Don’t think it will last, but with Huff, nothing would surprise me ….

AdLib – your ability to use imagery when you write & your easy access to the crux of issues qualifies you as a very gifted writer.

I’ve felt that for a long time –
Do you write professionally ? & if not, you should ….

You & KQ both hit the nail on the head – Huff (its format & attendees) offers quick, lightweight fare : the quick-meal analogy is spot on –
This is far more reminiscent of a home place, where you can relax & spend time in discussion with people whose psyches you don’t have to second-guess ….
Even if I can’t take time to join in for more than a few minutes at a time, reading the discussions is testimonial to that difference –
BTW, where’s Kev7 ? Is he not involved here ?

Yep –
What I’ve found fascinating is to have noticed the trends, not only in others’ behavior (in that type of environment) but of my own too –
As you know, I had to cut myself off from the ‘trend’, the direction things developed, group-think, group adoration / worship etc. that I saw happening –
This here feels like fresh air, no odd dynamics at all –

I like the self-edit feature here (good for those of us who critique their own writing & want to fix typos) but erasing other peoples’ posts at Huff ?
It creates (IMO) an unhealthy, unbalanced hierarchy, no bueno –

That’s exactly what it is : a drive-up quick meal –
Not too satisfying, but if that’s all you have time for, then it’s some kind of sustenance –
As for the group-think, I agree with that too –
I resisted fanning for the longest time (way back before the election) but then I realized it might hurt some peoples’ feelings not to reciprocate –
I still think it’s juvenile as hell ….(but gosh, I do fan, so …..um).

OMG – I missed that part – regular bloggers getting merit badges for flagging ?
I think when you change the dynamics of a group of people (peers) & start making some of them the ‘enforcers’, it can throw things way out of whack –
It’s happened on smaller blog sites & IMO, starts feeling odd, unbalanced & somewhat creepy ….

I hear you on the stalking probs. on Huff –
I went back (to a v. small extent) & was ‘recognized” by some old blogger friends, wanting me to fully identify myself.
A Catch-22, as you can re-join old pals, but, by the same token, re-attract past stalkers –
Huff is now to me, good for checking out its heady headlines & for posting short-cut opinions – that’s it.

I occasionally do quickie late-afternoon posts there, esp. if it’s a thread that conjures up brief outrage or passion –
I don’t like all the new bells ‘n whistles, but do like the respite Huff can offer from a busy, serious day : the ability to indulge in a bit of wit, eye-roll or humorous smack-down of crazy Repub. stances –

This place is far superior in content (not to mention the v. cool people) & I read it avidly, though not much time to start in on any in-depth discussions right now –

Bad Company

What we all do : BOYCOTT –
Boycott Arizona (as many already are, per Huff’s main) – & boycott large corporation : banks, unfair retailers etc.
I boycotted HomeDepot last year, forever, when news broke of 250,000 layoffs, immediately followed by the CEO of Home Depot taking off on a fancy jet for a 3-week vacation – ruining the lives of 250,000 families & ……going off to enjoy Mai Tais ??

Boycott is what we can all do NOW –
