Displaying 0 To 0 Of 0 Comments What IS leadership and what kind of leader do WE want? Respectfully, I have to disagree. I can promise my granddaughter a trip to Disneyland, however, If I lose my business, it has to wait. In her mere 12 years, she would not like the grandmother I had “become”, when she gets a little older, she understands. Our president has managed to pass the most liberal policies since FDR, with a hostile congress, frightened blue dogs, and impatient “progressives” The problem with progressives is their definition of “liberal”. We true liberals define progress as a step in the right director, not necessarily winning the race. Sadly, by some of the so called “progressives” standards of progress, Lincoln would have been scorned, because the Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in hostile territory, but didn’t include full voting rights. I no longer call myself progressive, but a proud liberal. We liberals have a history of dying for what we believe, and not wait around for one guy to give it to us. I take back the name with pride, as other have paid their blood, to leave me the name. » Posted By biznesschic On March 20, 2011 @ 8:12 am Wisconsin and Learning from Our Mistakes I disagree with you somewhat. Race had a lot to do with the southerns switching to the republican party. How dare the government force us to drink out of the same water fountains, with “coloreds”. They were willing participants because they believed that the republicans felt their pain, and was willing to sell their souls, just to stay within “the club”. The strategy started with Nixon, was exacerbated by Reagan, and drove them off the cliff with GWB. I say, GOOD! » Posted By biznesschic On March 10, 2011 @ 3:29 pm Arianna’s Marie Antoinette Moment Its happening. Andrew breitbart is blogger over there now, taking up for that Okeefe weasel! » Posted By biznesschic On March 11, 2011 @ 7:23 pm Our resident professional Obama basher over at HP, Robert Reich, gave his humbled opinion as to why President Obama should be more forceful in this congressional budget fight. Unlike Clinton, who basically did the same thing during budget battles, Obama should fight to shore up his “base”. Well, I have pinned an open letter to our dear Dr. Reich: An open letter to Dr. Reich: Dear Dr Reich: “WE BLACK PEOPLE BE SMART TO”: Now, do you feel better? You see, your constant need to tell this black president what to do, even when you have proved to be wrong 90% of the time, takes me back to the plantation, when the overseer had to tell his slave where to place that bag of hay. We no longer need your great white wisdom and “guidance, when clearly, if the American public thought otherwise, we would have elected your lips to butt, Hillary Clinton. So Dr Reich, coming from an educated black women, who is clearly not too bright, I will try to answer your question as to why our President is staying above the fray in the budget battle: 1) It is the job of congress to write the budget and There, and it didn’t take a 500 word essay on Huff post. » Posted By biznesschic On March 11, 2011 @ 7:12 pm Yes Virginia, There is Class Warfare However, look to see what states Obama did not win, mostly in the south, and center of our country. Mississippi has the most concentration of African Americans, yet, it is still in the red column. Out of 77 counties in Oklahoma, he failed to win one. Until a certain segment of our population want to take us back to the good ole days, when blacks, and women, knew their place, the rich will be able to manipulate them. » Posted By biznesschic On March 7, 2011 @ 2:09 pm But it gets worse, because the president is African American, it is easier to rally the base against a black man. The “greatest” generation, who were depression era babies, were able to keep these people in check, however, that ended with the civil rights movement, which turned the once populace south, into republicans. » Posted By biznesschic On March 7, 2011 @ 2:03 pm I am less optimistic. What is going to end class warfare is the death from old age of southern white baby boomers, who long for the good ole days. History teaches us that the rich can sucker the poor in just about anything. White slave owners convinced poor southerns to fight a civil war, in which these same poor whites would have benefited from paid labor. By convincing them that they were at least better than slaves, these people fought against their own economic interest. Huckabee knows what he is saying. By reassuring them that something must be “wrong” with our president being black and intelligent, speaks to their core assumptions, that they are indeed better than those “liberal” who embrace diversity. Our president represents an assault against themselves, or more importantly, the superiority in which they believe. » Posted By biznesschic On March 7, 2011 @ 10:33 am Invite For Collaboration Part 2: Ha. I too was puzzled by HP lack of support for the president. The misleading headlines and the unflattering pictures of our president left me wondering “whats going on here”, until Ms H posted a holiday staff picture. The lack of diversity in the racial and age makeup of her staff rivaled a young republican convention. Clearly, it did not represent the Democratic party. Funny thing is, when some of us posters called her out, an article,(with pictures) of her work with the Harlem school for girls miraculously appeared, and a month later, we “colored” folks got our own black section. Laughable isn’t it? » Posted By biznesschic On February 21, 2011 @ 9:52 am Just new to this site from Huffpost, and love it. Few things going on here: Progressives have too many “leaders”. You have the Nader people, the Kucinich supporters, the Larouches, and the newly formed political party of “Hillary should have won”. Each group believes that we would have been taken to that liberal utopia, if America had not made a mistake and elected their savior. Not realizing that if their person actually had to govern, and make practical decision that goes against their followers “progressive” purity, they would turn on them also. A funny thing happened during Xmas when Ms Huffington posted her staff photo for all to see. And guess what, they were 99% white, and 80% under 40. So it is understandable why they would miss the true pulse of the progressive community. When you ignore 25% of your base, African Americans, and the father who was so grateful to be able to keep his college age daughter on his health care, you tend to miss the boat. I suspect this is happening to too many progressive websites. » Posted By biznesschic On February 11, 2011 @ 7:10 pm Hey pocketwatch! » Posted By biznesschic On February 11, 2011 @ 12:54 pm Why hello there!
