The Columbus (OH) Dispatch recently concluded its 2009 Holiday Art Contest. Entrants were invited to create angels using an outline provided by the paper; there were at least 130 submissions. Winners were announced Thursday, December 17, 2009.
First, Second, and Third Place creations are Slides 1, 2, and 3 respectively. The artwork is amazing, and and I hope you enjoy the slideshow:
I loved number 14. It’s gaudy, funky and total kitsch! Plus, there is no pretense about it. The person who submitted that probably owns a “Bedazzler.”
I loved third place, America’s Angel. The feathers were a nice touch. They were all a joy to look at though, thanks for that lighthearted post.
Thank you Sue; I am glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to do something that didn’t require over stimulation of the brain cells.
I have a friend who will not watch serious television programs or attend serious movies. Why? To quote her, “I don’t want to have to think.” I guess that’s okay, but ALL the time?
Same when I attempt to write — sometimes I need to let the old cells thaw out.
