Trump: The Storm Of Our Own Making

Murph, First, thanks for the kind words. It took me a bit, but finally got over her and got something posted. Still trying to figure things out here, it’s sort of like trying to figure out how everything works in a new car. You know the basics, but its the understanding of how to work all the accessories.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say you are part of the 3 – 10 percent who have read the Muller report. We indeed live in different times where people spend less time reading. Most people don’t get past page 18 on any new book they purchase. So I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by the lack of numbers around a redacted 448-page report. However, had people read it they would have had a better understanding of what was going on Wednesday when Muller appeared before Nadler and Schiff’s committees.

A lot came out, but you wouldn’t know based on the reporting and of course the loudmouths over at Fox News. They are the ones Hamilton wrote about in Federalist One.
I plan a follow this with one or perhaps two more articles, as I attempt to cover the issue around Trump’s lack of moral leadership that many in the country have contributed to creating. As I said, he is the Chimera of our making.

As always Mike well done. But I don’t think Trump’s racism is so ingrain he is unaware of what he is saying. He is quite aware, and is counting on the attention his comments have generated.

He is doing this purposely to stoke up his base as we saw Wednesday. His claim that he started speaking very fast to quell the shouts of “send her home” clearly disproved by the 13 seconds he waited.

He is the boil on the pimple of the arse of all the collective racists he is playing.

Again well done.

TCOB, it’s been a bit since we’ve conversed. Reading your comment, I have a different take.

My thoughts on Bloomberg being in the race are fluid at the moment. His adds are quite good, and they take it to Trump* on a level none of the current set of candidates can include other than Styer, which brings me to my first dilemma with Bloomberg. Would he best serve the Democrats by using his vast resources in the producing of adds for the party overall and funding the winner of the primary? Some would say yes, which takes me to the next part of this issue. Why shouldn’t he run if he feels he can beat Trump*

Then there is this; the supposed outrage on the part of all the other candidates save Styer. I said I supposed because, in their a manner, each of them is buying the election when their constant request for donations. Go to any of their websites and attempt to get their policy paper. You’re greeted with the splash page requesting your name and email address, one you provide it will place you on their list for donations. Once on, you’re never off. Yes, the amounts they ask for are small, they are relentless in never-ending asking. So we have two self-funding and the other 5 holding their hand out via their websites. Or, in a small-dollar way, buying the election.

Warren, Sanders, Klobcher, Biden, and Buttigieg their push against Styer and Bloomberg is conveying an elitist message if you’re a billionaire, you’re not welcome in the democratic process because you’re just here to buy the election.

I understand how the current democrat contenders want us to see them as not bought by large donations from wealthy patrons. The idea of the small contributions is supposed to convey that image. But, they will take money from those who can give the legal limit, not to mention the political action committee that supports their programs. To run for office means you have to ask for money. Sadly there is no way around the money process in our election process.

I have to admit seeing some of Bloomberg’s adds was convincing me that he could take it to Trump* on a level that could hurt. Then the opposition research started coming out; he has his ugly issues around how he and employees in his company treated women. It does help when his companion tells people it was a “bro world, and it happened 30 years ago, and people should just get over it.” That doesn’t fly because it’s essentially what the idiot in the White House about the Access Hollywood tape.

The bottom line for me regarding Bloomberg is to let the voters decide in the upcoming primaries. If he doesn’t see a way of winning the nomination, he will take himself out.

One last item I haven’t touched the racial component for each of the current candidates. Each one of them has a problem in this area—even Joe. In my opinion, he doesn’t get a pass because he was Obama’s VP. His conduct during the Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas hearings was dreadful.

It’s a shame that none of the candidates of color are still part of this process. But, from my view, it gives me hope that one of them will be on the ticket as VP it just a question which one.

Okay, I’ve said enough. It’s good to read a former Yabberz contributor.
