I may have wanted to format and spend more time on it, but I feel I got a lot into these questions. My point was never to offend Christians – though I suppose that’s part of it – it’s a negation of Christianity – or at least – its hypocrisy. Perhaps showing up looking like Marilyn Manson is counterproductive, and you don’t want to be the Nihilists from the Big Lebowski, but I find Satanists are sardonic above all. There was a cutural aspect I want to expore more. Especially me growing up listening to rock and goth music. I felt like we were the ones being picked on just for being different. At the same time I identified with Jesus being a rebel, but thought all his followers today would have denied him because the status quo. I have nothing to tell me Satanism is a cult. At least, not the groups I wrote on. Might there be some leader like Charles Manson? Sure, not that he was a Satanist, but sure. That’s like saying the Branch Dividians and Hare Krishnas and horrible things. Nowhere on the Cult chart have I seen Satanism. The moment a Satanist is being manipulated a Satanist will tell you to fuck off. If I need to rewrite it I will. I lost the draft. This is my thing right now. I just need to explain why. The crux of it [irony intended]. Sometimes, I felt like the symbol of Satan was my only friend. I did not talk to him, I did not believe he existed. I still do not believe Satan exists. But I saw self-righteous assholes, hypocrisy and what I’d consider evil and awful people wear a cross and be part of church groups. This mythological character challenged God. Was almost the conscience of God when not God’s executioner. I feel the same way about society as Satan felt about God’s reign. And there’s a lot to unpack there. You sure don’t say a lot against Republicans, but say a lot of Republican talking points all the same. They are all dead to me. I don’t even know how they were progressive in the first place. Not even talking Jefferson or Jackson. I suppose the one we can all agree on is FDR. But Eugene McCarthy? Adlai Stevenson? Those worked out well. Carter got lucky and then unlucky – I think history will treat him kinder. But Mondale? Dukasis? Obama was just the right person for the right time, as was Kennedy (who is overrated, or at least, overhyped, in my opinion). But they ran as center-left candidates, not Eugene Debs. At best, these erstwhile friends I had are the Neo-LaRouche movement. Bitter and stewing in their solipsism and fervent fundamentalist belief – that if only we were as pure and smart as them, we’d have Utopia tomorrow and everyone would sing kumbaya. That, everyone else is a centrist, a counter-revolutionary, a corporatist, and yes… anti-Jewish tropes are often folded in between one point and the next. ‘Globalists’, – all that whistling past the Warsaw ghetto stuff. I add Krystal Ball as a soft anti-revisionist version of an idyllic Democratic Party that never existed in the first place. With the lofty bromides hewn towards so-called populism (Huey Long was populist, btw). I just feel that is more marketed and contrived though. On another front, I’ve said, with Ana Kasparian, The Young Turks are winning me back here and there. They still mess up and take them as you will – but they realize defeating Trump is more important than retiring to an ivory tower to spray upon us the waters of Lethe, so we forget, that Supreme Court Justices are for life, and you just had to live with Hillary for four to eight. And, from the progressive left on one end to the other end – that of the center left: Bill Maher is so smug his own butt smells itself as if it were hyacinthe petals. But, Maher sometimes acts like the asshole curmudgeon dad we need who comes in, slaps away our toys and says: no playtime before homework. Stop picking your nose – and eat your vegetables.
