Yeah, I’m disappointed about the windfall profit tax on oil companies, and also wonder what happened to the promise to tax corporations that outsource and give tax breaks to corporations that bring jobs home. There are times that I think it’s too bad that Democrats are not like Republicans in following the president in lockstep. There are claims that the full body scanners are not safe and here is a good article by PolitiFact about the radiation : TSA’s new full-body scanners expose people to 2.4 microrems of radiation per scan. That’s just a fraction of the radiation people encounter during air travel. That was another excellent thing about living in Paris, was getting to tour the museums.
We went to the Louvre at least 3 times, and we still never made it through the entire museum.
Even though the Republicans practically destroyed our country, they did manage to accomplish that destruction in a short amount of time because they never disagreed with one another, and Bush never vetoed one bill set forth by the Republicans.
It is a great analysis of the president’s first year.
Remember at the beginning of his term, the Republicans shouted that Obama was trying to do too much?
With all that Obama inherited, I am grateful that he is a young man in having the energy to “get ‘er done” and the temperament.
He’s had incredible first year from dealing with the economy, to the wars, to the Professor Gates incident, to dealing with the party of NO, to the underpants bomber, and then the Haiti earthquake.
And that’s just what I remember, and my memory certainly isn’t what it used to be.
From what I’ve been reading about her, folks don’t seem to like her much.
I’ve read several comments referring to her as a corporate elitist, and supposedly Democrats are choosing to stay home.
From what I’ve read about Brown, well, he sounds like a typical, Republican and corporate elitist.
It will be interesting.

But I have been feeling disenfranchised for some time now.
I just feel powerless in that it doesn’t seem to matter how I vote.
I feel as though my vote really does not count or makes a difference.
They think she’s arrogant and favors the corporate elite.
They resent that she felt Senator Kennedy’s seat was a “given” for her and she didn’t work very hard or take the race seriously.
It seems that the election is a popularity contest with most Democrats staying home simply because they dislike their Democratic candidate.
Good one!
The Republican heads would explode, if a woman Democratic candidate had posed nude in her early 20’s.
Can you imagine the things that they’d say?
