nothing would be settled. But….I shifted and am happy that Romney won tonight. Why? Santorum is the kind of person who could reignite the Tea Party bonfires. He is the kind of person who could create the kind of campaign that resurfaces all of the worst elements of those anti health care reform rallies. His would be the kind of campaign that whether he wins or loses would leave the country even more divided. AND, most importantly, if he were the nominee he might win. If he did, we would have a ultra conservative theocrat in the Oval Office. He would be a stronger debater against Obama because he is more glib and more emotional than Romney. He just might win and that would be the worst outcome of all. So, congrats…Mitt. » Posted By MurphTheSurf3 On February 28, 2012 @ 7:17 pm LIVE BLOG: GOP Debate in Arizona on CNN – 2-22-2012 Hmmmm. I wonder which is correct. The sources at wiki were strong ones. I wonder what cdc could tell us on this. I will look. I am sure you will do the same. Stats….grrrrrr!
