Weekend Music Thread – Southern Accents

BFF
You are never a Barger, you are always welcome. He is one of the best at making glass or dichroic beads. His designs really come to life. I told KT I saw a bracelet out of some rainbow beads he made and when you turn the bracelet around it is almost like the colors are shooting around the bracelet. I have been following him for years. I work with ready made beads but would love to be able to afford a kiln to get into glass beds.

You could make dichroic glass, you already know how to work with it youjust need a kiln………..my friend and I are thinking about sharing the cost of one to make glass beads. There is a guy Bruce Maher and he makes the most beautiful beads. I saw a rainbow bracelet made from his beads and it looked like the light was shooting around the bracelet. here is some of his work

I hear that. I love to work on my jewlery and listen to music. I can work all day with few breaks. Once I get in to the mood, I can crank out some really nice pieces, then I give them away as gifts lol.

I love that song and especially by her. See what I mean? You could listen forever and prob never get tired.

I loved them and Marshall Tucker at the same time. Jessica is one of my favorites. There is so much good music you could probably listen 24 hours a day and still not get through it all in a year.

I love Billie Holiday. Diana Ross did a great job in the movie Lady Sings The Blues. Strange Fruit was the activist song of the day in the 30’s, it gave a name to racism and the deep seated hatred that makes men do such terrible things. Things I still cannot wrap my head around.

We are listening to Marvin Gaye now. It is hubby’s Motown night.

“Yeah, That’s the GOP Ticket!” – Can Romney Lie His Way Into the White House?

Remember how everyone was saying Obama would be up against a tough foreign policy issue and he would not pass the test? I think the bitterness is because he has passed them all.

Sally
Mitt alone gave them a million dollars……Mormons more than any other group make me want to invite them in, light up a smoke and ask them how i can go right away to the celestial kingdom

One thing I am not sure of is how Mormons think this idea of saving the constitution will endear evangelicals to them? They would more likely call it a conspiracy.

» Posted By SueInCa On January 18, 2012 @ 5:34 pm

Romney cannot even be true to statements he has made to his brother. After his disappointing loss to Ted Kennedy he told his brother, “I don’t want to run again unless I can win” Oh wait did someone tell him it was in the bag this time?

Also I am wondering how the whining by the right about their Constitutional rights being assaulted has driven Romney as well. You know the Mormons think that when the Constitution is in trouble, it will be their church that saves the day. As an elder in his church he well knows that is a tenant of their religion. What better way for Mormons to take over government positions and have another Bush administration? he would be in a position to hasten what his religion deems as “hanging by a thread” of the Constitution.

Brigham Young promised that Mormons will do it

“When the Constitution of the United States hangs, at it were, upon a single thread, they will have to call for the “Mormon” Elders to save it from utter destruction; and they will step forth and do it.” (Discourses of Brigham Young, p. 361)

Brigham Young envisioned globalization:

“I expect to see the day when the Elders of Israel will protect and sustain civil and religious liberty and every Constitutional right bequeathed to us by our fathers, and spread these rights abroad in connetion with the Gospel for the salvation of all nations. I shall see this whether I live or die. (Discourses of Brigham Young p. 361)

Only a righteous and informed people can save and restore the Constitution in these last days. http://members.tripod.com/~runwin/gov.html

Today’s Mormon Leaders Watch The Constitution Disintegrate

“Today, as we see hovering over the nations of the earth the ever-darkening clouds of nuclear war, we are prone to think that righteousness among men is waning. In our own beloved country, “a land choice above all other lands,” we are grieved and shocked when the Supreme Court renders a decision ruling that it is unconstitutional for the Federal Government of any State to require a “belief in the existence of God” as a qualification for public office; also, we experience apprehension when we know that enemies to our republican form of government are becoming more blatant when we see political demagogues seemingly more successful drunkenness and immorality flauntingly defiant — seeing these conditions we wonder whether mankind is growing better or worse.” (President David O. McKay Oct. 1961 General Conference)

This last statement was recorded in 1961

The Daily Planet, Vol. 190

Girlfriend
See my comment to Cher, I knew you would take mention of your comment in the spirit I meant it, as humor..

» Posted By SueInCa On January 16, 2012 @ 1:17 pm

Afternoon Cher. I started this in the morning and am just now finishing up. And that includes a couple I skipped but bookmarked for later reading. ********************just a note, the link for “Jim Messina, Obama Campaign: A very important memo that is worth your time to read” comes up with a 401 error. I am sure I can find the article just thought I would mention it. I tried to google it Cher and could not find it.

Candy Crowley
It fits my description of CNN jumping on the Tea Party bandstand just about the time they become irrelevant. Dana Loesch is just as irrelevant as CNN and Candy Crowley trying to discuss Bain and Mitt is just a comedy of errors on her part. You never go “naked to a knife fight”.

There are so many good articles I cannot go over them all without taking up all the space Choice Lady did (LOL) and yes I will tell her I said it. always in good humor.

as Rachel Maddow pointed out, the worst thing is when he obviously knew the dog was in discomfort, he just cleaned up and got back on the road.

I cannot imagine us putting our Lucas on the roof of the car. Or any dog we had for that matter.

Bernie Madoff: Defending Mitt Romney and Free Enterprise

And while they’re luxuriating on their mountains of unemployment insurance and lighting their cigars with their food stamps, they look down their noses at the wealthy and condemn them for keeping their noses to the grindstone in their private jets and working till dawn in their pool-size jacuzzis in their 15 bedroom mansions.

Adlib I think you may be a psychic. I was watching either Boom or Bust on the History channel and they described WS in the 20’a in a similar way.

I don’t usually watch History channel but the America – The story of Us was fairly good. I was comparing the info to the version of Peoples’ History that I read and it was not off on the stories it covered much. I was disappointed it did not delve into the correction taken by FDR to save the plains though. Missed opportunity in explaining the Dust Storms, IMHO

Revelations of a 24-Hour MSM Cycle

Fun
Actually by looking at it in the way I did, I had very few outbursts at the tv, Sounds funny but I think you probably understand that one. It also confirmed my preconceived notion that most of the MSM is worthless with a jewel here and there. Mine were Rev Al and Martin Bashir and in actuality those are the two I try to catch whenever I am home so it also confirmed my good(to me anyway) judgment on my news preferences.

I also thought, after reading my article that I was probably pretty right on the mark all the way through. Frontline is another of my faves and now I need to check on Bill Moyers time slot for his new show so I can catch that as well.

The debate over Jundallah was resolved only after Bush left office when, within his first weeks as president, Barack Obama drastically scaled back joint U.S.-Israel intelligence programs targeting Iran, according to multiple serving and retired officers.

This, from the President the right likes to call an appeaser. I think their idea of an appeaser is off kilter.

CL I love you, you always find a way to make me feel smart. I am drooling at the thought of a Crickets HB. they and the joint remind me of the first good job I got in HS. I went to work as a waitress at a burger joint across from my house. The couple I worked for were super nice and very generous. I met a ton of good people there.

I noticed that Cher. I sent a welcome to an anchor man in Denver who was transferring to NBCBayArea and NBC responded to me. I also follow like you do although Joan Walsh blocked me over some comments about Greenwald lol. Most of the links I post here, I find at Twitter. I also am long distance twitter friends with a Civil Rights Attorney out of NYC. I don;t surf for news too much because I know I can get what I need, for the most part, in The Planet.

You have freed me to concentrate on my Religious Right research and Twitter, so take a bow
