THIT!

I noticed it started last month, tremendous number of new socks/trolls that come and go in waves. That’s when I decided to get out of there…visit occasionally, but don’t stay long or post much.

Hey, does anyone know who ‘USSR’ is, is it AC? Just curious.

Obama Rejects All Plans Proffered.

F’ing moronic asses is being nice, I could think of other names to call them…my mouth has become so filthy, I don’t know if it’s living with a sailor all these years, where every other word is Fuck, or just my frustration over what has gone on with our country for the last 8 long, oh so very long years of GB!

Well, got get some work done, meeting with the client at 10am tomorrow, finnished the project, but must tweek some things before I see her…take care, talk later.

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 12, 2009 @ 6:47 am

Hey Monk, at least it’s a plan. What was the plan for the last eight years, wing it(?), ignore it and hope it will go away(?), the repugs have no defendable arguement on this one…but of course they will gloss this over and turn it around to the detriment of this current administration.

Same shit, different day and topic…don’t they every get tired of all this conflict? No need to answer, I think they thrive on it!

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 12, 2009 @ 6:37 am

I’m just grateful that we have an intelligent adult in office now and is weighing all the options and insisting on an exit strategy and more information.

Whatever the plan, the President will take heat for it, it may not be a perfect plan but at least it’s a plan with an end to this conflict.

HuffNo Friday

Well I guess I’m a Yankee, thru and thru, you should see the sky today, silver with dark streaks…winds at 10 knots out of southeast, water is black with some white caps…nothing like a New England winter by the water!

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 12, 2009 @ 6:52 am

I should show you some of the pictures from the storms that we have had in the past…50′ sailboats thrown up on shear cliffs, 25′ above the water. Crazy, the power of the sea, got to love it and respect it. Wouldn’t live anywhere else, well maybe a nice little house on the coast of Maine or the coast Cap Cod!

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 12, 2009 @ 6:42 am

Ok kids, must start my day at work, will talk with all of you later, have a great day everyone!

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 12, 2009 @ 6:26 am

That must suck, lord my husband and I would be sleeping 14 hrs a day out there!

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 12, 2009 @ 6:25 am

There is good and bad with Daylight Savings, good, it’s light in the mornings here, bad, dark early, the sun goes down at 5pm.

My husband and I are very sensitive to this, we have a tendency to hole up for the winter. Someone suggested we get light boxes, but I just can’t see the ol’grouch using one!

We’re in for a big storm this weekend, it’s hitting the coast of Virginia pretty bad today and will move up the coast and hit the Northeast starting tomorrow afternoon. High tides and winds at 30-50 MPH…the ol’grouch is loving it, more work, as boats always get damaged in storms like these!

Morning guys, that is confusing…as you can see I have trouble telling time, 10 pm is still late for me!

But I’m going to try to stay up, may take a nap in the afternoon or drink a lot of coffee.

Woo Woo Conspiracies and a the Real Conspiracy

After you read this book, you will start to see how a lot of the pieces fall into place in regards to the GOP/Conservative belief system.

It’s truly scary stuff that they believe in…

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 5:26 pm

Funny, most people don’t realize that the American Pit Bull Terrier was a very popular dog in the 19th and early 20th centry…

Petey, the dog from the Little Rascals was a pit and so was the RCA dog…

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 5:24 pm

It took me a while to get through it, had to insert trashy novels in between chapters, that was the only way I could do it, was very depressing, had trouble sleeping for a while after reading it.

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 5:14 pm

Well, here in the Northeast, we do believe that they are in their own little world there!

“Where ya from?”

“Jersey”

Badda Bing!

These people are our new ‘Taliban’, only they wave the American flag and they fight in the name of Christ.

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 4:38 pm

Read Jeff Sherlot’s book “The Family”, which I recomend if you haven’t read it, it’s about the christian conservative right wing conspiricy that has been going on since the cold war, that has become more entrenched into our lives and government than people realize.

Their prime purpose is to support the few ‘chosen ones’, who are the movers and shakers in big business and politics, the top 1% of our nations wealth, while oppressing us. We, the average citizen, mean nothing to them, other to be a means to their end, which is profit and policy making that benifits them.

Reagan was their Prophet, he was the master of the propaganda machine to get us to fall in line, ie., “Personal Responsibility”.

I believe this group has become more vocal lately, because we now have a center/left President that’s not playing along with them and they, I believe, are panicking and lashing out because of this.

Personal responsibility: The moral argument against compassion

Well if it was up to them and ment for them, no, if it was ment for us, yes.

Does that make sense? No for the Right and yes for us ‘libbies’.

It’s all about ‘personal responsibilities’ you know, and apparently if you are a liberal, you have none.

Well time to get back to my life of sucking off of rich people, oh sorry, work. LOL..take care.

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 11:24 am

Afternoon kesmarn, I think you’ve nailed what the rights problem may be, ‘Conservative Autism’.

Maybe this should be put in the diagnostic manual of mental disorders!

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 11:09 am

Fear, fear of not having it all, it has been instilled in us, as a society, big time since King Ronnie.

Now this fear is in our individual personal belief systems, and it will take a very long time and very hard work to change it.

But I have faith, Obama is sending out the right, or should I say, correct message. The tone and energy has already started to be more positive.

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 10:44 am

Nellie, love this post, I have been grappling with the Christain Right’s version of ‘Personal Resposibility’ for some time now, it is offensive to me how they have re-defined the meaning of it.

Yes, we do have a personal responsiblity to be a good citizen, yes we do have a personal responsiblity to get our bills paid on time, so on and so on. But ‘they’, the right, fail to take into account, as you said, of outside influences that change the course of what the original intent was.

As far as I’m concerned, this is a cowards way out, ‘I have mine, so screw you’.

Sometimes I think it would have been better to let this country to economically “crash’ in order to wake these people us, then they wouldn’t ‘have mine’, we would all be in the same boat and on a level playing field.

Afternoon, EST, dey…hope all is well with you. Heady stuff trying to understand how others think, perceive and pervert things..

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 10:20 am

Very well said, what your brother and other conservatives seem to lack at times, in my view, is empathy…

…………………………………………………
empathy
n
1. the power of understanding and imaginatively entering into another person’s feelings.
………………………………………………….

You are empathetic, you place yourself in others shoes, sometimes this is hard for others to do, it’s not that they do not have the capacity to do this, it’s that they are scared that the emotions that are attached empathy, may be overwhelming to them.

There by the grace of God go I, this could be me, and that is a very scary thing for some to imagine.

» Posted By BigDogMom On November 11, 2009 @ 10:17 am

I have seen several posters at HP post this profound phrase when someone on the right goes on about ‘personal responsibility’…

“And Jesus Wept”

This to me says it all, they have, in my opinion, have perverted the meaning of what it is like to be a “Good Christian”…

Kalima is right in saying, that they are the new Taliban…

Becoming Human

I was very lucky growing up in a very liberal church, United Church of Christ here in the Northeast. I think my Mother was also a big influence on how we viewed religion.

Coming from a very strict religious background, Southern Babtist, she left her family at 17, unheard of in 1950, and was the first in her family to attend college, she was considered a lost soul, the black sheep of the family. And to boot, she married a northerner, from NYC in fact! Up until the day my father died, they called him by his last name, never his first name…

But she and the church we attended, taught us to view the Bible as stories, and not to take it literally. Individual thought and debate were encouraged, the Bible was only there to teach us to be good people.

I don’t know how my Mother did it, we went down south every summer to spend time with her family, we kids went to the revivals and church with my Grandmother, but my Mother always refused to go. The arguements were something, but she stood her ground. Of course after us kids went with my Grandmother, she always said, this was to show us what intollerance looked liked…very strong women, miss her dearly.
