“Around 430 B.C., not long after a war between Athens and Sparta began, an epidemic ravaged the people of Athens and lasted for five years. Some estimates put the death toll as high as 100,000 people. The Greek historian Thucydides (460-400 B.C.) wrote that “people in good health were all of a sudden attacked by violent heats in the head, and redness and inflammation in the eyes, the inward parts, such as the throat or tongue, becoming bloody and emitting an unnatural and fetid breath” “

“Nobody knew there’d be a pandemic or an epidemic of this proportion. Nobody has ever seen anything like this before.”
-The Genius, President Donald Trump-
Epidemics that were very likely to have been caused by viruses have been around for at least 5000 years. Mass burials, with bodies heaped together in pits, without sign of violence, are clear evidence. That the corpses were burned, in the pit, is unmistakable proof.
What do you think would have been the penalty for concealing information about the spread of the virus way back then. Death! Or in the 14th. Century? The person would not have survived the mob and a bloody execution. Typhoid Mary died after years of imprisonment. People who hid smallpox, in the last century, were burned out. When I was young, I saw what had been squalid tarpaper shacks that had been burned to the ground because they had been touched by the plague.
It wasn’t wishful, or “aspirational” thinking that made Trump lie in the first days of this epidemic. Lies that may eventually kill millions. Maybe it’s because Mafia thugs always lie – it’s the air that they breathe. Maybe human life is of no value, according to Trump. It really doesn’t matter. Maybe there’s no reason, and Trump is insane. At any rate, he killed intentionally; even if we never understand why. He did it wilfully. He used television and digital media to multiply the harm. He had more than enough information that danger was ahead, and he ignored it all. That is murder, times 100,000. And it is dereliction of duty.
A military commander who shirked his duty, and cost a hundred thousand lives, because he “had a hunch” would face a firing squad. A civilian would walk the mile.
But, not Trump. He kills again and again, usually by incompetence and stupidity, often by neglect. Always with disgusting arrogance, and with a sneer on his face. And he is going to keep on killing, in masse, when he orders all schools to be opened. He said that the response and recovery are in the hands of the governors. That was just a run-of-the-mill lie for Drumpf, but the truth will be deadly.
I wonder if the federal police will invade communities and beat children with steel clubs to herd them into school rooms – because they see murdering children as an act of piety, a sacrifice to their evil pagan god, Trump.
I don’t think that anyone would have cared, 5000 years ago, or 2500, or 100; he would have just been put down, and burned in a pit.
I guess we’re more civilized than that now (ha,ha), we will make cute little slogans that rhyme. Nobodies will get a little face time. Trump will boast about how he personally saved, “all the schoolchildren.” And a generation will die either from Trump’s Virus or from remorse.
And, by the way: I predicted today’s, “pendulum” headlines weeks ago when I predicted that the epidemic would come back and hit everyone, but be a mild, 24-hr. virus. I know because I had COVID-19 last August and September, and had a relapse a couple of weeks ago. I lost the vision in one eye, permanently; and all sensation in one foot. I spent ten days constantly fighting to take my next breath. That’s how I know. I did seek medical assistance but was never even tested for COVID-19. I was told that it is impossible to have been sick in August, it didn’t fit the bias.
When immediate action was the only responsible course, Trump hid in the bunker in his head. He wasn’t equipped. He wasn’t even intelligent enough to ask for assistance and guidance from the medical profession.
At the end of the day, one might say that Trump killed a hundred thousand out of sheer arrogance. That is murder.
