Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then! AdLib 3 hours ago

Hey glenn! AdLib an hour ago

Hey Ad–Woo-hoo! I’m number 1! On VOX, that is! How are you? glenn an hour ago

Worried for a sec! Hi all! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

You just beat PPO by a matter of seconds! Welcome glenn! AdLib an hour ago

Hey PPO–How are you? How’s Fergie? glenn an hour ago

PPO – Why were you worried? AdLib an hour ago

No sign of Vox when I logged in! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO–Yeah, same thing here; I had to scroll up to get Ad’s greeting! glenn an hour ago

Weird. Maybe it didn’t refresh from earlier? AdLib an hour ago

Hey Murph! glenn an hour ago

Hey Murph! AdLib an hour ago

This is the age of angst! MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Hello Ad, Glenn and PPO MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

glenn, Fergie is OK, as well as anyone with her litany of chronic problems. But We’re staying in and not believing it is OK to go out. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Hiya Murph. How are the limbs doing? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

So…I voted in GA’s primary Tuesday. I had a much different experience than those in minority counties. Didn’t have to take my mask off to verify i.d.; free glove to touch the machine; free hand sanitizer after; in and out in less than 20 minutes! What a difference a demographic makes. I live in a city that is 80% white. glenn an hour ago

Trump is going to tell all his fans in Tulsa to drink the Kool-Aid he’s going to serve…but they have to sign a waiver that if they die because it’s poisoned, they can’t sue him. AdLib an hour ago

glenn, wow! so no 4 hour wait in rain? funny, that pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO…always impressed with your compassionate care for Fergie….ain’t love grand. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

PPO–Hanging in there is a statement of faith nowadays. I’m pretty much doing the same thing. Only going to places I absolutely have to–voting; grocery store. glenn an hour ago

Murph, simply, she is my life. Period pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – You and Fergie are too smart to buy that BS, iintended to let people get infected and die to sacrifice themselves for the wealthy’s profits. AdLib an hour ago

PPO…my arm is on the mend. PT next week. I cannot raise my arm any higher than midchest but that is big improvement. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad–Why didn’t Jones think of that? glenn an hour ago

Murph–good news you’re on the mend. glenn an hour ago

Ad, true. Football has restarted, all codes. stadia are filling up to 25% capacity. But what about the queues for the concessions? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO….She is my life….what a tribute!

MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

glenn – That’s very enlightening, glad you were able to stay safe and I knew you’d be out there voting! But the difference between your neighborhood and the black neighborhoods with 5 hour waits to vote are so blatant. AdLib an hour ago

Glenn…we are all making do as best we can. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

PPO–Funny, that, indeed. Oh, and it wasn’t raining where I was. glenn an hour ago

PPO–So, is the 25% capacity mandated, or is that just how many fans are showing up? As for the concessions, doesn’t one have to take risks for a beer? glenn an hour ago

I have been having a horrified giggle at all the Karen videos coming out of the woodwork. Where have these slugs been hiding? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO–Awww, you bring tears to my eyes! glenn an hour ago

Murph – Hope the pain in your arm has gotten better. AdLib an hour ago

glenn, feral footie fans are universally blind to safety to get to their bevvys. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn – Trump is a more experienced killer than Jim Jones was. AdLib an hour ago

Ad….the pain is tolerable…I resist the pain killer meds….too many side effects. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad–yeah, the difference was astounding, although I don’t know why it should be. I wrote a short post about the entire experience in reply to your short post about voting in GA. glenn an hour ago

glenn, mandated, but I don’t know how they can police it pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO–the slugs have been hiding under their rocks, and for some reason, have decided to come out from under them. glenn an hour ago

slug pellets in November! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO–They can only sell so many tickets? Perhaps they need to borrow the RTLB’s waiver to fill the seats to capacity! glenn an hour ago

PPO – Watching Maddow and infections up 25% or more in a third of states, it’s really going to explode here in about 2-3 weeks. And Trump is also going to have cruise ships in Jacksonville for people to stay on. Repubs are going to all be radioactive, stay away from them! AdLib an hour ago

PPO–Much like those in the US! glenn an hour ago

glenn, perhaps, but I’m betting the authorities are kicking themselves not to have punters sign a waiver! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad–Yup, over 100,000 and counting! glenn an hour ago

Aren’t many states seeing a spike after Memorial weekend? Who knew! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – The way it usually works, the Karens have been at it for a while, just being filmed now. But there also seems to be a spike in freaked out older white women throwing tantrums at people of color. Did you see the Karen who grabbed a young woman and she slapped her hard? The narration by the guy shooting it is great too. AdLib an hour ago

Imagine the hubris of Trump who so needs a crowd to deliver worshipful cries of joy and deriding anger to the “enemy” that he is so willing to place his people (including himself and his family) into a massive incubator so that he is “properly” nominated…..Greek Tragedies have demonstrated the impact of Hubris…utter destruction…. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad–oh, for goodness sakes, what is wrong with you? Dontcha know that COVID-19 is over? I mean, it must be, right? It’s warm weather; and the RTLB and his VP said it would be over by now, so isn’t it? glenn an hour ago

Murph – Yep, painkillers especially over a long period of time, mess you up. AdLib an hour ago

Very satisfying, Ad. Also the asian dude who whupped the racist on the crosswalk, knoched him out, pullled him off the road and said sorry! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn – I’m going to reply to it! AdLib an hour ago

PPO–Exactly…the players are the ones who should have signed the waiver. glenn an hour ago

glenn, there are probably deals on the side there to get the Mon… er… season restarted. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad–That video of the Karen who got slapped was karma in action. Don’t know if it’s actually true or not, but many people commented that the slapper wasn’t Hispanic, but Native American. “Go back to your own country, indeed.” glenn an hour ago

Here in Mo. the governor and his cabinet are an interesting crowd…….really guarding the state well…….impressive….asking the hospitals to lead the way and to govern policy and response. Businesses are taking social isolation seriously..however the every day person is acting like it’s all good and are pretending there is no problem. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Murph – I look at it as the “Killing the Golden Goose” mentality. Trump is panicked, is depressed and freaked out. He sees his polls failing. He needs his “gold” right now, the attention, the emotional boost from his cultists cheering him, the feeling that he can win so he will kill the golden goose to squeeze out all he can get right now. AdLib an hour ago

Murph–stay strong! Sometimes living a better life through chemicals doesn’t necessarily work. glenn an hour ago

Ad….good analysis…..a bit early here someone made a comparison with him and Jones……fitting. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad, isn’t everyone in tulsa telling him to stay out of there? Tulsa should insist on the money up front. That will stop them pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO–priorities, priorities! glenn an hour ago

Glenn….it is a balancing act….enough pain relief to get what needs doing done and to do PT but not so much as to get hooked. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

glenn – Thankfully, I hear that there is no spike or 2nd wave from Kudlow who also assured in Feb that they had Covid airtight under control. SO I’m gong to lick everyne’s ice cream at the county fair this weekend! AdLib an hour ago

Murph–interesting about your governor. Good for him! glenn an hour ago

Murph, that is delicate for sure. Take care with it. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – Yes, I have to admit, I’ve watched both of those videos multiple times. I know that the way we beat these racists is by avoiding returning their violence but seeing people defend themselves and knock out racists…how can you not enjoy that? AdLib an hour ago

Glenn…the governor ended up in the job because the original lt. gov. had to resign and then the gov had to resign….scandals…..so he moved on up…a down state farmer/rancher who was in the state legislatureo on and off for 30 years. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Love that T-Mobile is boycotting Tucker Carlson and Fox News. they must be changing Pampers every hour there pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad–The RTLB is certainly panicking right now. I do believe that he thinks (using the RTLB and “thinks” in the same sentence is a stretch, I know) he can whip up his base and win again. It seems, though, that most Americans have finally seen his act one too many times now, and are just plain sick of him. glenn an hour ago

Murph – That’s surprising but good to hear. Though we all saw what happened at The Lake of the Ozarks and in other red states as well, where wearing a mask is seen as a betrayal of Trump. Don’t know how those two things can coexist successfully together. AdLib an hour ago

PPO…Tulsa is having a fierce resurgency with COVID……a trump rally is not good news. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad…..the gov actually closed down access to two towns there with State Troopers when they refused to comply with the State Health Dept policies. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Yep, Trump is a cult leader like Jones, willing to kill all of his minions because he sees them as worker ants. AdLib an hour ago

PPO–I think there’s actually a petition to the Mayor of Tulsa asking him to refuse to let the RTLB come. However, the mayor has resorted to the old “free speech” thingy saying that the RTLB should be allowed to speak. I agree, ALL places where the RTLB is planning to rally should tell the RTLB that they want their money upfront, or no permits will be issued. glenn an hour ago

Wow. Ad, surely it can be stopped then. Or are they still so afraid of the bullying coward? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad…Better to die than to live without Trump as the President. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Hey, Tulse, do what they did for the convention : Social separation, No mask, no entry, limit crowd. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Murph–You are smart to modify your meds. That’s what messed up my brother so bad. Too many meds working against each other, plus he is not the most positive person. glenn an hour ago

Ad–Yes, “Dr.” Kudlow has assured us again about COVID, so I’m sure you can go out and do whatever you wish this weekend! glenn an hour ago

The mayor in Tulsa was wetting himself to try and get Trump to have this Deathfest there. So, it’s a done deal and won’t be stopped. It’s next weekend. AdLib an hour ago

PPO….such a move would require the Tulsa admin being willing to take on the Trump organization….despite how smart your idea is…..obedience to teh Dear Leader comes firt. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad and PPO–Plus, since so many of today’s racists are actually “outing” themselves on their social media posts, that several of them have lost their jobs! It’s about time that blatant racism has consequences, other than “that’s just their opinion.” glenn an hour ago

I hate to drop out so early but I am very tired tonight. This arm is mending but the work arounds are exhausting. Wishing you all a good week. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Murph–WOW! Correct me if I’m wrong, but your governor is a repub isn’t he? glenn an hour ago

Sadly, You’re right, Murph. Ah well, it will be somewhere for the NASCAR MAGAts to happily infect each other. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Get well soon, Murph, cheers for now pinkpantheroz an hour ago

So do we think that Trump can do enough racist things to scare white women into voting for him? AdLib an hour ago

Murph–you have a good week as well. Hope the pain abates as you heal. Take care! glenn an hour ago

Ad, Kudos to the Military for finally banning the Confederate/Trump Battle FLag pinkpantheroz an hour ago

…and NASCAR. Wonder how long they’ll keep it up? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Doesn’t it seem like in the current BLM era, Trump’s gameplan based on racism, has no chance? AdLib an hour ago

Ad–Depends on the white woman….He is so “manly” and all, what with his talk about “dominating” the streets, ya know. Just makes me want to “swoon” (or more likely, vomit). glenn an hour ago

Ad, I believe so. I’ve watched CBS Morining news and it seems that people are seeing the response to BLM is better an stronger this time. Hope it keeps going pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Yes, it sure seems that the dam on racial justice has broken. AdLib an hour ago

PPO–It’s about time the military did that. And, it’s about time the confederate flag was banned everywhere. We’re not there yet, but NASCAR is a good start! glenn an hour ago

Ad–The RTLB’s game plan on racism still has a chance with his rabid fans, but I do think the tide is turning… glenn an hour ago

Ad, is it possible for all of the Ehite Supremacist/Nazi/KKK groups to be labelled domestic terrorists and pursued? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

glenn – But I would hope most of the white women who have that “daddy” issue are already in Trump’s camp. The race issue seems to be “trumping” anything else Trump is trying. AdLib an hour ago

Of course, we are also seeing the righties defending police from all those “thugs” and antifa terrorists. The facists and racists seem to be on the defensive, for a change. glenn an hour ago

Who would have thought that a small, personal mobile phone/video device could change the history of the world? Think about it. Without the immediate impact of action in live time being readily available without censoring by big Gummint, who knows if we would have ever gotten to this BLM stage. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – Under Biden, I think the white supremacist mvement will be chased down and taken apart. Those days need to be over. AdLib an hour ago

Oh, I hope so too, Ad. pinkpantheroz 44 minutes ago

PPO–I think the ACLU has already labeled those groups “domestic terrorists” but it only matters if the RTLB does it. Plus, he RTLB has labeled those groups “very fine people” and labeled the protesters as “terrorists”. glenn 44 minutes ago

glenn – Since Biden and other Dem pols haven’t adopted the purposely misunderstood, “Defund the Police”, I don’t think Trump scaring people that Dems want to end policing will work. AdLib 43 minutes ago

PPO – On one hand, phones and social media brought us to the edge of destruction, now the camera in phones seems to be pulling us back. AdLib 42 minutes ago

Ad, Joe is being very, very good at not giving the GOP ammo against him. He is simply allowing RTLB to condemn himself with his own words. I love Sarah Cooper! pinkpantheroz 41 minutes ago

glenn – And think about how Trump and Barr started off with The Big Lie that Antifa was doing all the evil in the protests and were the majority of protesters. That was right out of the history of tyrannies and Orwell’s 1984. AdLib 40 minutes ago

Ad, true, the Black Hats nearly ruined the world with their lies and propaganda and fake crises. Us White Hats ( the good kind!) are fighting back well. pinkpantheroz 40 minutes ago

PPO–Certainly, the impact of the mobile phone video is responsible for much change. It’s the perfect conflation of modern technology and people power. glenn 38 minutes ago

Yes, Joe is winning by keeping a lower profile and not stepping into traps. Works for me. AdLib 38 minutes ago

Ok, who will he pick as VP? pinkpantheroz 37 minutes ago

Ad–I do think that Dems do have to get out in front of the “defund the police” meme. Repubs are starting to “define” it to mean no police forces. The Dems need to make a case for what the phrase actually means, without answering the repubs’ version of the phrase. glenn 36 minutes ago

PPO – And the protests aroud the world betray a possible “Global Spring” of nations throwing out the tyrant populists now in power. We will set those dominoes falling by throwing out Trump. AdLib 36 minutes ago

PPO–I love Sarah Cooper, too. My favorite is still “How to medicate”. Her expressions and gestures are the best. glenn 35 minutes ago

Ad, that would be fantastic. glenn, I agree, and it seems the Biden Campaign is not biting on that GOP hook. pinkpantheroz 35 minutes ago

Sarah Cooper for VP! pinkpantheroz 35 minutes ago

Yep, enjoy Sarah too, very funny! AdLib 34 minutes ago

So is Kamala going to be VP? AdLib 34 minutes ago

Ad–It seems that so many of the RTLB’s and Barr’s lies/misdirections/conspiracy theories are coming back to bite them in the ass. Most of those videos are showing that it’s the RTLB’s supporters who are starting the chaos; many witnesses, including the press, are directly refuting the police’s version of events; and even the courts are telling Barr to go fuck himself. I hope the RTLB has to spend a few more hours in his bunker. glenn 33 minutes ago

I’m leaning toward her. pinkpantheroz 33 minutes ago

I assume there are lines outside every bookstore to buy Bannon’s book, am I right? pinkpantheroz 32 minutes ago

Ad–Yeah, it would be great if Joe just continued his low profile, because he does tend to step into traps. I think he should start issuing some policy decisions once he solidifies his VP pick. glenn 32 minutes ago

OK you two, I’ll head away for now. Take care. You are all so very special to us. pinkpantheroz 31 minutes ago

glenn – I think the “inject Lysol” moment was the breaking point, when the nation finally said, “He really is an idiot con man!”. Since then, of course he’s done many horrible things but the decline seemed to start then. Then after attacking peaceful protesters for a messed up photo op, cemented him as a nutjob with too much power. AdLib 30 minutes ago

PPO and Ad–I think Kamala is the front runner now. I really do love her prosecutorial demeanor when she gets to questioning rubes in Congress. glenn 30 minutes ago

Seeya PPO1 AdLib 30 minutes ago

PPO–Take care of yourself and Fergie. You two are special to us, too. glenn 29 minutes ago

I’m fine with Harris, she will do a good job as VP. Warren has more going for her overall but in this moment, I think a woman of color needs to be the VP. AdLib 29 minutes ago

I do think it’s important for Dems to have a younger woman of color on the ticket with Biden, to sustain the enthusiasm in the BLM protests and make a big statement about equality. Sometimes, symbolism is very important and Harris is a very smart and accomplished woman. AdLib 26 minutes ago

Are you still here, glenn? AdLib 23 minutes ago

Ad–I’m not sure that was the breaking point. I truly think the stock market declines have become way too much for the RTLB’s corporate supporters. The way I see it, the RTLB started on third base with the economy, and as long as he could keep it going, the corporatists could convince themselves that he was a “leader”. If you think about it, the stock market is basically how much confidence the corporatists have in the person in the oval office. Once the RTLB showed he couldn’t handle the safety of businesses, the market tanked. Now that the RTLB has to start from the beginning, like everyone else, he proves time and time again, that he has no idea what he’s doing, and has no idea how to get the economy back on track; has no idea how to stop the virus from spreading; therefore keeping consumers inside and not buying; and no idea how to stop the protests in the street. IOW, he has no idea what he’s doing, as most of us have known from the beginning. But as long as the markets were good, he could fake it, and the corporatists would go along. Yes, the people in the streets played a large role in this, but I think it’s the corporatists who are pushing this just like everything else. Although some of them are making large profits from these disasters, they see the writing on the wall. After all, the NFL has actually admitted Kaepernick was correct; NASCAR is banning confederate flags, etc. I’m hoping the RTLB is toast. glenn 20 minutes ago

There is no way the RTLB will get the economy back where it was when he tanked it, and that’s the bottom line with those guys, IMO. glenn 19 minutes ago

Ad–Yes, I’m still here. Was just typing something I’ve been pondering for a while now. Agree with you 100% on Harris. We need symbolism, but Biden, Harris, and the Dems have to follow through, or they’ll lose in 2024. glenn 17 minutes ago

or we’re no better off than we were under the RTLB. It’s time for big moves and people like AOC to shake up the establishment. glenn 16 minutes ago

Okay, are you still here, AD? glenn 16 minutes ago

I agree with all that you mentioned, all of those were reasons that Trump began looking like he was unfit but his followers had rationalizations for all of it that kept them in line. Sometimes it’s a tiny straw that breaks the camel’s back and I think the injecting Lysol and sunlight in the body thing was the one thing they couldn’t rationalize away. They see Trump as a savior, everything bad that happens is a conspiracy by Dems, the virus, the economy, etc., but those insane and idiotic words couldn’t be blamed on anyone else. All doubts that Dems were to blame for what Trump says annd does was undermined by that. It’s also the reason he ended the briefings and abandooned efforts to stop the pandemic and I think the country saw that too. AdLib 15 minutes ago

Nope, but Trump is using every trick in the book to prop up a phony economy that wll collapse anyway. It doesn’t matter, I don’t think even a slightly better recession helps Trump. AdLib 14 minutes ago

Right, symbolism can and should be part of the campaign but after winning office, we need a fast moving and substantial series of changes and laws to make big improvements. AdLib 13 minutes ago

Ad–for sure it’s the little things that break the camel’s back. You may be correct; that may have been the breaking point. I just think there were too many big things underlying that little thing. Whatever it was, I’m as hopeful as I’ve been since the RTLB took office. I didn’t think there was any way he could lose because of his insane support, but I really believe the tide has turned and he is going to get buried under all his shit. glenn 11 minutes ago

But a campaign is about exciting your base, making promises and doing symbolic things that represent beliefs and a vision for the future. As you say, they need to do so while prepping a coordinated and massive gameplan to hit the ground running when they get in office. AdLib 11 minutes ago

The bad thing is that he has around 40% support no matter how many 100,000s of people he shoots on 5th Ave. The good thing is that it’s onlly about 40% and without any third parties of note draining away votes, Biden has a ceiling of up to 60% to win, most likely low to mid 50%s. But that will win the swing states and the WH. AdLib 9 minutes ago

Exactly. We need to make big improvements. I’m as hopeful as I can be that the Dems can re-take the Senate, so Dems/progressives should be able to make big improvements. With that being said, I’m going to close on this hopeful note. Always enjoy chatting with you Ad. Take care. I hope you have a good week; stay safe and hopefully we’ll chat next week. glenn 9 minutes ago

Imagine, repairinng and enhancing the Voting Rights Act. Fixing gerrymandering. Fixing the ACA and lowering prices on premiums and medicine. Taxing the wealthy and lowerig taxes n the 99%. On and on (hopefully stopping gerrymandering too). They could be in a position to fix our election system which would prevent insane Repubs from holding power again (they’d have to become sane to win). AdLib 6 minutes ago

Coming after Trump, I think the majority of Americans are wide open now to much more Progressive policies than they were under Obama. They opposed the ACA then, now a big majority supports the ACA and even universal health care and M4A. And can we pass gun laws? Immigration laws? Success on all those fronts would keep Dems in the majority for a while. AdLib 4 minutes ago

And a Dem Congress could run an open investigation into how Russia and other countries have infiltrated our elections and the GOP (and NRA). AdLib 2 minutes ago

And a big ask from me would be Congress adding 2 seats too the SCOTUS and turning it arud to represent justice again (and be an antidote to any and all terrible rulings by Trump judges in lower courts). AdLib a minute ago
