Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PST. Hope to see you then! AdLib 2 hours ago

Howdy, Ad. Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? glenn an hour ago

Hey glenn! You’ve been missed! AdLib an hour ago

Yes, had a very nice Thanksgiving. And you? AdLib an hour ago

Hi all. did you have a good TG? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn, Murph was asking about you last week pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Hey PPO! AdLib an hour ago

Yes, I had a very nice TG also. glenn an hour ago

Yes PPO, thanks! Giving! AdLib an hour ago

It should be the last Thanksgiving with Trump as the elected president. AdLib an hour ago

Fergie’s cousing from Boston sent us photos of their Feast. All the trad. stuff. What on earth are yams?????? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Even though he wasn’t elected by the people. AdLib an hour ago

Cool, PPO! Yams are like sweet potatoes but quicker to pronounce. AdLib an hour ago

Ad hopefully he will get Delhi belly and have to resign! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

And they are the only vegetable that is a month of the year backwards. AdLib an hour ago

Delhi Belly? AdLib an hour ago

PPO–I was in FL helping my brother deal with his COPD, his anxiety, his depression, and getting his legal affairs in order. He is now in a psych hospital awaiting transfer to a rehab hospital. I’m home in GA since Monday, but it was a whirlwind of a visit basically all over the state of FL. I’m trying to keep his spirits up; he’s on new medication which seems to be helping him; but it’s still one day good and the next day he’s down again. It’s exhausting! glenn an hour ago

Oh, ad, an important literary vegetable, then. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

The election is just over 11 months away now. Lots of damage can be done in the meantime but we’re on the downhill side now! AdLib an hour ago

Delhi belly is a nasty attack of the trots. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – It is also Popeye’s favorite vegetable after spinach. “I yam what I yam!” AdLib an hour ago

I hope the Dems keep the impeachment process going on through the Judiciary Committee, and force the TLB and his minions to testify. glenn an hour ago

glenn, what a huge load to bear. Hope your brother understands your sacrifice. Must have been so draining. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn – That sounds so emotionally exhausting. I’m so sorry your brother is having to go through this. AdLib an hour ago

glenn, is he ex-military? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn – Trump will never testify, even if a court said he had to. He knows it would be a self-immolation. But yes, I hope that the court cases help force his crime family including Mulvaney and Pompeo have to testify in a Senate Impeachment hearing. AdLib an hour ago

Fergie is also afflicted with COPD. Struggling a bit these days, needs puffers more often pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Yes, my brother thanks me every day for what I’ve done for him. I truly did save his life, as he tried to commit suicide the day before I was scheduled to leave FL, so I ended up staying another week. And, yes, it is emotionally exhausting for both of us! He has finally realized that he needs to change his mindset and is truly working on it. I just have to talk him through his setbacks. His new medication is helping a lot, and he is in a place where he is getting better help than I could give him. give glenn an hour ago

Sorry to hear Fergie’s struggling with COPD. Just need to keep those inhalers handy. AdLib an hour ago

Mystery of the Week: Is Conan the hero canine male or female? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO–Unfortunately, he is not ex-military, so he can’t get help through VA. glenn an hour ago

ouch, glenn. that’s what I hoped he could get. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn – It has to feel very overwhelming to him. So much to have to accept, he’s so lucky to have you there for him. But it is a heavy burden on your shouders. AdLib an hour ago

Ad–I hope the TLB and/or his minions testify first in the House, but I know that’s never going to happen. His excuse that he is “protecting” future presidents is just laughable! glenn an hour ago

The only bitch at the WH was Trump, not Conan. AdLib an hour ago

PPO–Sorry to hear about Fergie’s COPD. It has really affected my brother, and is the main cause of his anxiety/depression. glenn an hour ago

glenn – What gets me is how this is gutting the Constitution and the courts are so indifferent to that as they let this criminal behavior continue as they drag their feet. AdLib an hour ago

Ad, glenn, the WH will just drag everything on and on, assisted by the Devil Himself, McConnell. One can only hope people are not too jaded by all the criminality going unpunished to bother voting. That would mean the end of the USA. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – I think many Americans are discouraged by how Trump can just tear up pieces of the Constitution without being stopped but when the election comes, I think voters will feel the urgency and importance of getting rid of Trump. AdLib an hour ago

Ad–Exactly. It is overwhelming to him, and it doesn’t help that he lives out in the middle of nowhere by himself. We are now working on getting him out of his place, but it’s not easy. It’s a long story, but he’s lived in his place for 14 years, and has accumulated a ton of “stuff”. He always took very good care of his property and his home, but since he was diagnosed with the COPD, he can’t do the things he used to do, and he just can’t keep up with the acre and a half property, plus his mobile. It’s really a shame; he was always so active. glenn an hour ago

Ad–please don’t insult bitches that way. In my bitchiest day, I could never be as cruel and as inhumane as the TLB. glenn an hour ago

glenn, so it is settled? Conan is a guy? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn – That is a very difficult thing to accept when you’ve been so active in life. I do think it would make a big difference for him and with his depression, to move somewhere where he’s around other people. Being on your own and remote from others can be fine when you’re very active but isolation can really overwhelming at a time like this. AdLib an hour ago

Ad–I’m with you on that one. It’s not just the courts that are so indifferent; it’s the republicans and the TLB’s supporters. I just can’t believe that they are still supporting him; it just doesn’t make any sense to me. I don’t EVER want to hear a republican lecture me on morality, rule of law, and ethics again! glenn an hour ago

glenn – I have a dog and she’s a female but I would never call her a name that I reserve for Trump. AdLib an hour ago

glenn, to be truthful, Fergie is in similar staes of anxiety, depression and frets she can’ t do what she used to. Her severe scoliosis isn’t helping her either. So we’re all in survival mode, it seems. But enough about us! We need a good laugh, like Kid Rock getting thrown off his own MAGA stage for abusing Oprah! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad, she’s a lady. pinkpantheroz 44 minutes ago

glenn – I think that the public hearings in the Impeachment inquiry have already changed the game that Trump’s playing and that the Senate impeachment trial will dement Trump as a criminal and the GOP as in league with him and his criminality. And the bill for that will come due on Election Day. AdLib 43 minutes ago

glenn, I’m with you in refusing to let any Repub try to lecture me on any good quality. pinkpantheroz 43 minutes ago

Ad–You hit the nail on the head. (A slight pun,as my brother is a carpenter). Fortunately, he has a very good friend, whom he calls his adopted son, who lives quite close to him, and also lives on over an acre of property. This friend is willing to let my brother move a travel trailer onto his property where he will be looked after. It’s just getting my brother’s property and mobile in shape to sell it. We started the process when I was still there, but it overwhelmed my brother; he said we were “going too fast” and it just threw him for a loop. He does realize now that after he gets out of rehab, he’s going to have to move fast to get moved. It’s complicated, because he has so much stuff. glenn 43 minutes ago

Ad–I’m just not sure there are any names that the TLB can be called that are sufficient to describe what a loathsome human being he is. glenn 41 minutes ago

Here are photos of a dog that looks like mine and a bitch…

AdLib 41 minutes ago

Whoops, I meant…

AdLib 40 minutes ago

Thats right, glenn! We cannot insult any living creature on this planet by comparison to The Blob. pinkpantheroz 40 minutes ago

PPO–Sounds like you’re dealing with a lot, too. I don’t want you all to feel like I’m whining; it is what it is, and I will do my best to help my brother. You’re right, let’s change the subject. Yeah, Kid Rock is another piece of work, isn’t he? WTH does he have against Kathy Gifford? I think she’s a twat, but she certainly isn’t in Oprah’s league! glenn 39 minutes ago

PPO–How dare you call the TLB a blob! Didn’t you see that picture of his gorgeous chest? glenn 38 minutes ago

BRB guys glenn 37 minutes ago

glenn, the trolls keep going back to Kathy’s one big mistake, rather like pitbulls who just won’t let go. Rock is living proof that The Blob attracts those with IQs in the single digits. pinkpantheroz 37 minutes ago

glenn – Just offering this so take it with a grain of salt but I had to move my very independent mother into a retirement home because she couldn’t take care of herself anymore as she needed to. Years before, she was adamant about never living in one but when I moved her last year, she was okay about it and today, is so happy to be there. Lots of people to interact with and…she even found a boyfriend. It’s kind of assisted living and there are folks there that are suffering from a variety of issues but the quality of life is so much better for her. AdLib 36 minutes ago

Ad, glenn, that also happened with my late Mum. She loved it. pinkpantheroz 35 minutes ago

PPO – I know it’s a one day at a time thing but please keep sharing with Fergie that she has friends all over the place who think about her. AdLib 34 minutes ago

glenn – Agreed, I’m not big on namecalling and there is no one name that could completely portray Trump but his name will be a slur, even worse than Nixon or Benedict Arnold, so there’s that. AdLib 33 minutes ago

My mother was in an assisted living situation and she loved it also. Unfortunately, I really don’t think it would work for my brother. He’s never been the most social of people, and he also can’t afford it, even if he does sell his property. glenn 32 minutes ago

PPO – It does take so much stress off of their shoulders, having meals in the dining room, watching movies and having activities while not having to do daily chores as they’re all done for them. AdLib 31 minutes ago

PPO–I second Ad’s sentiments about Fergie. Tell her we’re all pulling for her! glenn 31 minutes ago

Thanks Ad. Fergie appreciates all your support. pinkpantheroz 31 minutes ago

And glenn pinkpantheroz 31 minutes ago

Ad–that’s the one thing my brother likes about the place he’s in right now…the food. He only weighs about 108 pounds, so I’m glad to see him enjoying the food there. There are definite advantages to it; I’m just not sure my brother would see them. glenn 29 minutes ago

glenn – That’s what’s awful, if you have any assets or money, you can’t afford to be taken care of when you’re older and have serious conditions. My mother had gone through all her money so ironically, she is covered by Medicaid and in combo with her SS and Medicare, her expenses are mostly covered (we help her out a little). If she had any assets, she’d have to lose them all before she could qualify for Medicaid. AdLib 29 minutes ago

glenn, this may sound dumb, as I don’t know your brother, but would he contemplate joining a Lodge, Lions Club or similar? A friend of mine, recently lost his partner and said the one thing that kept him going was the suppor of his local Lion’s Club. pinkpantheroz 28 minutes ago

So, did you all see where the TLB’s campaign chairman told CNN they had no evidence that the TLB’s “chest” photo was photo shopped? That was hilarious! glenn 27 minutes ago

Really, Glenn? What dunderheads! pinkpantheroz 27 minutes ago

Ad–yup. Our health care system sucks, especially for the elderly. My brother is 75 years old, has worked hard all of his life, and has to lose everything to be taken care of. glenn 26 minutes ago

glenn – The things he might grow to appreciate, if he could somehow qualify for benefits to help cover assisted living, because it’s expensive, is having meals made for him and not having to do any chores for himself. Not saying that he would enjoy it though if he’s not as social but getting rid of stress is so important when you’re dealing with an ongoing health issue. AdLib 26 minutes ago

PPO–It’s a perfectly valid question, and at one time, I think it would have done him good. However, until he can get back into “civilization”, he is not able to drive to those places because of the distance from where he currently lives. glenn 24 minutes ago

glenn – We have definitely jumped the shark with Trump and his toadies. When they’re defending a photoshopped Rocky photo as Trump, they are part of a farce and have no clue. AdLib 24 minutes ago

PPO–Yes, they really did tweet that. Dunderheads is a good description. glenn 24 minutes ago

AdLib 23 minutes ago

snigger! pinkpantheroz 23 minutes ago

Ad–No kidding. However, I’m still trying to figure out of they really don’t have a clue, or they think the TLB’s supporters are so dumb, they believe that photo. After all, it looks real, doesn’t it? glenn 22 minutes ago

figure out “if”…. glenn 22 minutes ago

Oh, Ad, please say hi to Kalima for me. Been thinking about her a lot. Hope all is well pinkpantheroz 22 minutes ago

glenn – That’s the cruelty of our system…that Boden and Buttigieg are happy to keep and that Warren and Sanders want to fix. You have to lose everything you own to be taken care of, how crazy is that? AdLib 22 minutes ago

Good one, Ad! glenn 22 minutes ago

Ad–it’s crazy, all right. And the really saddest, craziest part is we’ve been arguing/discussing this for over 40 years! glenn 21 minutes ago

glenn, As Mr T says: ‘I pity the fools”! Yes there will be some simpletons who will swear black and blue that he really is like that – underneath the Kevlar! pinkpantheroz 20 minutes ago

glenn – I think it’s just knee jerk cult behavior now. Anything said against the cult leader must instantly be contradicted. A level of humanity so low, it’s unreachable by most decent people. AdLib 20 minutes ago

OK, folks, time for me to say Sayonara. Enjoy the rest of the holiday if you can. pinkpantheroz 19 minutes ago

PPO – Will do! She has been dealing with so much too. AdLib 18 minutes ago

Thanks PPO, best to you and Fergiie! AdLib 18 minutes ago

Fergie! AdLib 18 minutes ago

Thanks, Ad. BTW, it’s pretty close to the same here that you have to be almost flat broke to qualify for some things. Oh, Fergie says Hi and Thanks! Cheers! pinkpantheroz 17 minutes ago

Ad–if my brother does move in with his “adopted son”, his meals would be taken care of, because the son’s wife would cook for him. She loves him as much as her husband does. I think, at this time, that’s the best move for my brother. And, believe it or not, his “adopted son’s” name is Glenn! How’s that for irony? Two “glenns” taking care of my brother glenn 16 minutes ago

glenn – Which is why the time for status quo and incrementalism is over. No Biden or Buttigieg. We need a Progressive who will fight to make the big changes that scare the establishment. AdLib 16 minutes ago

It sounds like a very good situation for your brother, I hope it’s not an imposition on his “adopted son”. AdLib 15 minutes ago

“Two Glenns” Sounds like a movie! AdLib 14 minutes ago

“The Two Glenns”. AdLib 14 minutes ago

I had to take care of my mother for a couple of years and it was a strain for me, especially towards the end of the last year. I am so in awe of nurses and those who can take care of others. AdLib 13 minutes ago

Ad–I’m with you 100% on that! On one hand, I do understand why you shouldn’t have a ton of assets for the taxpayers to take care of you. On the other hand, I think people should be allowed to give their money to their children, or others. From the way I understand the way the laws are structured, at least in FL, is that you can’t give all your money away before you qualify; you have to spend it all. It’s kind of a Catch-22. Because I certainly don’t want to pay for a millionaire to live on my dime; but I have no problem paying for people like my brother and your mom. If my brother does move in with Glenn, then perhaps we can dispose of his assets slowly to his biological son, and to Glenn so that he can qualify. Those are my thoughts right now, but I haven’t spoken with my brother about them yet, because I want him home and well before we get there. glenn 10 minutes ago

His adopted son keeps telling me my brother is family to him, and that’s it’s no imposition. He is a wonderful, kind soul. Maybe I’ll write it all down and make The Two Glenns into a book! Yeah, the nurses where my mother was were very special and very caring. Don’t know how they do it; because I don’t mind telling you, it strained me to the limit to be patient with my brother, even though I knew deep down that what he is going through isn’t entirely his fault. glenn 6 minutes ago

The problem is that we’ve been so conditioned into the current system that we accept this outrageous situation. Healthcare should be a right for all. The millionaires should be paying more into the system and can be entitled to the same benefits but can and will pay for better treatment. Our system should provide for elderly care for everyone and whether someone is a millionaire or just owns equity in their farm or home or has a nest egg, they shouldn’t be forced to become penniless in order to be taken care of. AdLib 6 minutes ago

A way around that situation is to create a living trust so that the individual, such as your brother, doesn’t technically own his assets but doesn’t have them stripped away from him to qualify for state benefits. AdLib 5 minutes ago

I keep telling you; you should run for office. Your system would work so much better. I just don’t know where or when we have lost our humanity, and our common sense. As you say, it’s taken years of conditioning. glenn 4 minutes ago

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. Don’t know if that’s possible with the current laws, but I will check into it. glenn 3 minutes ago

He really doesn’t have a lot of money; I just don’t want to see it taken away from him. glenn 3 minutes ago

My mother had a caretaker who was incredible. She kind of hit her limit once in a while (I often did) but she was remarkable and even to this day, not being paid a penny for it, comes by the retirement home to take my mother out to lunch or bring her gifts. If anyone is going to Heaven, she will be at the front of the line. AdLib 2 minutes ago

So, with all that in mind, I’m going to sign off. Thanks for listening to my “tale of woe”. Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend. glenn 2 minutes ago

She certainly will. glenn a minute ago

‘Night glenn a few seconds ago

No worries, glad you shared it with me. AdLib a few seconds ago
