Music not only soothes the savage beasts, it can send a message to the savage beasts that “we won’t be fooled again” and “you’re too good to be true”.
Today’s theme is Music that sends a message to someone you fancy, a friend going through tough times, greedy politicians and CEOs, dear old Mom or even your friends at PlanetPOV.
Here are a few messages in a bottle:
These two songs are to send a message to the MSM, the weak-kneed in Congress, the Teabaggers and all those who think losing one Senate seat means the end of the Progressive agenda:
Won’t Back Down – Tom Petty
Rockin’ In The Free World – Neil Young
Here’s a message to the insurance companies and corporations trying to own us and our democracy:
We’re Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister
Here’s the message I’m sending to Pres. Obama:
I Believe In You – How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
And to all my fellow Planet members:
All Together Now – The Beatles
My husband and I are working on learning this song on the guitar –
And this one –
And I’m trying to learn this one on the piano –
Another Birthday to celebrate, a music birthday:
Django Reinhardt: 100 Years Of Hot Jazz

That’s not a good sign , Hope. “I
This goes out to all of us us that are just plain fed up.
It’s a close friend of mine that I used to play bass with.
I’d hold the beat down on this one while he figured out the crazy guitar stuff.

This is a little something he did while he was in Amsterdam.
It’s for America
Hatred and Bitterness
Nice. I’d like titles identifying all the scenes in the second one. I got quite a few of them, especially the Pakistani and Southern references.
Happy Birthday Bito !!!
too much, Tiger, thanks. (JFK, my first national election, just a few years ago)
Okay,
This first one was a fave from 10(?) years ago; yep she was younger then (myself as well, go figure), the message is the same, yet there is such a maturity in her voice/presentation, that has grown with mine. Actually, I think I like the 2009 version better; maybe it’s because both of us have grown up (although I’m probably old enough to be her mum). Nevertheless to the love of my life:
Then: 1996+
and now, Australia 2009
Beautiful Boomer.Great voice, I definitely like the 2009 version best.
Me too. Hope.
Tina Arena and she’s Aussie…
Wow — had to post 2009 to my facebook family. Thanks boomer!
Hang in there TheRarestPatriot …

Hey nellie, thanks, wish I would have been around then to hear the Beatles. I hear they were pretty good. 😉
They were groundbreaking. One could say you youngsters missed out on a bit o’ history! 😉
nellie, just a bit too clever, girl. 😎
Happy B-Day Bito.
Happy Birthday, BITO!!! Many more, I hope!!
Thanks nichole, I remember the day you gave me a cryptic message that brought me here. Best gift I have had in a long time.
Thanks KQ, if I had a candle I would stick it in a muffin that I didn’t make!
Happy Birthday Bito!!!
I’m truly LMAO..Very Funny…I want a piece.
AdLib, thanks, I can taste it now. Are you going to send it along the pony, the horse, or the saddle? All that you do and a baker and decorator too! What a guy!
sorry, bito, i won the saddle weeks ago. no pony, by dog i won the saddle!
How did I miss thanking Dear Kalima? Thank you. Was that you running in to “the store” today(on the webcam)? 😀
It’s ok bito, my tears are almost dry now. 🙂
I don’t run dear, not very ladylike you know, I just hop.
Here, you can use my sleeve of my $200 silk shirt. 🙂
I wouldn’t dream of it, I’ll just use these old newspapers in the corner. Thanks for the offer though. 🙂
Adlib, excellent choices and sentiment.
Thanks Nicole! It was hard narrowing them down. My favorite is “I Believe In You”, with the corporate Repub types singing, “Gotta Stop That Man!”
Didn’t realize how fitting it was till I watched it, been a long time!
For B’ito –
For everyone discouraged by last week’s news-
For all baseball fans –
For homophobes –
For California and Arizona folks cleaning up after the storms –
And just because it’s a great song –
Love “Roll With It”, Javaz….great choice!
Hey Nicole!!!
It’s good to see you!
Great to see you too, javaz!! 🙂
nichole, always a pleasure to see you.
(nichole is the person who brought me here, Now you know who to blame)
Bravo great playlist. 😎
Thank you j’avaz, White Album 1968. That’s what I hear, before my time. 🙄
I know it!
The Beatles were way before my time, too!
I heard they used to record songs on big, vinyl discs at one time, can you imagine?
😯
How did they put those big things in their CD player?
Thanks from the Ca resident, still damp from all that rain!
I just watched that movie last week.
And you reminded me why I sooo adored Neil when I was young!
I heard it was someone’s B-day today. This one’s for you Bito:
Now that’s wild, Khirad! 😆
I think I saw some relatives in that one. 😀
Hi everyone!
I won’t lie and tell you that I just woke up because I’m not awake yet. Reading through AdLibs introduction, the first line made me laugh, “Music not only soothes the savage beasts,”
As many of you know, English is my second language and there are times, when very tired, that I tend to write it upside down and inside out. The “savage beast” part reminded me that as a kid with limited knowledge of my new language, I thought for years that it was “savage breasts” and couldn’t wait for my time to come to grow some. 🙂
Love her voice, reminds me a little of Tina Turner.
Kalima!! Good to see you!!
I love Macy Gray….great choice!~
Nicole, it great to see you here too. I remember that you asked for pictures of my furry ones and will try to put something in Author’s Cafe soon and hope you are around to see it.
Take care!
I would love to see them, Kalima!! I’ll be around off and on. I’m in the process of relocating, and hope it’s over my the end of May.
Ok then nicole, just for you I’ll get something together and it will be posted in Author’s Cafe so you can take a peek anytime.
I hope everything goes well with your move.
Take care and good luck! 🙂
I don’t know how savage these are, but it made me think of this acid house classic:
What will they think of next? oh and do they sell those things here in the states?
Heh Heh Heh
😆 Khirad, decidedly more “savage” than I got, but then again, I hear that “size” doesn’t really matter to us girls.
😆 “savage breasts” indeed.
😆
OMG I watched the whole thing! Fascinatingly ridiculous!
Now I wonder if a man who never actually sees his wife naked before they get married and she wears this bra, can he sue for fraud.
For gravity K, I don’t think so. Then again be careful what you wish for guys. When those pants are flapping around the ankles, the tables could turn. 🙄
here’s a brand new offering by some friends here in the Seattle area…a bit hard hitting sonically. Best listened to really loud.
