With all of the hoopla surrounding the films screened in the Obama White House, I got curious about what the past presidents watched. What follows is by no means complete, but an interesting bit of history.
The film is a truly great mixture of drama, resistance to the forces of politics, the adroit combination comedy, and love story, in a culinary battle for the utmost Michilin Star rating for an established French fine dining enterprise that is a mere 100 feet apart from a brand new (to the village) Indian restaraunt.
MOSCOW (AP) — Boris Nemtsov, a Russian opposition leader and
sharp critic of President Vladimir Putin, was gunned down Saturday
near the Kremlin, officials said. Nemtsov was killed just a day
before a protest planned against Putin's rule.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Bordering on dysfunction, Congress passed a
one-week bill late Friday night to avert a partial shutdown of the
Homeland Security Department, as leaders in both political parties
quelled a revolt by House conservatives furious that the measure
left President Barack Obama's immigration policy intact.
By Anahi Rama and Lizbeth Diaz MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico
captured its most wanted drug lord on Friday, former primary school
teacher Servando "La Tuta" Gomez, delivering a boost to a
government battered by gang violence. The 49-year-old gang boss was
the prime target of President Enrique Peña Nieto's effort to regain
control of Michoacan, a western state wracked by clashes between
Gomez's Knights Templar cartel and armed vigilantes trying to oust
them. Peña Nieto has been trying to quell public outrage in Mexico
after the late September abduction and apparent massacre of 43
trainee teachers by corrupt police in league with gang members.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A white dress that strongly resembles the
custom gown taken from Lupita Nyong'o's hotel room earlier this
week turned up Friday under a bathroom sink in the same hotel, a
Los Angeles County Sheriff's official said.
