Vox Populi begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT! There’s no debate about that! Hope to see you then!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hello!
monicaangela

Hi monia!
AdLib 7 days ago
you had me worried, there, Ad!
pinkpantheroz

Hello AdLib!
monicaangela

That is, monica!
AdLib 7 days ago
hi, Monners!
pinkpantheroz

Hows that PPO?
AdLib 7 days ago
Yes I know, a little typo.
monicaangela

Hello PPO!
monicaangela

finestKind, Ad. Will be watching the Rugby World Cup later
pinkpantheroz

What’s on the agenda tonight?
monicaangela

Hello glenn!
monicaangela

Monica – The fallout from the debate, Afghanistan, Israel and Palestinians, Trump and Carson, a virtual political buffet!
AdLib 7 days ago
Hi all
sillylittleme

Hello sillylittleme!
monicaangela

hi, slm!
pinkpantheroz

Hello, Monicaangela, hello Ad, hello PPO, hello SLM. How is everyone tonight? We have been having just glorious weather here in GA!
glenn

How was everyone’s week
sillylittleme

Hi slm!
AdLib 7 days ago
Okay, so where do I begin. I guess first I’ll say the pundits are really exaggerating Hillary’s so called win
monicaangela

MA – ya a little troubling, #stormiscoming
sillylittleme

Did bernie just hand the nomination to hillary with his ‘eough’ line?
pinkpantheroz

I’m doing fine glenn. Happy to hear you’re having great weather. It isn’t too bad here in Ohio either.
monicaangela

Pink – no, actually everyone is saying Hill who? Except for every media outlet, of course.
sillylittleme

SLM…Troubling storm? Elaborate.
monicaangela

monica – Agreed, Hillary did as well as one would have anticipated. For that matter, Bernie did too. I don’t think there was much of a change in the dynamics of the race.
AdLib 7 days ago
SLM–can you give us more info on #stormiscoming?
glenn

Hey glenn!
AdLib 7 days ago
‘Allo!
Beatlex

MA – that’s one of the hashtags that is a term for the worldwide awakening of the people that we are all getting screwed by the oligarchy.
sillylittleme

Back atcha, Beatlex!
glenn

PPO I don’t believe Bernie handed the nomination to Hillary by being a gentleman and expressing what everybody else was thinking.
monicaangela

PPO – I think Bernie’s covering Hillary on the emails made him the bigger man.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey B
sillylittleme

Ad – precisely, yet somehow the standing O is for Hill…
sillylittleme

Ma, good point, probably better for him, actually, like Ad just said
pinkpantheroz

Adlib, there wasn’t. I actually think Hillary did poorly. After all, we have to remember she has been debating since high school, and had 24 debates with Barack Obama when she lost to him during the 2008 election.
monicaangela

MA and Ad–agree completely on Bernie’s gentlemanly behavior. Hillary still should have to EARN the Dem nomination.
glenn

Diarrhea Donald strikes again!Much to the R’s dismay,LOL
Beatlex

Hey Harleigh – how’s the job?
sillylittleme

slm – The establishment wants Hillary. Wall Street is a huge contributor to Hillary and the MSM corps are in business with them.
AdLib 7 days ago
Good Ol’ Reds under the Bed drivel!, Beat!
pinkpantheroz

Ad – NO!! I am so shocked!!
sillylittleme

It is a micromanaged job. but money is money.
Harleigh

SLM…Excellent. We really do need a revolution televised or otherwise to relieve ourselves of those that would buy and sell us as if we were property. Not to mention steal from us every chance they get because they also own the justice system.
monicaangela

Beatlex–Diarrhea Donald is a good one. Which strike are you talking about? The debate demands or the truth that gwb was prez when 9/11 happened?
glenn

brb
pinkpantheroz

Hey Harleigh and Beatlex!
AdLib 7 days ago
His numbers in Boston proper were 26,000 inside and believe me I crawled through twice to distribute signs, it seemed like far more. It was endless. Outside were another 6,000 that couldn’t get in. They are still reporting it as 20,000 attendees.
sillylittleme

glenn,he never shuts up! it is a running joke,Bernie is a Commie! LOL
Beatlex

hey al and all. brb…
Harleigh

PPO, yes I believe Ad is correct. Anyone who knows anything about debating would tell you Hillary did an excellent job of obfuscation, but that is an elementary way to win a debate. It is more difficult to win a debate with the truth.
monicaangela

Harleigh – I’ll fill a bowl and pass it directly!!
sillylittleme

thx slm i need it
Harleigh

Hey Harleigh.
glenn

Glenn, Hillary if she wanted to be kind to this nation would eject herself from the race and discontinue her attempts to work for the Oligarchs, who happen to be her friends now that she has joined their club.
monicaangela

Hello Harleigh!!
monicaangela

Here ya go Harleigh, relax and enjoy
sillylittleme

monica – There is a backlash potential for Hillary’s strong but walled-off style. I think it worked in the current environment, while she has been under attack by the Repubs and Benghazi/email crap, with questions about her viability. But look out if she feels it’s all behind her and she can go on the attack against Bernie and other Dems, the anti-establishment sentiment in the public nowadays could turn back on her then.
AdLib 7 days ago
I am having trouble getting my comments to post, so I’ll be back in a while.
glenn

Beatlex, Diarrhea Donald is telling the truth this time. It is true, GWB was President during the 9/11 attack. Jeb! needs to get that through his head, he should also ask the families of those that died in the Twin Towers attack, and the families of those that died in Iraq under his failed attempt to take over that country what they think.
monicaangela

MA – we both know that won’t happen, but I agree. Once rejected, rerunning when one is so divisive and really needs the independents to win, should be discouraged.
sillylittleme

Okay, seems like they’re posting now.
glenn

Hello
sillylittleme

Monica–I can’t believe that jebbie keeps saying his brother kept us safe! How can he say that? He is lying through his teeth! Glad to see Diarreah Donald telling the truth, for once.
glenn

So this happened about 50 miles north of us:

AdLib 7 days ago
AdLib, I believe a first debate is always the opportunity to feel out an opponent. I believe that those in the Sanders camp and those in the O’Malley camp, and maybe even in the other two camps will be ready for her during the next debate. I also believe this is why The DNC chair scheduled so few debates. Hillary is only good first time out, after that she’s predictable and begins to lie drastically. She won’t be able to keep it up. Obama proved that.
monicaangela

glenn – This chat function can use up memory sometimes. If it has problems posting comments, just close then reopen your browser, it should work fine!
AdLib 7 days ago
Glenn, Jebbie has a bad case of brother worship…his brother had a bad case of Daddy worship, I guess they find it hard to face the fact that none of them amount to a hill of beans.
monicaangela

Monica, for sure,I was talking about his constant BS.He says something honest by accident once in a while
Beatlex

Yikes Ad
sillylittleme

Thanks for the tip, Ad. Seems to be working okay now.
glenn

Monica–great summary of the bushes!
glenn

MA – they are surrounded by yes men and have been their whole lives, the lot of them
sillylittleme

Ad–is that a flood from rain or something bursting?
glenn

monica – It’s clear that Hillary has a great staff and was well prepared to deflect and redirect questions she didn’t want to answer. “How can you win when you’re an insider?” “I may have lived in the WH and been married to a man President for 8 years and worked with Congress on health care and my contributors are Wall Street and major corporations…but I’m a woman so that kinda “trumps” my being an insider, right?”
AdLib 7 days ago
How bad are things for Rand Paul? He is now “afraid” of what Bernie Sanders might do,like yurn the country commie! It is no wonder his “campaign” is in the toilet
Beatlex

slm, I believe the electorate will begin to see through Hillary. Once her connections to Wall Street are made public and expressed to enough people by word of mouth, she will have a much harder row to hoe. The MSM appears to be protecting her for the moment, but as we know, they are in it for the money. If Bernie or one of the other candidates solicit them, they will be only too happy to take their money and help them destroy her.
monicaangela

Beatlex–well rand did have that “dumbass” live tweet thingy.
glenn

Beatlex, isn’t it terrible that he can continue to gain support with all of the obvious BS he allows to spew through his lips? I can’t see how any sane human being could even begin to think about voting for him or supporting him in any way.
monicaangela

glenn,he is a dumbass! True to form.He seems to be in denial.poor boy,lol
Beatlex

Yep, Jebbie is so right! “My brother kept America safe! If you don’t count the biggest attack on the continental US and all the people killed in Iraq and by ISIS. So there!”
AdLib 7 days ago
Thanks Glenn, but with more time I could give you an even better summary.
monicaangela

SLM, that’s probably why they are so out of touch with the rest of the world.
monicaangela

glenn – The floods and mudslides came from a torrential sudden rain. I saw the lightning on the horizon but didn’t know that the rain and hail was falling like that!
AdLib 7 days ago
MA–I really don’t want to see Hillary “destroyed”. She has served this country for a long time, and some of the republican stunts against her are just so pathetic. That being said, I also don’t think that Bernie should nor do I think he will ever, “solicit” Wall Streeters. I would much rather see Bernie’s support coming from people like you and me.
glenn

Beatlex – Is Rand Paul still running?
AdLib 7 days ago
MA – re MSM & Hill, he won’t take their money and that is why they fear him.
sillylittleme

Hey Kes
sillylittleme

Ad–wow! Are you all in LA getting any of that rain?
glenn

Hey, Kids! How’s everyone tonight?
kesmarn

Who here thinks Joe will go for it? I wish he would, but he has to get in by Mondat IMO
Beatlex

hey kes
Harleigh

Hey Kes–I’m doing well; how about yu?
glenn

monica – I don’t think the MSM has been protecting Hillary, they’ve been singing the Repub mantra of “EMAILS!” for the past months. Now though, I do think they like the idea of “one of their corporate own” now looking more electable.
AdLib 7 days ago
AdLib, LOL!!! She forgot to say that Time Warner, the Parent company of CNN is one of her major contributors. She also should lighten up on that I’m a woman crap. After all, the last time out she was saying gender shouldn’t matter. She’s relying on women to vote for her just because she’s a woman, and she feels the rest of the nation will vote for her because there has never been a woman president. We all want a woman president, just not her.
monicaangela

Doing well here. but I saw on the news tonight that SoCal seems to be getting a mud bath!
kesmarn

Beatlex–Not sure about Joe joining the race. I think he’s a very decent man, but I fear he may be too close to corporations, just like Hillary.
glenn

Hi everyone!
funksands

Hey Funk! How are you?
glenn

Hey, funk! What did you think of the debate?
kesmarn

glenn – Unfortunately, nope, that rain all stayed north of LA but it’s a glimpse of things to come. We’re expecting a lot of rain this year due to a big El Nino. Lots more mudslides and floods to come (though in most of LA, we won’t have those problems).
AdLib 7 days ago
B – Joe is not running
sillylittleme

Not bad Glenn thanks.
funksands

SoCal is so crybaby! ‘It’s hot, It’s dry, It’s on fire, It’s wet, dang mudslides. LOL
Harleigh

I thought it was pretty good. The best CNN could pull off. Hillary and Bernie played their roles very well
funksands

Ad – the first commercial was Citibank
sillylittleme

hey funk
Harleigh

LOL! Harleigh. They just can’t be pleased.
kesmarn

Hey Harleigh
funksands

Glenn, I don’t want to see anybody destroyed, not even Hillary. I have followed Hillary for a long time and realize she will say or do anything to get into the drivers seat…..not for the people, but to continue a path she has mapped out for herself. She wants to get rich, help her friends get rich, and she wants to go down in history with a white washed record that makes it look as though she never earned a penny under the table and was tantamount to a saint. We can’t let that happen.
monicaangela

Hey Funk – like your location
sillylittleme

It’s quiet here
funksands

Hello Kesmarn!
monicaangela

Kes–I know you didn’t ask me; but I’m going to put my 2 cents in anyway. I think the debate showed who the adults are between the two parties.
glenn

monica, I look at the “woman” card as also being double edged. It will alienate the less equality minded white men and after a while, could seem too heavy handed to the more independently minded women if it’s overused.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey, MA!
kesmarn

Right MA
sillylittleme

glenn, just to shake things up.I don’t think it matters who is going to be President.Do anyone here think that congress would go along with Bernie. Not likely more gridlock.
Beatlex

Harleigh – And don’t get me started on the earthquakes!
AdLib 7 days ago
glenn, I’m totally with you on that one. As AdLib’s song said: “Proud to be a Democrat!”
kesmarn

X, if the Dems don’t take back the Senate, nothing much good will happen. If they do, then total paralysis will set in again for 2 more years
funksands

lo al
Harleigh

The floods in California after the fires and the drought make it look like apocalypse in that state…Anyone believe we may be suffering from “CLIMATE CHANGE.”
monicaangela

Monica apparently since 1977 Exxon has
funksands

Hey Funk! Yep, I agree, I thought both Hillary and Bernie looked strong in the debate. We’ll see how the next one goes and where the numbers settle to after a couple of weeks.
AdLib 7 days ago
If one gets a chance Bill Maher is really good tonight
sillylittleme

AdLib, that card is for the primary only. Mark my words, if she wins the primary, all of a sudden she will drop it like a hot potato.
monicaangela

These cable news debates make me nauseous
funksands

Funk – that’s why Carter was trying to light a fire under a generation who chose selfishness instead.
sillylittleme

Funk – I think Dems will take back the Senate in 2016.
AdLib 7 days ago
Hey Murph
sillylittleme

And just when you thought PBS was safe — who do they have on Washington Week? Chuck The Toad Todd! WHY??
kesmarn

Ad, I do too.
funksands

Ad – that is a safe bet
sillylittleme

Hello all…..
MurphTheSurf3

we are a year out and I will vote for the dem ticket.
Harleigh

Funksands, I can complete your sentence. I saw it on the news tonight. The have been covering up the truth. Surprise Surprise, surprise…who say that coming.
monicaangela

Hey Murph!
AdLib 7 days ago
They can’t get to 60 though
funksands

Hey, Murph!
kesmarn

Kes – PBS is also sponsored by the Kochs, you know all that great semi-privatizing
sillylittleme

Hello Murph!
monicaangela

hey murph
Harleigh

Beatlex–I disagree. We Americans can NOT let the republicans take the White House. The damage they have done in the states where they have total control is horrendous! So, while we may still have gridlock, it’s better than republicans totally having control. In addition, republicans can’t even govern in the House of Representatives where they do have a majority, so we can NOT have a repub in the White House.
glenn

We go to the polls Monday,it is a close 3 way race, not likely to be a majority anyway. The price of oil has hurt our economy
Beatlex

Monica – Yep, anyone in CA who doesn’t believe in Climate Change is under three feet of mud.
AdLib 7 days ago
SLM, it’s disgusting. Bill Moyers sure as hell wouldn’t get hired on PBS today.
kesmarn

X, ten years ago did you expect Canada to become a petro-state?
funksands

B…so you don’t like CT either. I can’t stand to even look at him on the screen. Makes my skin crawl…what a poor excuse for an undercover republican operative MSNBC has decided to make a main part of their line-up…disgusting.
monicaangela

Hey Murph! How goes it?
glenn

Beatlex, any predictions on how the Canadian election will go?
kesmarn

Kes – no shit…
sillylittleme

funk, once it became viable to extract the oil sands at a profit. It was not the case in the 70’s
Beatlex

Hey Kes! UpChuck Todd is such a Repub moron, have unfortunately seen his MTP Daily on MSNBC, he makes tortured puns and is snide towards everything having to do with Dems while pumping up Kasich and other Repubs. What a douche.
AdLib 7 days ago
AdLib, even those who do believe in climate change are under there with them. This might be a great opportunity to kick ass and take names while they have that captive audience.
monicaangela

Ad – do you guys have a backup plan?
sillylittleme

The Emperor of Douches, AdLib.
kesmarn

Ad – I hear his MTP is tanking. No one in the 24 – 54 category is watching…
sillylittleme

Kes – nice!!
sillylittleme

Carson Fiorina 2016!!! oops…. acid….
Harleigh

Funk – As long as Dems have a majority in The Senate and a Dem is in the WH, very possible to change the SCOTUS balance! If Repubs filibuster, look for the nuclear option, well worth it to change the course of the SCOTUS back to the middle/left.
AdLib 7 days ago
Harleigh – I told you not to take that tab
sillylittleme

Did anyone watch Maddow tonight. Wow, fracking in Oklahoma is become a real serious problem. Hundreds of earthquakes, and they refuse to stop…it’s sad when people prefer profits over the welfare of human beings and property.
monicaangela

Harleigh–you can’t have carson as prez. He’s too busy selling his book to campaign. Or..maybe he just needs the money.
glenn

oh man slm, washed it own with shrooms and beer…. muhahahaha
Harleigh

Monica–yes, I saw that tonight on Maddow. Scary, isn’t it? Glad those kids got out of that school!
glenn

Monica…..but now the earthquakes have been identified by state government as the result of fracking.
MurphTheSurf3

Illinois, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, all likely Dem pickups in 2016 Senate races They’ll need all 5 to overcome the loss of Nevada
funksands

Has anyone seen the YouTube “Bad Lip Reading” version of the GOP debate? The Carson part of that was hilarious.
kesmarn

CARSON is crazy as a loon, way worse than Bachmann
Harleigh

Glenn, you can say that again.
monicaangela

kesmarn, the parties all govern from the middle more or less.Trudeau, the leader of the Liberals(Son of 60s-80’s Pierre Trudeau) Has virtually ZERO experience
Beatlex

Murph–that’s what Maddow was saying.
glenn

sorry loons
Harleigh

Monica – have been meaning to write a post about all the amazing things that have been happening out here in CA, including to combat Climate Change. CA is a Progressive machine right now, pretty amazing!
AdLib 7 days ago
Murph, I know that. Question is, will the State government put a stop to it.
monicaangela

Glenn….I live in Mo and we see a lot of OK news….the debate there is fevered…..
MurphTheSurf3

Beatlex, so you think Trudeau might not be much of an improvement over Harper?
kesmarn

Monica…doubtful given its political position (corporate conservative)
MurphTheSurf3

slm – Backup plan for Climate Change? We’ll be okay through heavy rains that may come but lots of mudslides will mess things up.
AdLib 7 days ago
Yep Ad, I’ve been reading about a lot of the things Governor Brown has been doing..it’s great. Much more needs to be done though…little by little I guess.
monicaangela

Same as it ever was, didn’t humans cause the Dust Bowl?
sillylittleme

Beatlex–here in the States, no experience in government seems to be what the repubs want. You know, trump, carson, fiorina are the front runners. Sigh…
glenn

Kes – Chuck Todd – The Duke of Douches!
AdLib 7 days ago
SLM – bad weather, bad irrigation and bad planting/harvesting practice.
MurphTheSurf3

California is doing it right. Get a raft of bills passed before the political pendulum swings again.
funksands

Murph, and that’s the problem. People who are in danger continue to put these idiots into office. Why, because they somehow believe that are going to keep those undesirables from getting free stuff. It’s true, sometimes people can’t see the forest because of the trees.
monicaangela

Murph–glad to hear the debate in OK is fevered. Do you think fracking will be allowed to continue?
glenn

slm – I’ll check that out, very cool if MTP tanks under that hack!
AdLib 7 days ago
Yes,he is saying run deficits to spark our stagnant economy. While Harper won’t.Trudeau has some older, really experienced help too
Beatlex

Ohio actually has an issue on the ballet this Nov. that would demolish gerrymandering in the state — effective immediately if passed. I so wish I could vote for that one about 15,000 times. I’ll be working the polls. Anyone know a good hacker for Diebold machines?
kesmarn

X, that’s very sane of Trudeau to say that.
funksands

Monica…the power of propaganda that plays to the darkest beliefs of the base.
MurphTheSurf3

Idiocracy, here we come
sillylittleme

All I hear in this country is Democrats trumpeting our falling deficit.
funksands

Glenn…the power of big oil is very, very great.
MurphTheSurf3

Kes – Yes, I posted a Bad Lip Reading of the 1st GOP Debate a ways back, hilarious!!!
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk–really? All I hear is republicans trumpeting how the deficit is a trillion dollars!
glenn

Funk – yup, even as its hurting main street even more. no cola for ss/ssdi & va
sillylittleme

funksands

Oops… I missed that one AdLib. Sorry about that. I was hilarious, though.
kesmarn

I know Kes, they have a very misleading ad being issued here in Ohio exchanging the numbers for the Marijuana vote to the number for the Gerrymandering vote. Marijuana is 3 and gerrymandering is 2 I believe. They have switched them.
monicaangela

Funk, yes,I agree with you,we are getting like America infrastructure, behind!
Beatlex

Murph-that’s what I was afraid of–the power of oil. OK seems to be a good state for solar and/or wind power. Any talk of those two things there?
glenn

Democrats cheering for austerity, dysfunctional government and eventually recession. Republicans will always have a big advantage in national politics as long as we celebrate this BS
funksands

MA – is that coming from the sec’y of state?
sillylittleme

Actually, gerrymandering is Issue #1, MA. And the MJ issues (competing) are #2 and #3.
kesmarn

Funk – Exactly, making hay while the sun shines her in the Ca Legislature. So much going through and Repubs look like a long term minority in the state for a while to come.
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk–glad to hear CA is recovering from the terminator.
glenn

Glenn…the state gov has placed special taxes on both solar and wind….guess why.
MurphTheSurf3

Sorry–Ad–glad to hear…
glenn

Murph, I don’t believe it’s propaganda, I believe it is built in prejudice, a failure to realize that the privilege that think they have is in effect a placebo to get them to do the bidding of their lords and masters, the Oligarchs that continue to play with their minds.
monicaangela

Ad, I hope an enterprising politico takes the experience and packages it ALEC-like to other blue states and emerging blue state legislatures
funksands

I only know the Ohio ballet because I filled out my absentee tonight in anticipation of working the polls, MA.
kesmarn

Kes – Yes, very excited about OH possibly getting that anti-gerrymandering initiative passed! We have an impartial redistricting committee here in CA, working great!
AdLib 7 days ago
Glenn – WY has enough space and we don’t need much for a huge solar array. The entire world only needs 17 square miles of solar panels to cover our energy needs by 2 times what we already use.
sillylittleme

Monica…without those beliefs the propaganda would not work.
MurphTheSurf3

MA – so spot on
sillylittleme

Murph–OMG–you’re kidding! No, I take that back–I know better. Solar and wind power start-ups should be getting at least the same subsidies that big oil gets. But that would make sense, and we can’t have anything making sense in a republican-led state.
glenn

That’s exactly what they’re proposing here too, AdLib. Impartial committee and lots of openness to public input.
kesmarn

Kes, so they even have the numbers screwed around so bad that they leave 1 out altogether. I am going to try to find a clip of the commercial and place on OT if I can.
monicaangela

That’s disgusting, MA — that they would try to confuse people like that. The 2 marijuana issues are already confusing enough!
kesmarn

Kes….where is that…..impartial committee, lots of openness….
MurphTheSurf3

SLM–those facts about solar power are wonderful. Now, if only we could get republicans to actually listen to them.
glenn

Kes – I don’t think that ploy will work though, you still see the title of the initiative on the ballot when you vote. I don’t think it will work to stop it. Have you seen any polls on it yet?
AdLib 7 days ago
Kes, I haven’t seen the ballot yet, but believe me when I vote next month I will take my time to make sure everything is on the up and up.

Ohio, Murph. An issue on the ballet next month to get rid of gerrymandering!
kesmarn

well i have to work my new job tomorrow. see y’all next week!
Harleigh

Harleigh–g’nite. Don’t work too hard!
glenn

Haven’t seen any polls on it yet, AdLib.
kesmarn

Kes….ohio…kasich country….what’s the chance of success
MurphTheSurf3

Glenn – there are none so deaf as those who can’t hear because their pockets are stuffed with money
sillylittleme

G’ night, Harleigh! Congrats on the new job!
kesmarn

SLM–ain’t that the truth? Pockets are open, but ears are closed!
glenn

Murph, I wouldn’t be surprised if it passes!
kesmarn

BRB
glenn

Harleigh…barely said hello and now “goodbye.”
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, don’t you think it’s about time those “beliefs” were dispelled and exposed for what they really are, a bunch of BS.
monicaangela

Nite Harleigh
sillylittleme

Murph – I think folks on the left and right in OH will support the anti-gerrymandering, considering either party could take the government over and screw around with it. The whole anti-government fervo should work in favor of it.
AdLib 7 days ago
After all, a referendum passed here to defeat Kasich’s union busting plan. When people get mobilized they do get it done here.
kesmarn

Monica, clearly I do…..
MurphTheSurf3

Night Harleigh!
AdLib 7 days ago
Back again, the Aussie Federal Government will seek parliamentary support to allow the cultivation of cannabis for medicinal or scientific purposes, while the Labor Party will today also announce its own separate policy on medical marijuana. Rec use will still be illegal, but at least it’s a start
pinkpantheroz

Ad and Kes..I need to follow these developments…
MurphTheSurf3

Right, AdLib. Gerrymandering can work both ways. (Although the Dems were never as nefarious about it as the GOP here.)
kesmarn

PPO – Cool that this is a global movement. The laws against marijuana are so arbitrary (and rooted in racism here in the US).
AdLib 7 days ago
Did I catch it right during the debate that Hillary thinks pot is okay for sick people but not healthy people? Anyone ever found that argument counterintuitive?
funksands

Kes, you know how politicians are, they simply can’t allow the ignorant electorate to have the opportunity to actually vote for what would be in their best interest, they have to muddy the water in some way to make it appear those that vote are stupid, or just don’t have any business being allowed to vote in the first place.
monicaangela

Too bad I already sealed up my ballot, Murph, or I’d write out the language of the issue for you!
kesmarn

PPO- I am surprised that Oz is still pot restrictive.
MurphTheSurf3

Kes – Any polling on the anti-gerrymandering prop yet?
AdLib 7 days ago
Goodnight Harleigh.
monicaangela

I haven’t seen any yet, AdLib. I’ll have to research that.
kesmarn

Kes…I will find it at a legislative site I know.
MurphTheSurf3

Well, Murph, it does have a hippie pot culture in some states, where a blind eye is cast , except for driving under drugs, but this is the first Federal move.
pinkpantheroz

Funk – Yep, Ol’ Calculating Hillary was very line-straddling on pot, don’t want to upset those conservatives who are also on her bandwagon!
AdLib 7 days ago
Pink – that’s how MA started, we then decriminalized it because the medical providers needed to move it from grow spaces to the doctor/patient. The cops got tired of pulling people over who were licensed. It’s big business in MA.
sillylittleme

MA, yes there’s SO much misinformation out there!
kesmarn

Chris Christie will put to all of this demon weed.
funksands

*put a stop* rather
funksands

Kes, have you seen the actuall issues on the web yet?
monicaangela

Ad – worse they are rooted in a corporate conspiracy to keep cutting down trees and preventing people from self medicating. (Hearst and DuPont)
sillylittleme

slm – You’re so right about that, some doctors are really fighting pot legalization very hard, they see it as slashing some of their business.
AdLib 7 days ago
Kes- I see that Ohio GOP tried to block the referendum and were stopped by your Supreme Court….

http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2011/10/ohio_supreme_court_orders_refe.html

Ohio Supreme Court orders secretary of state to consider referendum vote on new Ohio congressional maps
The Ohio Supreme Court rules unanimously that the Ohio Secretary of State must accept petitions that call for voters to be given a chance to vote on the Republican-controlled General Assembly’s plan to reconfigure the state from 18 congressional districts to 16.

MurphTheSurf3

To Chris Christie, all vegetables are “Demon Weeds”.
AdLib 7 days ago
Funny we haven’t heard anything from Ms. Lindsey since SC flooded. The last time I saw her being interviewed someone was asking her why she thought SC should get government assistance when she voted against government assistance for Sandy victims. I tell, people should be a bit more careful when they have the power to vote for the electorate. You never know when you might need assistance yourself. Do they plan to have the kids table for the children of a lesser republican party in their next debate?
monicaangela

That is true, Murph!
kesmarn

PPO- that is what I thought….beach culture in particular lends itself to pot culture.
MurphTheSurf3

Ad and slm, you’re both right. Never let a weed come between Doctors profit from opiates!
pinkpantheroz

Ad – the cancer docs in MA want it, not so much Big Pharma. And we are a repository(?) for Big Pharma
sillylittleme

Ad – he never saw a vegetable he liked…
sillylittleme

SLM, Big Pharma is a suppository to our wallets!
pinkpantheroz

PPO, and that my friend is part of the reason we have had this battle for so long to get MJ legalized, that and the racial aspect of it…not to mention the right of Police to confiscate property.
monicaangela

Pink – lol, thanks I was gonna play off that but I didn’t want my point lost…
sillylittleme

Speaking of which, I have to drive 3 whole blocks to pick up my legal marijuana in 1 of 50 varieties
funksands

Funk – I get it delivered. It’s only a text away…
sillylittleme

Funk, you lucky lad!
pinkpantheroz

SLM: Oooooo
funksands

Its such a hassle
funksands

Funksands, isn’t it wonderful you have that opportunity without having to look over your shoulder, without having to worry about being harrassed, without having to be treated like a 2 year old.
monicaangela

BTW, watching Maddow in the background and she’s reporting on Obama ruling out any more drilling in the Arctic. So when he let Shell go up there and fail, he was attacked by the left but was he playing the long game once again, knowing they would fail then he could lock the door after them and still say, “Hey, I let them try.” He’s a genius, I think it was the long con!
AdLib 7 days ago
I did find an article that says the anti-gerrymandering issue has broad support in Ohio.

http://wepartypatriots.com/wp/2015/09/25/ohio-anti-gerrymandering-bill-unites-chamber-of-commerce-afl-cio/…….But

BUTT WAIT, IT GETS WORSE: Reporter Caught Smoking on Camera While Covering an Oil Fire

this article also says it wouldn’t go into effect until 2021 while the language of the issue says “effective immediately.” HMmmm…

kesmarn

Funk, get Amazon to drone it into your pad.
pinkpantheroz

Funk – that’t part of how MA is dealing with the “trafficking” issue. We aren’t having success with dispensaries yet.
sillylittleme

Monica, it really is. Helps my wife a lot. I feel very civilized
funksands

Pink, have you heard of Amazon “Now”?
funksands

I wondered that too, about the arctic drilling, AdLib!
kesmarn

That’s wonderful funksands.
monicaangela

Ad – you may be right. I always see him as playing 3D chess
sillylittleme

Ad–once again, our wonderful President outsmarts the “smart” people!
glenn

Ad and Kes. Brilliant strategy. Thanks, Shell for the millions spent in the search. Tough titties it turned out badly ( Yeah right!)
pinkpantheroz

AdLib, are we sure they were drilling for oil up there? Could there have been something else going on? I wonder….
monicaangela

Kes – That’s very cool to hear! I’d hoped so! I would go with the wording in the bill over the article on when it would go into effect. Ohio getting pulled out of being rigged in the future? Fantastic, really hope it passes!
AdLib 7 days ago
MA – what are you thinking? just love to mull theories…
sillylittleme

Shell spent 7 BILLION dollars to determine that there wells in the Arctic were “disappointing”
funksands

MA, another ‘Global explorer’ raising a Russian Sub?
pinkpantheroz

PPO, with the grants Shell gets, and the opportunity to raise an lower gas prices at will, that money was a drop in the bucket. I can’t wait til the world wakes up and realizes the fact that companies like shell are obsolete.
monicaangela

I do too, needless to say! I lost the wonderful Marcy Kaptur via gerrymandering and got stuck with a Teabilly who’s almost as bad as Jim Jordan.
kesmarn

monica – I do think Shell was drilling for oil up there, they’ve been trying unsuccessfully for so long and failing. Now they had their last chance and no matter what else they might want to do up there, Obama has just blocked them and everyone else.
AdLib 7 days ago
Isn’t FL rethinking some of the gerrymandering, something going on in the state judiciary, sorry Harleigh left so soon.
sillylittleme

I know it was a while up the thread about Hillary trying to get votes because she’s a woman. As a woman, I wouldn’t vote for her because she’s a woman than I voted for President Obama because he’s black. I voted for him because I thought he was the best candidate for the job; and his presidency has proven that I was right. I cannot imagine anyone else as President during these times, despite all of the obstruction he has faced.
glenn

Kes – so sorry!!
sillylittleme

slm, ppo, just thought I would add a little food for thought into the conversation. You know it could have been a great opportunity to set up a surprise for Putin up there.
monicaangela

Hey KT
sillylittleme

Glenn, I’m right there with you. I won’t vote for Ted Cruz even though I am a human
funksands

Hey peeps!
KillgoreTrout

Hey slm.
KillgoreTrout

KT!!!
pinkpantheroz

Hey, Homie!
kesmarn

Hi KT, what up?
funksands

What’s up PPO, Homie and funk?
KillgoreTrout

MA – despite what teabaggers think, Putin is an ally
sillylittleme

Kes – That’s a real drag and what’s messed up about gerrymandering. I mean, it’s so obviously undemocratic, how can it not be illegal nationally???
AdLib 7 days ago
Plotting to take over the world. As usual
funksands

Hey KT! Welcome!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, I think it is wonderful that the President not only blocked Shell, but anyone else who might decide to venture up there. I do believe his visit with the Native peoples there during his climate change venture helped to change his mind.
monicaangela

We were just talking about the anti-gerrymandering issue on the Ohio ballot, Homie!
kesmarn

Hey Ad.
KillgoreTrout

Hey KT!!!
monicaangela

Funk–you may be a human, but I don’t think cruz is!
glenn

Sounds like good news Homie.
KillgoreTrout

Funk – sounds good, how’s that coming along?
sillylittleme

There are only 6 states nationally that have an independent commission to set up districts
funksands

Hey Monica!
KillgoreTrout

You missed the best line earlier ‘Diarrhoea Donald”!!
pinkpantheroz

Hey KT!
glenn

Issue#1
kesmarn

SLM, I’ve run into some snags in the financing stage.
funksands

What’s up glenn?
KillgoreTrout

I’m thinking kickstarter might be the way to go
funksands

Funk – crowdfund it
sillylittleme

Diarreah of the mouth, constipation of the brain.
KillgoreTrout

Also on Maddow tonight:
AdLib 7 days ago
KT–not much, but we’ve been having some gorgeous weather in GA!
glenn

Now that’s funny!
KillgoreTrout

Ad – too cute
sillylittleme

Ad, that’s awesome
funksands

Hilarious, ad!
pinkpantheroz

LOL! I saw that one earlier too!
kesmarn

Nice glenn.
KillgoreTrout

glenn, I agree 100%. President Obama has done a wonderful job considering the circumstances.
monicaangela

Ad–saw that on Maddow. Even better than the cats one!
glenn

Karl Rove actually referred to Bernie as “elderly” recently. I’d bet Bernie could whip Rove’s pudgy ass, mano a mano!
kesmarn

Kes, I’d pay a lot of money to see that
funksands

slm, he would have to be, circumstances make it impossible for him not to be.
monicaangela

Homie, Rove is the Pillsbury Doughboy!
KillgoreTrout

monica – I think that helped but I think Obama opposed drilling in the arctic from the start but used some political judo on its supporters to end it. By letting Shell go up there and fail, they can’t argue anymore that there should be drilling up there. He shut down the whole argument!
AdLib 7 days ago
Kes–did you see Bernie shaking a leg on the Ellen Degeneres show? Quite funny!
glenn

I wonder if that could be arranged as a fundraiser, funk. Cage match.
kesmarn

Kes – Rove was around when Satan fell from grace
sillylittleme

I saw that, glenn! He dances like a guy from the sixties!
kesmarn

Kes–the cage match only after Bernie is elected president.
glenn

SLM, Karl pushed him.
kesmarn

Kes–that’s because he is a guy from the sixties!
glenn

Home, he IS a guy from the sixties! LOL!
KillgoreTrout

Kes – he is a guy from the 60s
sillylittleme

LOL! Great minds!
kesmarn

Aint we all from the ’60s?
pinkpantheroz

Anyone else find Jim Webb’s “I killed a guy” message compelling?
funksands

Ad, I believe you are correct, and isn’t it wonderful it turned out this way. There should never be drilling up there. I sure hope we never get a President that decides to reverse what he has done. You know what he did is only good until his presidency ends.
monicaangela

Kes – nah he just opened the door and told satan, you first
sillylittleme

OMG! funk! That was just weird.
kesmarn

Yeah PPO. We fogies now.
KillgoreTrout

funk – lol. he is such a republican, he should be running on their ticket
sillylittleme

KT, we can still bop with the best( walkers and all!)
pinkpantheroz

Webb and Chafee totally eliminated themselves that night.
kesmarn

Jim Webb-patriot-poor candidate
Beatlex

LOL PPO! One dance and my hip be hurtin.
KillgoreTrout

Kes, agree, Can’t see how they can keep raising the funds
pinkpantheroz

Funksands, Webb’s face when he said that was maniacal…I never saw anyone take such pleasure in announcing they had taken the life of a human being….Scary.
monicaangela

Webb is a macho dick.
KillgoreTrout

chaffee is a good dude. He deserves better than he’s giving himself
funksands

LOL!! funk, that is awesome!!
kesmarn

I believe this Karl Rove image is from Colbert?
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk – lol KT – yup
sillylittleme

PPO, maybe we are, but we don’t all dance like that.
monicaangela

Ham Rove
sillylittleme

Funk – Webb was inspiring, he made me want to go out and kill a guy!
AdLib 7 days ago
I hear the blood of others is fattening.
KillgoreTrout

Funk – ya the Chaffee legacy is really an honorable one. His dad was quite decent, as is he.
sillylittleme

Eeew–I hate seeing either one of those rove faces!
glenn

KT, coming from a former marine, your comment on Webb resonates!
kesmarn

KT – you are on a roll tonite
sillylittleme

Karl Rove is a “PIGS HEAD ” Adlib!
Beatlex

SLM he’s got some good things to say about foreign policy, which is the primary thing we should be hearing Dem candidates talk about
funksands

Good Marines don’t brag about killing and they certainly don’t delight in it.
KillgoreTrout

Yes slm, Ham Rove!
AdLib 7 days ago
beat, Pig’s Arse, more like
pinkpantheroz

Well said, KT!
kesmarn

Have you ever seen Rove detach his jaw and swallow a pig whole? Its disturbing
funksands

Then he washes it down with the tears of orphans, funk.
kesmarn

LOL funk! That would explain his mid section.
KillgoreTrout

Funk – ya, but things are so subject to change and we will have new leaders soon in several key places, so I’d rather have a diplomat than a warrior.
sillylittleme

Poor Lincoln Chafee! He was so unprepared for that question, he sounded like an 8 year old explaining why he stole a cookie.
AdLib 7 days ago
Time for me to call it a night, folks. Take care everyone, and have a wonderful weekend and week. Hope to see you all next week!
glenn

KT, I believe he was trying to make us believe, his actions would make him the best one on the stage to be commander and chief, therefore the next President.
monicaangela

G’night, glenn!
kesmarn

Nite glenn…
MurphTheSurf3

Night glenn!
AdLib 7 days ago
Me too, unfortuately, glenn. see you all next week
pinkpantheroz

Funk and Kes – !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sillylittleme

Pleas don’t keep mentioning Karl Rove…he has been quiet lately, let’s keep it that way..don’t talk him up.
monicaangela

Seeya PPO!
AdLib 7 days ago
Goodnight glenn.
monicaangela

Nite Glenn – have a great week
sillylittleme

That’s it Monica. He was going for the strong military leader vote. Wrong crowd though.
KillgoreTrout

I know! I get the feeling Chafee is a really nice guy, but… oy….
kesmarn

Night Pink! Night Glenn
funksands

So who is Rove rooting for? Jeb!?
AdLib 7 days ago
Nite glenn and ppo.
KillgoreTrout

Goodnight PPO
monicaangela

G’night, PPO!
kesmarn

G’day Pink
sillylittleme

Funk-LOL
Beatlex

Yep KT, that would have went over much better at the Trump fest..that thing they call the republican debate.
monicaangela

Good night PPO
MurphTheSurf3

Does anything warm your heart more than Jeb! at 7% in the polls, 93% against him, and his numbers going down AFTER he spent millions on ads in NH? Couldn’t happen to a worse family, I’m lovin’ it!
AdLib 7 days ago
Webb might get drafted to run on the GOP ticket if they lose much more ground.
kesmarn

There was a movie about the GOP debate. Diner!
KillgoreTrout

30% of America won’t be satisfied until there is a death live on stage at a GOP debate
funksands

Ad, let’s just hope and pray it stays that way.
monicaangela

Oh, let it be Trump!
KillgoreTrout

Funk – sad but true. can’t stop laughing
sillylittleme

I hear that JEB! has burned through 86% of his money already. Houston, he has a problem.
kesmarn

But Jeb looks so unhappy…I imagine he is envying Mitt
MurphTheSurf3

Poor Yeb!
KillgoreTrout

A death funk….just one.
monicaangela

Jeb! is Toast!
Beatlex

Poor Jeb Bush. boo hoo. Can’t wait to see him on Celebrity Apprentice
funksands

How ’bout Chuck Todd? For the on-stage death, that is?
kesmarn

Where has ole Rand Paul these days?
KillgoreTrout

Kes – his ratings warrant it
sillylittleme

He’s been Ayn Randed, Homie.
kesmarn

Yep Kes, but we can’t forget all of his dark money. And, just think, Cruz is still holding on to a sizeable bankroll…guess he’s waiting for Trump to stumble.
monicaangela

I think Jeb is over! If the GOP rigged everything to give him the nom, half of the GOP would stay home on election day. So happy that money and entitlement is going down!
AdLib 7 days ago
Christie is toast too. Texas Toast.
KillgoreTrout

And Piyush Jindal is fading fast. Pretty soon he’ll look like his official portrait.
kesmarn

LOL Homie! Nearly Branded!
KillgoreTrout

KT – Randy compared Bernie to Stalin and Pol Pot
sillylittleme

KT, didn’t you see his stream on the web…so sad…he did a live stream on the web to say he hasn’t gone anywhere…I guess he can’t afford any air time.
monicaangela

…a Communist, ’cause he’s left-handed, Homie.
kesmarn

Great catch Homie!
KillgoreTrout

SLM: Randy?
funksands

Kes – you are on fire tonight
sillylittleme

Funk – randy paul
sillylittleme

Well, (that’s the hand you use)
KillgoreTrout

Look at all the awful Repubs who are as good as dead right now. Christie, Jindal, Graham, Christie, Bush…and they’ve NEVER been out of the basement, losing all the way!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, One down, one to go.
monicaangela

Oh year, Rand Paul too!
AdLib 7 days ago
funksands

kesmarn

KT – lefties are the only ones in their right minds
sillylittleme

LOL slm.
KillgoreTrout

Yes…..Christie, Jindal, Graham, Christie, Bush…and who does that leave them/us with?
MurphTheSurf3

slm, whose right minds.
monicaangela

Love it Funk!
AdLib 7 days ago
MA – lefties, we actually use the right side of the brain
sillylittleme

So who is going to hunker down and weather the Trump storm to emerge on the other side? I like Cruz’s chances
funksands

Ted Cruz is Ned Flanders.
KillgoreTrout

Well, Kids, time for me to sign off for tonight, Celebrating the dear daughter’s birthday this weekend! Have a great one!
kesmarn

Funk – looks like Rubio oddly may survive.
sillylittleme

Murph – It leaves the GOP with unelectable, inexperienced losers.
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk…I think it’s Rubio
MurphTheSurf3

I know slm, just giving you something to think about.
monicaangela

Nite Kes…
MurphTheSurf3

Happy Birthday Homie Jr.
KillgoreTrout

Good. Rubio is the biggest lightweight in the field.
funksands

Nite Kes, I’m checking out too. See y’all next week. Have a good one!!
sillylittleme

Night Kes, keep it real
funksands

See ya slm.
KillgoreTrout

I think Trump can win the nom. Anyone else agree?
AdLib 7 days ago
Nite…SLM
MurphTheSurf3

He just might Ad.
KillgoreTrout

Ad I dont. Peaked too early
funksands

Funk, I believe Cruz is crafty enough to be still standing is Trump falters, and crafty enough to beg for the vice presidency postion if he doesn’t…he’ll try to hang in there until the very end.
monicaangela

Night Kes, a happy birthday to the chip off the ol’ block!
AdLib 7 days ago
Huckabee is also toast. But he never really had a shot anyway.
KillgoreTrout

Goodnight Kes
monicaangela

Monica, he’s got a lot of small donors and big pac money still. That’s a good recipe for hanging on.
funksands

Funk – So who would the Trump voters prefer?
AdLib 7 days ago
Night SLM
monicaangela

Cruz
funksands

Monica – Good point and good possibility. Wow, I don’t know who would be better for Dems, Trump or Cruz?
AdLib 7 days ago
Cruz.
KillgoreTrout

That’s 3 Cruz’s, do I hear 4?
AdLib 7 days ago
That’s true Funk. However, I don’t believe he could ever get elected in a general election.
monicaangela

I’ve got 4!
AdLib 7 days ago
Trump spent more on hats and shirts last month than Jindal raised in total fundraising. LOL
funksands

Monica I don’t believe that either
funksands

Ad, in the general, they would both bite the dust.
monicaangela

I don’t think any of the GOP are electable. Oddly enough, if Bernie wins the nomination all bets are off.
funksands

If Trump turns on Cruz though, because he sees Cruz ascending, look out! Could get really good!
AdLib 7 days ago
Funk – What do you mean? That Bernie would beat all Repubs or could lose to any of them?
AdLib 7 days ago
If Clinton can get past Benghazi…she’s got it.

Funksands, Trump is having the time of his life, he’s being noticed, he’s getting publicity, he’s selling hats and shirts, he’s doing what he loves…running for President? Not so much, that’s just the way the carnival barker brings in the crowds.

Murph – I think Hillary is past Benghazi now, thanks to McCarthy and those Repubs following his lead.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, I simply think it changes the dynamic of the race a bit
funksands

Funk – How?
AdLib 7 days ago
Has anybody heard about the anti-Hillary ad where they have two of the four killed in Benghazi speaking from the grave against Hillary? Truly low down and disgusting.
KillgoreTrout

Ad…this week is critical…presuming the FBI gives here the AOK
MurphTheSurf3

Murph, don’t be so sure. The MSM and the DNC are playing a good game, but the web and the general public says different. Hillary is a phony.
monicaangela

In a way that its a little harder to predict turnout, and traditional voter behavior. I think he’d attract some conservative votes, and lose some moderates for the Dems
funksands

I’m not so sure Monica.
KillgoreTrout

Funk – In national polls right now, Bernie beats Trump by bigger margins than Hillary…and all the other Repubs. Bernie attracts a lot of indies and even some Repubs. Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Carson? All are hard right and won’t attract Dems or indies.
AdLib 7 days ago
KT…heard of the ad and saw it….disturbing esp. when compared with Bush and the butcher’s bill in Iraq.
MurphTheSurf3

Mr. Rogers will never be elected.
KillgoreTrout

KT, do you believe he actually wants to try to win a general election?
monicaangela

KT – Yes, saw a report on that and that two sets of parents have come out against it in outrage.
AdLib 7 days ago
I think so Monica.
KillgoreTrout

KIllgore,saw that,disgusting!
Beatlex

Obama won self-described moderates in a big way against Romney. I think Bernie would have a harder time. I don’t think it gives him less of a chance, I just think it changes things
funksands

Just when you think they can’t sink any lower, they do.
KillgoreTrout

Murph – That’s true, I was just stating the obvious that she was free and clear from the House Benghazi committee…and I think she’ll slice them up next week. Am looking forward to that.
AdLib 7 days ago
Monica, he does now. If he drops a lot in the near future, he’ll bail fast though
funksands

Exactly Adlib, Bernie will be doing a lot better when he gets his answer to guns and the democratic socialist question right.
monicaangela

Hillary says she’ll hold the NRA accountable. Hmmmmm!
KillgoreTrout

Ad…I have to think if there was any real exposure from the FBI that her campaign would be waved off from the DOJ
MurphTheSurf3

KT, I do believe her on that. Guns is one area that I think Hillary can be counted on
funksands

I hope so funk.
KillgoreTrout

I can’t wait to see that KT, I can’t even imagine Trump believing he could actually be President. Imagine that, where would his allies come from. he says horrible things about everybody, and he appears to think he is going to be King if he becomes President. He really doesn’t know the hiearchy of this country very well.
monicaangela

Funk – I’d disagree with you on that, moderates would seem to have a lot more to be attracted to in Bernie’s populist policies than the shallow and hateful RW jargon of Trump/Carson/Cruz. Current polls bear that out.
AdLib 7 days ago
Trump is locked in a big Bubble with a capital T on it.
KillgoreTrout

Trump’s fatal flaw is that he looks down on everybody.
KillgoreTrout

Hillary says she went up to Wall Street and told them to cut it out…I guess she plans to do the same for the NRA. LOL!!!
monicaangela

Good points, monica. Bernie’s defense of his previous pro-gun votes, saying it’s rural vs. big city, may have some truth to it but doesn’t fly for Progressives. He just has to pull a Hillary and flip on the issue, explaining he’s finally fed up with all the killing.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, we’ll see. I think there is a bigger stigma to the “socialist” label than you are giving credit for. Bernie would have a big advantage is the GOP is a hard right winger. I think he’d have a harder time beating a soft right winger
funksands

*if*
funksands

funk, there are no soft RWers.
KillgoreTrout

KT, Rubio and Bush I consider soft right-wingers.
funksands

I don’t. Bush is putting on an act., and so is Rubio.
KillgoreTrout

Murph – I don’t know, Obama would be smart not to back channel anything to Hillary about the FBI investigation, if it came out it would stain his legacy with corrupt behavior and he has been pretty clean so far.
AdLib 7 days ago
KT, they’ll pivot slightly if they get the nomination
funksands

Ad, I understood what Bernie was saying. Just as he did with the democratic socialist explanation, he just doesn’t appear to be able to explain it in terms that the average person can understand. I believe in his mind he knows what he is talking about, but you know how it is, sometimes you have to break it down so that everybody else can understand. I don’t believe Bernie has learned to do that yet…given time I believe he will figure it out.
monicaangela

You know that. It’s all puppet theater during the nomination
funksands

Rubio is a bagger, isn’t he?
KillgoreTrout

Funk – Look at Obama, he was stained with being a socialist, Marxist, Muslim, anti-colonialist, commie, terrorist. And he won.
AdLib 7 days ago
Bush will follow the family plan.
KillgoreTrout

KT, yes he is, and of the worst kind…so is Cruz and the other politicians in the race. Well, maybe not Paul, but the rest surely are.
monicaangela

Yep!
KillgoreTrout

Ad..not speaking of anything illegal or from Obama….but the DOJ can signal its direction in many ways…
MurphTheSurf3

Ad certainly that’s true. He also ran as a moderate consensus-building peacemaker. That and his utterly compelling presence won him a lot of votes.
funksands

With the GOP imploding, I don’t think a true bagger has a chance.
KillgoreTrout

Funk – I agree that Bush and Rubio are trying to position themselves as softer right but Rubio wants 4 wars and wants women to have to die in childbirth and Jeb wants to kill SS and Medicare. Not really so soft.
AdLib 7 days ago
Bernie is a self-described democratic socialist. That’s different than bullshit craziness
funksands

Comparatively Ad, not objectively
funksands

KT, that’s who is going to win the nomination. Anecdotally conservatives are pissed that Romney won the nomination. They won’t let a fake conservative win again
funksands

Ad, President Obama won because he was able to pull off something no other politician has been able to do. He was able to unite the people, all of the people under a theme “Yes We Can” something that gave ownership to every person that voted for him. Most people I believe helped him win, because it was a heavy lift, and if we didn’t pull it off, we would have all been losers. The politicians running in this election could learn a lot from what Obama did in that campaign.
monicaangela

Monica – Yes but I still don’t think he’s near a winning argument on guns. I really think he needs to come on over all the way to the Progressive side on gun control and explain why he has. Being honest of course.
AdLib 7 days ago
funk, do you think there more baggers than traditional repubs?
KillgoreTrout

I think Bernie is fully capable of wining against any of the current GOP candidates. I think the voting dynamic would just be different than if Hillary was the nominee.
funksands

KT for sure.
funksands

Murph – Right, just wpuldn’t want Obama getting hurt trying to give Hillary a wrongful leak about the FBI.
AdLib 7 days ago
It’s an interesting question, funk.
KillgoreTrout

KT, most traditional Republicans now self-describe as “Independent”
funksands

Funk – True, compared to the top Repubs, the majority of candidates look softer. But in a GE, all the Dem would need to do is quote whoever the Repub is from the primaries and they would look like a frothing loony.
AdLib 7 days ago
Gotta go! See you guys!
Beatlex

Really, funk?
KillgoreTrout

Take care B!
KillgoreTrout

Ad, you are correct. I do believe he is on the side of the Progressives when it comes to guns. His rural vs. urban comment was regarding his votes in the senate…Remember, he did have to run for election in a rurual state. Sometimes you have to appear to be in favor of something 100% when maybe you’re only 30 or 40% behind it. That’s why I say, he will eventually figure out how to sell his oppostion to the gun laws we have today. I truly believe he is in favor of the same things that the majority of us are. None of us want to see these horrible mass killings continue.
monicaangela

Its an interesting dance as traditional Republicans hold their nose to vote for their team, while the deeply disturbed wing of the GOP simply hangs with the GOP to maintain political power. Who blinks first?

Monica – Becoming the first AA President, with the middle name of Hussein, he sure did pull off an historic win that brought many Americans together. But I think Americans now want to continue that kind of thing, thus, a Bernie presidency looking so unlikely to many right now, has a path to follow.
AdLib 7 days ago
Night Beatlex!
AdLib 7 days ago
Well guys, it’s been fun but I believe I’m going to have to check out. See you soon.

And Obama had a more viable opponent than Hillary or Bernie will have. The negatives on Trump, Cruz, etc. are so high!
AdLib 7 days ago
Adlib, I agree with what you are saying, and I do believe Bernie is the next one to assume that position. He’s been in government a long time, but he has a pristine voting record in my opinion. And, I believe he will be excellent for this nation as President.
monicaangela

Ad, that is very true

And consider that no matter which Repub wins the nom, Dems will have a majority of women, Latinos, gays, AAs, younger voters…the numbers just won’t be there for extremists Repub.
AdLib 7 days ago
Night KT! Seeya tomorrow!
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, white women went for Romney.

AdLib 7 days ago

Good night funk.
MurphTheSurf3

They’ve shown that they’re only slightly less conservative than white men
funksands

He’s insulted them left and right throughout the primary. Remember Carly being ugly? And the Fox woman bleeding from her whatever?
AdLib 7 days ago
And Trump insulting Bush’s wife for being Latino?
AdLib 7 days ago
The anti-Trump, anti-woman ad just requires editing those clips together.
AdLib 7 days ago
Night Murph, get some rest!
AdLib 7 days ago
Maybe. I think it will drive a lot of non-white women to the Dems. But the old, white vote would need Trump to punch a woman in the face on live tv to abandon the “R” vote.
funksands

Even then, they may like his strength in punching a woman.
AdLib 7 days ago
Think of all the endorsements from NFL players he could get if he punched out a woman!
AdLib 7 days ago
Trump is leading all other GOP candidates in the woman vote
funksands

I personally know a few women that wouldn’t mind serving time to get a crack at him. 🙂
funksands

Trump leading in women voters is like saying Transformers 4 is a smarter film than Transformers 3.
AdLib 7 days ago
Well it is.
funksands

LOL
funksands

I think if you punched Trump in the face, your fist would get suctioned into his lips like a toilet plunger.
AdLib 7 days ago
I find the whole GOP primary utterly fascinating.
funksands

Trump is half Harkonnen
funksands

You’d never get the bronzer out of your knuckles
funksands

Same here, it’s more guilt-free amusement than 2012 because Romney stood a chance, none of these Repubs do.
AdLib 7 days ago
You know what, Trump may be more sandworm.
AdLib 7 days ago
But maybe you could knock his hair straight?
AdLib 7 days ago
That’s an insult to sandworms
funksands

They’re going to re-boot Dune, did you know that?
funksands

I did hear that but it’s been discussed for a while.
AdLib 7 days ago
They finally have a director and some cast signed on. The guy that did District 13 is the director
funksands

With Justin Bieber as Paul?
AdLib 7 days ago
Holy hell I didn’t need that visual
funksands

Julianne Moore and LIam Neeson are already on board
funksands

Well, Blomkamp a great choice. Loved District 9 but his follow up films have been a bit too soap boxy to work as well.
AdLib 7 days ago
Ad, my laptop is going to run out of juice. Good seeing you again. Hope you and your family are good. Hope to see you next week. Pierre Morrell is the guy. District 13, not District 9
funksands

Oh, my bad! Have you seen District 13? I haven’t.
AdLib 7 days ago
Considering the genre, thought Blomkamp made more sense.
AdLib 7 days ago
But Morel may be great for it, I saw that he’s a cinematographer turned director so that could bode well.
AdLib 7 days ago
Well, looks like time to wrap Vox for the night! Thanks to all for a great discussion tonight! Seeya next Friday!
