The white house was right earlier this week the blog world is ridicuous headed by Arianna Huffington.

Arianna’s latest article is a testiment to how insane utter hyperbole has gone in the blog world.  She says VP Biden should resign because Obama may not go with his recommendations on Afghanistan.  While I tend to agree with Biden’s view of how to proceed in Afghanistan versus General McChrystal’s view of sending 40,000 more troops like I posted last week, the Biden plan is in no way a withdrawal strategy like she implies.  In fact it’s an escalation of the previous strategy enacted by President Obama.

Of course since it’s Queen Arianna’s opinion the thread is fully moderated so posters cannot even have their real opinions expressed with such outlandish posts.  Watch Arianna will be a Ron Paul Republican by the end of the year to get more hits on her site.

Suggesting that VP Biden should resign if President Obama formulates his own strategy out of some vapid principles that did not exist in the first place shows how low the blog world has sunken since corporate bases sites like HuffPo have taken it over.

I don’t know whether Arianna is a Republican or some hybrid libertarian ala Ron Paul. Personally, I don’t care; I don’t like the lady. There are many reasons I don’t like her. Some of them have to do with her politics. Her piece on Biden last weekend was reprehensible and just plain stupid. Some of them have to do with her unabashed and manipulative capitalism. But most of them have to do with her overtly sexist use of celebrity and women’s bodies to attract and feed the more lascivious and malevolently sexist males to her site. For a woman to approve of this sort of editorial content is especially disgusting. And I think that these anti-Obama posts every weekend together with the scrubbing and the banning are just another symptom of that same manipulative compulsion. I have always felt ambivalent about her site partly because of the hideous advertising, but mostly because of the concentration on wealth celebrity.

I was getting more and more uncomfortably with HuffPo also. For many of the same reasons. Some of the celebrity articles were the antithesis of what many libs stand for. How many of us, who were proud of Hillary’s presidential run, then wanted to “vote on who has the best chest in Hollywood?” You’d have to be schizophrenic to hold those divergent views of what makes women valuable! The whole site was like that. Still, many could have tolerated that as just an advertising gimmick. It’s the censorship that’s really spoiling the fun.

Why Arianna Should Quit.
When Arianna Huffington began The Huffington Post, it was a breath of fresh air. The articles and commentary were of the highest caliber, often, and didn’t head for the gutter faster than Mickey Rourke in “Barfly”. It attracted members with the level of discourse, and the freedom it provided them to pretty much write whatever they wanted. Then it changed. Endless stories about Jennifer Anniston, Tom Cruise and Amy Winehouse (a person I’d never even heard of until I read about her on Huffpo). A Surge of Trolls. Comments pending; l earning h ow t o t ype l ike t his t o g et y our c omments t o go (when that DID work..)
What better statement could the Great Bloviatress make than to resign in protest, and remove her name from the site! C’mon, Arianna, don’t make us wait for the mea culpas. Before Britney’s boobs and Sarah Palin’s sheer obnoxiousness completely replace news on your site, RESIGN! It would be the right thing to do.

Excellent!

We should make your post a petition for people to sign then submit it to the press and HuffPo.

Think HuffPo would do an article on it?

Methinks not! But we could try, just for the fun of it.

Exactly right!!

this situation she created with her op-ed has triggered two thoughts in my mind.

1) the VP of the USA doesn’t resign because there’s a difference of opinion on policy. that’s absurd. Maybe Palin would quit, but that’s not how it should be done. It shouldn’t even be a consideration.

2) who can take anything Ms. Huff says seriously, when her website’s headlines are as sensationalist as a tabloid rag in the grocery store?

truth is truth, and if she endorses it, i will agree with her. but when she starts talking out of her arse to be sensationalist, i must step away. she’s just another talking head. only with consistency of righteousness for the sake of America does one earn any credibility. there’s only a few these days. (thanx, Bill Moyers!)

At the same time her article was on the site whining about the MSM focusing on meaningless trivia, the top story in hot red in a banner on every page of HuffPo was, “Baloon Boy Found Safe – Developing!”

HuffPo is a hack site despite many earnest and legit people blogging there.

The sum of its purpose is to exploit progressives to make as much money as possible, there is no genuine progressive philosophy to the site, Arianna or her hedge fund partners.

Progressives are just seen as suckers, no differently than conservatives are seen as suckers by Fox.

It is so hilarious! Arianna was on the Ed Show today to exploit her purposely bullshit article about wanting Joe Biden to resign…when Balloon Boy took all the wind out of her superficial sails. That’s all MSNBC and Ed wanted to talk about.

She then “got even” by writing a wah-wah article on HuffPo to decry how the MSM is so shallow and attracted to stories that are hollow and sensationalistic.

Yep, this coming from the hollow and sensationalistic woman who wrote that contrived article just to get on the news shows.

Arianna, a word of advice, live by the bullshit, get buried by the bullshit.

So funny!

As I’ve quoted before from Airplane 2, “Sometimes irony can be pretty ironic.”

Heh! I’m thinking that each time Arianna is scheduled to be on a news show, one of us releases a UFO-shaped balloon.

Or claim to have discovered cold fusion, a cure for cancer or intelligent life in the GOP.

or an in-fusion that cures the common cold!

Or a con-fusion that makes us wrongly claim our 6 year old is in a runaway balloon.

Emphasis on the “con”.

Go to her post and it doesn’t even say something like “Why Joe Biden Should Resign On Principle”. Course not! Read it the way it is, and you think she’s got a beef with Biden, rather than the Prez. You’re pulled in more, your curiosity needs to be sated. What, did Joe Biden do something awful I haven’t heard abou t yet, you’re thinking. One of the reasons I left there was because of all of the misleading headlines. “Fights” that didn’t exist, etc. She’s gone over the top with this one in ALL respects, but even the headline was chosen to be as sensationalistic as possible.

Does Arianna really believe anything she says? Isn’t it more her desperate need for attention, so she can get invited again on Morning Joe and Larry King?

She wants to be the left’s Glenn Beck. An egotist with no practical solutions, just Rushian/Beckian hyperbole to fill the huge gap of reason that attention-getting bullshit creates.

If one were to take anything she says seriously, which IMHO would be a mistake, her proposition is that anyone who disagrees with what their colleagues’ opinions are, should just quit.

Though this seems to work well for her in the way HuffPo is run (no opinions opposing Arianna allowed) and the way she has comments on her articles always heavily moderated to screen out strong opposition, it is not the way a democracy works.

Not that Arianna cares about democracy, her hedge-funded, misleading headlined site attacking Obama and riling up her readership for more clicks shows a cynical greed at work, not a genuine interest in this country’s democracy.

If her contrived outrageousness was to be taken as a legit opinion, then all Dems who support a Public Option should resign in protest from Congress since the Baucus bill was passed by Dems without a Public Option.

Yeah, that would show them Repubs, leaving them in control of Congress! Quitting is what democracy is all about!

Come to think of it, Arianna seems to be following Sarah Palin’s philosophy. Birds of a feather.

Cuckoos.

Her photo annoys me, she doesn’t look anything like this, she was always a Repug I thought.
Watching the BS from the outside, I salute you all, in time we will all be equal I hope.

Not been around much sorry, sleepy sickness or not getting enough. I hope to see you soon.

Feel better, Kalima!

I like and added that photo of her to the library (but of course KQuark wrote the article and selected it) because to me it exudes all the phoniness and lust for celebrity and wealth that is Arianna.

That this photo of her comes off as annoying is a good thing, that was the intention.

Now that I’m back, hope to see you around more, get better!
