With the weather being what it has been for the last few weeks, I think it’s somewhat fitting to do a music thread about the weather, literal weather or metaphorical. I also give my sincere regrets to all those good people in the Midwest whose lives were upturned in an instant and to the survivors of those that lost their lives.
This weekend’s thread is about any weather condition, or floods as such songs may address the stormy weather in real life or the type of stormy weather that those in relationships and those alone, may go through.
Stevie Ray Vaughan – Texas Flood
Gary Moore – Stormy Monday
Stormy Weather – Lena Horne
The Rolling Stones – Jumpin Jack Flash
Lou Christie – Lightnin’ Strikes

Very nice agrippa. It’s always good to hear artists that I’ve never heard before.
You don’t know what you’ve been missing KT. I stayed with her in London every time she was there to perform at Ronnie Scott’s Club, she turned me on to jazz when I was just 15. A great and talented artist and a wonderful human being. I moved around a lot and then when we came to Tokyo, I lost contact with her. She is in her 80’s now.
Kalima, I just read that the late great Charlie Parker had discovered her, many years ago. I have been been missing out. She’s very good.
agrippa, thanks for turning me on to her. I love her.
Hey FC, this is one of my favorite Willie Nelson tunes.
KT, it’s hard to not like Willie. We played Willie and Waylon at our wedding! Our kids said, “Yeah, right” like either they didn’t get it or they didn’t think we were cool. Har! Kids!
Ha FC, probably both! 😉
