Displaying 631 To 660 Of 7,446 Comments Watch Edward R. Murrow’s ‘Harvest of Shame’ I watched this and it was eerie how close to today things were back then, just a darker shade of brown back then. Last week as we were coming up 101 I saw a bus just like the ones in this special dropping migrant workers off in the fields just south of Salinas. It broke my heart to see how poorly dressed they were and I would have stopped except there was no parking on the side of the road. It would have been a great lesson to teach my grandson to show him not all people have the comforts we do. http://billmoyers.com/2013/07/19/watch-edward-r-murrows-harvest-of-shame/ » Posted By SueInCa On July 21, 2013 @ 6:35 pm Dumb ass Geraldo tweeted a pic of himself obviously in the bathroom, when it went viral, he suddenly deleted it. Right wingers still do not know the internet is forever. » Posted By SueInCa On July 21, 2013 @ 6:30 pm LOL well of course, but based on Kramer’s comment, I think the network, or certain people on the network, were threatened by her knowledge and we cannot let knowledge catch on in the population. If we do, Wall Street would really have to run from pitchforks » Posted By SueInCa On July 21, 2013 @ 1:14 pm Nirek TeaNN, I think, is having an identify crisis. From time to time you see sparks of courage but for the most part they have turned to the right. I cannot think of one single anchor on that channel that I would say is a great journalist. Not one. That is why I do not watch cable news anymore. Hell, even my own local station gave a report last week, and if I had not known the detail of what they were reporting on, I would have thought the person they were reporting on was a trouble maker. It is that bad. They did not necessarily lie, they just told half of the story. It was about the book deal for juror B37. In their reporting she just decided not to do the book because it was insensitive. Really? » Posted By SueInCa On July 21, 2013 @ 9:57 am Perhaps but when I was young, I preferred The Outer Limits. » Posted By SueInCa On July 21, 2013 @ 9:51 am Thanks Kalima, it was just eerie because it went back to sad days here on the Planet. » Posted By SueInCa On July 21, 2013 @ 9:51 am Adlib I am totally ok with it, I think it was more the timeframe it took me back to, sad days. » Posted By SueInCa On July 21, 2013 @ 9:07 am How odd, everytime I click on KT’s link in my email to respond to his comments, OT goes back to January 2013. That is kind of eerie. Once I get here, I can refresh and it goes to current. » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 7:12 pm See? We were right to stop watching them all the time. With Comcast’s purchase, I knew it would slowly but surely turn to the right. Anshultz just could not help himself in his devotion to New Reformation Christians/Christian Thugs » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 7:10 pm Hmm perhaps they could only scrub the one on their site? Well good to know it is still out there. » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 1:57 pm I wish I would have seen this: Shortly before the video was pulled, CNBC anchor Jim Cramer tried to undermine its value, tweeting to his followers, “There is some weird strain of thought that CNBC got beaten by Senator Warren. I like the senator but she had NO impact. Sorry..” I would have tweeted back to him “Yeah like your Buy Bear Stearns advice”? No thanks I will believe Ms Warren and her words, I saw it. » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 1:30 pm Agreed Nirek » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 12:21 pm KT I would let these guys loose in the population. Enough prisoners have their morals when it comes to crime on children. But these filth will get protective custody. » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 12:20 pm Nirek » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 12:17 pm http://gawker.com/nbc-censors-video-of-elizabeth-warren-taking-cnbc-to-th-837411782 NBC scrubbed the video of Senator Warren schooling CNBC. Too bad they cannot scrub the transcript » Posted By SueInCa On July 20, 2013 @ 12:14 pm Murph You may be interested in this. Anderson Cooper is taking up her case. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 6:59 pm I used to have a lot of respect for Chris Hedges but slowly over the years that respect has dwindled to nothing. I am not sure how telling the left to leave the Democratic party will benefit anyone. He should be telling people to change the Democratic party and take it way back to the people. I would almost believe he is an agitator for the right.. http://www.truth-out.org/video/item/17674-chris-hedges-america-is-a-tinderbox-part-4 » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 4:22 pm Nirek » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 2:42 pm I am sure they played some part in it but I think cases and the reactions from Universities and the public standing up for the rapist had something to do with it. 13 years old, my God, that could be my grandson under other circumstances. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 2:40 pm The other one is Cheney, but I just want to trip him as he is walking down the street. lol » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:42 pm I said it below, it started even while he was speaking: http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/07/19/2330191/conservative-freakout-race-speech/?mobile=nc » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:34 pm And the RWNJ howl starts right about now……………………………… » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:28 pm I never was a Papa John’s fan but Applebees did get the benefit of my boycott. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:24 pm Disgusting, but my question is why only 2 of the men have been charged? » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:23 pm I have never heard of a county or government agency giving post jury counseling to a group of jurors. They are going to need it to deal with their betrayal of Trayvon Martin and his family. BUT, I do not feel sorry for them, weaklings all. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:19 pm SMH BFF I would like to get Sarah Palin in a room and just confront her about all her nonsense. My guess is she would be looking all around her for a way out. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:12 pm Wow, really puts it in perspective, especially as she compares the reactions to a little boy and a 13 year old teen. Thanks Kalima, that was moving. I just wish everyone could read it and acknowledge it with compassion but who knows, it just might change one person’s outlook and if it does, society will be one compassionate person richer. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 1:10 pm This vid reminds me of how she handled her adversaries: » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 12:59 pm Oh my BFF I do not think I could have ever sat in on a talk by that witch even if I was sedated with morphine. You have quite the constitution to do that, I must say. No secret she is a hypocrite, most “Christians” of her ilk are. All you have to do is look or talk to real Christians to know the difference. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 9:53 am Nirek They can moan and groan about that because it is far far away and they really don’t have to interact with the people there who either were responsible or who tried to stop it. That Embassy and many others are not guarded by our troops as a standard but rather people from the former Blackwater, now Academi. IMHO if they were guarded only by US Troops, the budget would have been far less and the coverage would have been far greater. How demoralizing can it be for our soldiers to see people like Blackwater/Trident/Academi etc to be paid triple what a soldier is paid and know their government is handing out that candy?: Quite frankly I am surprised more soldiers do not do three and out the gate. THAT speaks to the honor our men and women in uniform portray every day. These vendors need to be gone and if the government wants to spend that money on security around the world, give it to soldiers, not civilians who think they are Rambo. Those are the questions they do not want to answer but I am very disturbed that our government would ever give a contract to a man entrenched in the Religious Right so deeply that he only gives to Republican causes. » Posted By SueInCa On July 19, 2013 @ 9:47 amComments Posted By SueInCa
This poor girl seemed to be on her way to foster care. I sure hope she has at least a Victim’s advocate. But in the state of Texas I don’t hold out much hope.
I hope you are right but with the way RWNJ’s are revising history around the country, pretty soon George Washington will be remembered as just another soldier in the Revolutionary Army.
