Pillow Talk

I have used it myself- with nieces and nephews who have sleep anxiety, but it’s a fine line to identify the ‘subjects’ without creating more!!I did learn that it is helpful to ask ‘who are you afraid of,’ rather than what…
The child identifies the terror- (the wolf, or the dragon,) and it’s your job to thoroughly search-identify, and remove it- flushing reinforces the removal!

LOL Caru- perhaps some ‘monster control’ is in order.
A friend of mine -when his daughter was young, used to go on a ‘monster removal’ every night after he tucked her in! He would turn on her nitelight, then proceed to collect them- naming who it was he had captured and where, then flush them! He would drag the wolf from the closet- flush! No more wolf! The trolls under her bed- same fate! The dragon behind the door- ByeBye!
She identified who he was to catch, he would collect them, and flush them.
He and his daughter now play the game with his grandchild..nightmares banished for two generations! 😉

The Enemy Within

Cher- that’s the problem- and it’s an election loser! I don’t care how much he campaigns on his ‘record’- it will be ‘new’ to people who aren’t familiar with his accomplishments.
The GOP will spin it- spend more money doing it- create bigger lies against it- and the Dems will be caught standing ‘downwind’ again.
If I learned one thing at Leo Burnett- it is to keep the product memorable, and the message in front of your demographic.
If it worked for the Green Giant, and ‘The incredible edible egg’ -it works doubly well in politics.

tex as a lifelong Cubs fan- there is nothing left that can piss me off, or insult me.
I will always consider Wrigley Field the ultimate baseball venue, and the legends and traditions that accompany the field are near and dear to all Cubfans.
A day at Wrigley Field will always be the Best Day you can have.
And- if you are fortunate enough to be able to sing Steve Goodman’s ‘Go Cubs Go’ at the end of the game- you have had a sterling day.

I find myself being frustrated by having to remind myself of all he has accomplished. Why isn’t the party shouting it out?
When will they learn that sometimes you have to use the enemy’s weapons to win the battle? There’s no honor among thieves or politicians.

My favorite day was always Opening Day- My boss took off every year, so a bunch of the rest of us did too!
He also understood when we would call in with a ‘fever’… 😉

ADONAI- I understand your frustration but look at the bigger picture: There is no direct benefit to lawmakers to spend money on these projects. If they can’t directly benefit from authorizing big expenditures they couldn’t care less.
Maybe a few could create blind corporations to skim some off the top, but if you designate your primate brother-in-law as CEO, the pitfalls abound.
Until lawmakers feel there are consequences connected to their actions- or inaction, there will be nothing done.
They have no sense of accountability, and until the people find a way to hold Them hostage, the status quo will continue..

@c’lady- FL is being slammed with commercials from Americans For Prosperity, and Crossroads GPS- which are outright lies. The most egregious one is a doctored clip of Obama “saying’ ‘we have to settle this debt crisis before the election”. They skillfully blended two totally different comments.
( I keep cking YT to see if they’re online yet.)
“But I respect their right to exist. I respect their right to carry their own asinine opinion around.”
That is the issue I can’t work out.. do I have to respect lies and slander, because the people using them have the ‘right’ to?

Oh c’lady, I am so sorry. It hurts more, I think when they are young.
Matt has had 2 close friends killed in the line of duty- one was his Sgt’s son.
At his funeral, she signed him 1042- and I cried like a baby, 1,000 miles away..(it was streamed online.)
His name was also David.
Count on that hug being delivered..
