So, if you tell someone they may have to give up more to benefit everyone they may not like it. Even if you tell them they will see an eventual return. Or, tell that person they can still have everything they want AND pay less. That is why we fail. » Posted By ADONAI On September 14, 2011 @ 4:52 pm *sigh* » Posted By ADONAI On September 14, 2011 @ 3:38 pm So Rick Perry is gonna execute another person on Thursday. The prisoner, Duane Edward Buck, has been proven guilty beyond all reasonable doubt. So no problems, right? Well, in Texas you have to prove this person is a continuing threat and likely to kill again before you can execute them. So how did they prove this. With the help of psychologist Dr. Walter Quijano. Dr. Walt testified that since Mr. Buck is black, he is likely to commit the crime again. Yeah, you heard me. Black people are natural criminals. In Texas there actually exists “Guilt by race”. so apparently that was good enough for everyone and Mr. Buck is being executed tomorrow. Deservedly? That’s debatable. Even if he ha been found 100% guilty it’s the precedent used to obtain the execution that is troubling. People are trying to get Perry to hold off on the execution and retry Buck without the “he’s black so obviously he’s a killer” argument. What are the chances of that happening? » Posted By ADONAI On September 14, 2011 @ 2:24 pm Advice Cat » Posted By ADONAI On September 14, 2011 @ 1:46 pm Here’s another one I made ’cause it very much amuses me. The most fierce and realistic boxing matches ever filmed for a movie. 2.)Rocky – I’m not a boxing fan but these films were made back when boxing was actually good. It was also a very well written movie. Written by Sylvester Stallone. 3.)Bad News Bears – My nostalgia vote. This movie use to run almost everyday on TBS. I may have seen it more than any other movie. 4.)White Men Can’t Jump – I’m a huge Woody Harrelson fan to start with and I’ve always enjoyed playground ball more than organized. 5.)Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby – Still Will Ferrel’s best movie. Actually had to stop the DVD several times to catch my breath from laughing so hard. If you ain’t first, you’re last. Cats would make better Presidents than dogs anyways. I gotta give that one to cats. So is it like a Lord of the Flies situation in Perry’s world? I could end his Presidential run by beating the shit out of him on live television. How fun would that be? » Posted By ADONAI On September 13, 2011 @ 2:28 pm HA! As a brilliant cascade of red, white, and blue fireworks lit up the skyscraper’s observation deck, those in attendance reflected on the horrible tragedy that improbably, and stirringly, gave way to a harmonized Middle East and one of the most triumphant and fruitful eras in the history of the great American republic. “A decade ago, 3,000 of our citizens perished in a senseless attack on American soil, and as I stand here today atop this magnificent edifice, celebrating the thriving republic of Afghanistan and all our allies in the now wholly stable Muslim world, it’s clear the U.S. has not only risen from the ashes, it has flourished,” said former U.S. president and master of ceremonies George W. Bush, who was widely applauded after 9/11 for respecting the rights of citizens at home and abroad while combating terrorism through largely peaceful means. “These last 10 years could have been divisive, turbulent, sad, hopeless, and grotesque. But instead, they were the exact opposite of those things. And for that we must all feel both blessed and truly proud.” http://www.theonion.com/articles/us-commemorates-911-by-toasting-stable-afghan-gove,21332/ Three More Syrians Killed As Tom Weighs Merits Of Drafting Neil Rackers EMPORIA, KS—Three civilians attending a pro-democracy demonstration in Syria were shot dead by their government’s armed forces Tuesday while local man Tom Burchett was reportedly trying to decide whether or not to draft Neil Rackers with his fantasy football team’s sixteenth-round pick. “Rackers was pretty stellar last year from long yardage, and this league gives you extra points for those,” Burchett, 34, said as dying Syrians realized with their last flickers of dwindling consciousness that they would never experience human freedom. “I could go with another sleeper wideout here, but my worry is there will be a run on kickers now that Greg and Dustin have both picked one.” As several hundred more Syrians decided to join the protests and risk their lives, Burchett finally decided to draft Rackers, calling it the most difficult choice he’s made all year and a risk he hopes he won’t regret. » Posted By ADONAI On September 12, 2011 @ 2:23 pm I was number 32,763 » Posted By ADONAI On September 11, 2011 @ 6:18 pm That’s sports! I love my Cubs but I have no hopes of seeing them in the World Series anytime soon. Right now I wonder if they’ll ever make the playoffs. But there’s always next year! Maybe we’ll get a dominant young pitcher, the bats will come alive. You never know. » Posted By ADONAI On September 11, 2011 @ 5:59 pm I didn’t wanna say anything negative about the day but there have been all these 9/11 themed commercials And it’s like, one time a year we trot out the firefighters and policemen to tell them how great they are and how much we love them, and the rest of the time it’s “We’re just gonna take that retirement money away and you weren’t really gonna need that insurance were ya?” It was pathetic watching Republicans trying to stall the First Responders Bill. Sickening. And now the lawyers are carving out all these fucking loopholes and insurance companies are nitpicking every little thing. It’s a disgrace. A real honest to GOD disgrace. Not one of those fake Washington “Oh he got too many blow jobs” type disgraces. And full props to President Obama who has made their concerns his concern from day one. » Posted By ADONAI On September 11, 2011 @ 5:57 pm » Posted By ADONAI On September 11, 2011 @ 5:51 pm HA!
