The Liberal Media

I will try my best bitohistory and thank you. I used to post about international news and breaking news stories a lot on the site I was on before Planet, only about a handful of people found it interesting enough to leave a reply and one of them was nellie who is now here. I gave up.

Living for 30 years here in Japan, I hardly ever watch the Japanese news. Our stuffy NHK is in some ways the old BBC of yore, filled with stories about the latest homicides, how to grow eggplant/aubergines and which politician said what outrageous thing.

The reigning LDP party of 50 years was dismally defeated, the new PM quite out of his depths to successfully change the country in any significant way.

The tv reports on his crazier ideas like an increase in tax for couples without children while flaunting the idea of paying couples to have children but I had to find out from my English newspaper, “The Japan Times,” that our new PM Hatoyama owes a considerable amount of money in back taxes. Welcome to the new crook just like the old crooks. It’s the same the world over, the media sits on the story until it is old hat and reports trivia to their hearts content.

The Failed History of Conservatism in America

To answer the last question I would have to answer with, lost an election for the Senate, retired from office and lost their bid for the White House like McGrumpy and Crazy Sarah did last year. Can’t think of anything positive, my brain is clogged with their overwhelming failures.

Jon Stewart Takes on the White House/Faux Noose Fight

πŸ˜† That crazy bat would be enough to turn the power off around the globe with those demonic eyes.

I shake my head in disbelief when I hear a crazed Beck or Limpwad cheering that America didn’t get the Olympic bid or demean the showing of respect and gratitude which is a normal thing for NORMAL people to do, when honouring the fallen soldiers. Yet they have the gall to call themselves proud Americans, my head spins.

A Better Planet

Well I was just climbing into bed when I remembered I had forgotten to include this “Breaking News” email from the BBC.

Good luck javaz and goodnight. You are all getting up and I’m going to sleep. Silly time zones.

Hope that you all have a good day.

Goodnight. Gute Nacht and Oyasumi nasai.

You betcha, perfect! πŸ˜†

Everyone should try it, I didn’t know that you were Potter fan.

» Posted By Kalima On November 2, 2009 @ 2:01 am

Maybe we can all agree not to mention the name of you know where, after all, we all know where and who we are talking about, right?

» Posted By Kalima On November 2, 2009 @ 1:15 am

Hey, it’s a polite enough start.

Anything else you might want to learn, just holler. πŸ™‚

I don’t like the idea of bringing arguments on another site here either, Planet was never intended for this. What happens over there, stays over there unless it’s some fraudulent reporting that is.

I don’t mind a place created especially for venting, it’s not like PM’s or Private emails. I don’t particularly like the venting out where everyone can read it and think that is all we are about either.

» Posted By Kalima On November 2, 2009 @ 12:22 am

Brilliant idea AdLib and then the people who were genuinely fed up or not interested in Huffy trolls could comment on something else. I’d hate to think that the Planet could be read by the public as a punching bag for grievances held at Huff, this is not why we started it at all.

I vote a loud YES!!

» Posted By Kalima On November 2, 2009 @ 12:06 am

One “i” too many there but it means “You are welcome.”

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 11:40 pm

Doi itashi mashite AdLib san!

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 10:43 pm

Well the second part of the insult Kuzu and lazy is namaiki and no the Japanese are not as polite as they used to be, it depends on which generation they are from.

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 10:41 pm

Oh gee, come on now ” Mr, working all day and night to make it run smoothly,” take a bow, you deserve it more.

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 9:56 pm

Found it Adlib, I’ll try it on the comment box later, thanks a bunch!!

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 9:51 pm

As we say in Japan “Gokorosama!” it means thank you for your hard work. πŸ™‚

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 9:46 pm

P.S. Don’t forget to have him tested before you bring him into your home.

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 9:04 pm

Hey why not, the more the merrier I think. I’m thinking about another Siamese male myself.

Our half American shorthair found in a park days after he was born, needs a friend, with four females and only one other docile male in the house, he thinks he’s the boss. He’s not, I am!

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 9:02 pm

Yep, he’s a friend of mine and stopped posting in December 08, he had had enough of the trolls and mods to last him a lifetime.

If you try not to answer them directly but through a third party, that drives them nuts too.

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 8:50 pm

My last opinion of this troll business which has become a boring subject for me from last year is this. We found that if you ignore them, their heads will explode before they run back under their bridges.

The motto and mantra of all those recovering from troll infestation should be, “DON’T FEED THE TROLLS” we stuck with it and many disappeared.

Oops, missed a word again, “thanks for the vote” might fix it.

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 7:26 pm

Back of the room or not, I spotted you and thanks for vote. After about an hour on Huff I used to go cross-eyed and get a headache too. πŸ™‚

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 7:25 pm

I see that AdLib is atweaking behind the curtain, as we now have reference to the posts with the comments. Thank you my friend! πŸ™‚

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 5:53 pm

I wish that I could say the same about my hubby, he has just learned how to email me from his mobile when he is out of the country. Bless his cotton socks. πŸ™‚

As for the images, practice makes perfect, this from someone who can get an image into the post but not onto the Home Page. I’m a total technofart!! πŸ™‚

Lovez me a bit of old Smokey, what a voice.

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 5:06 pm

*Sniff* Tell me what you want to hear and I’ll post them for you if I’m awake and here at the time. πŸ™‚

» Posted By Kalima On November 1, 2009 @ 4:54 pm

I second that emotion!
