Displaying 1,171 To 1,200 Of 1,300 Comments HuffNo Friday – Topic of the Night – Which Way Afghanistan? Is Afghanistan really a country? Can it be governed? I agree with Quark, that the Tali is a threat. Recognizing a thing being a threat is not the same as advocating a massive military action. I think only half a million could not even remotely get the job done. We had that many in the Nam and the Vietnames kicked our ass up one side and down another. But I am uncomfortable with an idea of just running away. I want the potential to hit the deranged religious extremists to remain. But how are we to do that? I would not care if we respect their “sovereignty”, as long as we did not have a large foot print there. If we could be based in another Stan, we could get a strike force in and out quickly. But we could not sustain a large force, and we need to realize that no matter where we maintain troops, they will attract attack. I would like very much to see the Israelis come to the table with the Palis, and I could care less about the Palis shooting rockets at the Israelis. We Americans lynched Tories during the revolution. The Israeli state was produced in no small part by the Jews conducting the first modern campaign of terror against the Brits (letter bombs in Britain). Nobody gets to pretend to stink-free chit. The two state solution needs to move forward, in order to give the deranged religious extremists one less propaganda point to whip up hatred against us. So many more thoughts. This is ugly beyond consideration. Ugly complex. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 6:34 pm Fight the intrusion of quackery and religious woo in health care reform Religion: Certainty without proof. Science: Proof without certainty. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 9:19 am Blissfully, I missed this one. And you missed a point I was making on another thread. I was saying that Afghanistan IS a law enforcement issue first. Not that it is neither a law enforcement nor military issue. And as my brother the CIA agent would say to you, even after you get the intelligence and build the case, you gotta have guys with guns who are able to go get the bad guys. The Texas Rangers are not going to go arrest bin Laden, should we ever again know where he is. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 7:45 am S’all good. We have butted heads before, and remained friends. I am sure there is no reason that cannot continue. Especially seeing as we live about ten miles from each other! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 5:42 pm Peace. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 5:40 pm Not IF. We are interested. That is why we invited you. Please write something TODAY, to celebrate HuffNo Friday. Today will be the largest audience ever at this site. Until next Friday, that is. Write! I’ll be outlining my thread all day in my head as I wire a house. It may be a bit terse, but it may also be the beginning of a series. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 9:23 am Hey, you drink as much cheap white plonk as I had and then see if you like it! Hehehehhehee! What is important here is that that happened at Huff, and should not be continued in anger here. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 9:16 am Perhaps a year from now we will ask for a certain level of originality of detail or research, but for now, I say do your best and then see how much discussion you generate! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 9:07 am Not only is it OK to post comments, (but there must be a thread more on point) but you could author an original thread. We are not too fussy as to format nor depth of research at this point. Write in bullet points if you like. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:51 am Certainly a moment of dithering is called for! The Rethugs are asking “what is the rush on health care?” But we need to commit more troops and right now? » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:41 am I’ll be damned! One of my comments just went into “pending moderation”! Sorry, Blue! It does appear that the computer is fucking with us! But be assured that nobody is deliberately squelching your comments. We have no such PLAN! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:39 am Oh, apparently the Paki govt is quietly OK with the predators, we have given them about a fourth of the targets. So we are killing extremists that the Paki govt wants dead. That is how the guy who managed the killing of Bhutto got sent to meet Mohamed. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:35 am Middle Easteners will be as unwelcome as anyone. Forget it Jake, it’s Chinatown. I’d be OK with a few thousand special forces forward deployed, going in and ki lling the more deranged of the deranged religious extremists. (Look at that! I split killing out of habit!) I will defy anyone to seriously say that we have no reason to be concerned with developments in Afghanistan. I also agree that currently Paki is rightly a larger concern, and that we should reverse the proportions on our expenditures in the two countires. The ugly truth, however, is that they really are countries only in the most formal meaning of the word. Both are teetering on failed state status. And look how well that is working for the world in Somalia. Anyone got a good PLAN for stabilizing Somalia? Or do I not get to say that Somalia is a problem, seeing as I do not have a PLAN? » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:30 am What are you griping about now? Nobody is monitoring nor scrubbing your comments. Pls advise if you have an actual comment that did not appear? » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:07 am Blue mis-read a comment of mine. He mal-understood me to say that Afghanistan is NEITHER a law enforcement nor a military issue. I was saying that Afghanistan IS a law enforcement issue. Then he demanded that I give him a plan. I don’t have a plan. People might want to read a little closer. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:06 am I would not and have not scrubbed you. Get real. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 7:47 am Were you there in September and Oct? I would write “How could anyone get excited about a mere politician? How can tens or even hundreds of thousands get together and cheer and cheer”? and more on that theme. Keyrist! Did I piss some kids off! Now that the assholes at Huff have banned me, I cannot lead you to the threads! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:48 pm Hehehee! Hey, I’m gonna have to get to work soon. Would you please originate a thread announcing the start of HuffNo Friday and sort of keep things jumping for a few hours? » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:54 am The bastards! Your best material stolen and sent to Maher! Not to worry. Here we publish your material and THEN send it to Maher! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:45 am I’m sorry! I did not invite you? I certainly meant to! You are most welcome. Today is HuffNo Friday. Please try to resist going to Huff at all today. We are trying to impinge their page clicks. In point of fact, this worked quite effectively some months ago when conducted off another blog. It will take a few weeks to get it going full roar. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 30, 2009 @ 8:14 am I was suspended repeatedly for slapping that cow around. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:59 pm All good! KevinSixPlusOne is really an insult to their intelligence. Sort of! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:36 pm Tomorrow. HuffNo Friday. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:20 pm No no. Banned. As in “fuck you”. Fuck me? Fuck Huff. KevenSeven will never appear at Huff again, I predict. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:19 pm DUDE! Now we know we have arrived! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:06 pm Different site. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:05 pm Like a big dog in heat, I was banned! For demanding that Atomic Splash be reinstated. Participate in HuffNo Friday, dude! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 10:03 pm Adore me! Or I’ll fucking kill you! Don’t cry for me, Argentina! » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 8:40 pm Healthcare Reform Update: Historic Move by the House of Representatves Quark, I just wanted to say thank you for your many thoughtful and informative posts on health care. We may not agree 100%, but my respect for your opinion is 100%. » Posted By KevenSeven On October 29, 2009 @ 7:42 pm Mission Thursday! To the barricades, my brothers and sisters! FUCK IT ALL!
