You saying that somebody’s opinion is weak is nothing but your opinion.

But I do agree with you that people who do not want their opinions challenged should just keep them to themselves.

Do you think calling somebody’s opinion weak constitutes challenging that opinion?

I don’t, you are just labeling their opinion. Nothing else. Pretty weak.

And now we see the slippery slope of generalizations.

If we all tried, and I stress tried because we all aren’t perfect, to not use generalizations then we wouldn’t get into this dust up in the first place.

That is where all this started.

Generalizing is either acceptable or not. That is it.

To say “many are low income” or “many are elderly” is a generalization, one, as well as being misleading with the facts.

You will have to ask them that. Go to one of their rallies and find out.

First off I am not a tea partier but I know plenty of them.

Second, many of us were not happy about the first TARP. Not happy at all.

As for the patriot act, it doesn’t impact me specifically.

Did you happen to attend any tea parties? Did you happen to read any other alternative views on the tea parties?

There really is only one major issue and it has to do with increased government spending and involvement.

Many in the tea party movement feel that the government is becoming too big and too intrusive.

I am going to bring this back to the top. My point is getting lost.

What I am saying is generalizations are not good from either side and this was a clear generalization.

The debate is better had when generalizations are not included. Sure there are low income people in the tea party just as there are people that make good incomes involved.

There are black people, white people, young people, old people, and every other type of person in between.

The tea parties may not represent your America but they do represent somebody’s America.
