START YOUR TALKING POINTS! “SUMMIT” IS HERE!

Ok now, I’ve spent most of my morning watching the “Summit” Part 1 on C-Span, slipping in and out of consciousness as the Repubs repeat points already clarified by the President, things already covered in the existing bill or just plain made-up lies as only members of the GOP are capable of doing with a straight face.

There is an afternoon Part 2 session and I wondered if anything dynamic occurred or if one stiff arsed, stiff lipped Repub shouted “You lie” or made any sense at all in the next 70 minutes. If not I could always save it to watch before bedtime, when it could serve the purpose of sending me to sleep.

The President was great and if I were the other side, I would feel so very embarrassed by the smarting sensation coming from my behind where the President had just given me and my colleagues a firm, royal spanking on national tv. Ouch!!

My grandmother used the word to describe the nasty stuff floating at the top of the water when you boil your own chicken bones for soups. Isn’t that what you would call scum in English?

The correct word was actually “Abschaum” but she liked to use the word Rahm because she disliked my grandfather’s habit of making sour cream from the cream collected from the top of milk bottles. It stunk the house out but he lived to be 89.

Talking about progressives, I went to Kos last night, hadn’t been there in a while and was gobsmacked by all the negative and anti Obama comments. Some of them could have easily rivaled RW trolls on HP and I left there with a really bitter taste in my mouth wondering why some people continue to bite their own arses.

Sounds like my notes on my life here in Japan, you’d think we were living in Hef’s mansion instead of a “normal” sized Japanese house. If we knock down any more walls to gain more space, we will be living in the street outside.

Funny you should mention this, it had been on my mind too, I just didn’t want to mention it in case anyone might think that I was advocating a run on the nation’s Churches. What I mean is that many people have forgotten how to believe in anything, to have faith in anything, live their lives thinking about who will win the next basketball game and forget what real happiness is or the last time they really felt this emotion. We have been side tracked to believe that the only way we can achieve contentment is by owning things. We can analyze others but no longer feel the need to analyze ourselves because either we are afraid to or believe that we are just fine the way we are.

Learning to understand, like or even love yourself is difficult for most of us, but I find without this, it becomes harder to understand, like and love others. Many of us have forgotten what is important for our own lives while doing for others, our lives have become complicated and we have forgotten how to dream.

I know that having many differing opinions is what makes you great, but at the same time do believe that in order for Obama to succeed in his humongous task ahead in the face of unending opposition from the “useless” RW geezers, there will have to be a meeting and joining of minds to defeat their nonsense while putting aside diverse opinions long enough to confront the real enemy of progress. There has to be a way to unite for the good of the country and the majority of it’s tired and wounded citizens.

Cher, while I understand your point about the RW having everything handed to them on a plate and all they then had to do was to show up looking righteous, angry and for the most part gormless and totally uninformed like a crowd of old ladies with their knitting watching an execution by guillotine, a counter-attack of any size would have been better than none, even in home states if travel to Washington would have been a burden to some. The fact that is hasn’t happened shows that Dems are so prepared to sit there an take the constant slaps in the face from the opposition, which just encourages the RW to do more of the same the same way a bully will keep on hitting a person who doesn’t fight back.

The unity needed to take on a slight to the party, demeaning remarks about your President, your members in Congress and the lack of a response, just fuels more aggression because they think that they must be getting away with it. There is nothing more powerful than a solid group of people speaking with one voice and I feel that this apparent lethargic attitude to sit still and do nothing rather than fight to the end is the problem. People are too afraid to stick to their principles in case they fail. I don’t feel that making your voice heard, even if it basically won’t change much, is a failure at all. The demure hiding under the desk or closing the curtain on issues the American people want, is failure.

As many obstacles as there might be standing in the way of mass protests, I still firmly believe that where there is a will, there is a way.

TY wts, even though it’s early in the morning, I just had to get it out before my case of “verbal diarrhea” was lost in the bustling of the always distracting noise of a Tokyo morning, I know that you know what I mean.

I hope I didn’t offend anyone and was using the general “you.” I only have one thing in my favour, and that is being far enough away to see situations in America from a different angle, producing a different pov from those who are in the middle of the fray.

Oh btw, I’m waiting for my long sleeved t-shirts from PlanetGear and will be proud to be wearing your wonderful “Dr. Suits” drawing on my chest in the near future. 😆
